btw mummies.. i relocating to US end march.. hope i'll be able to join in the feb or march gathering.. if not hav to wait 2 yrs then can see u all liao...

Zoe, can tell me more abt sceduling bb's sleeping time to prepare him foe the new timezone? i dunno how i am going to cope.. the time diff is 14hrs before SIn time!
 


my girl also super fussy. rice cereal not of the right consistency she will refused to eat at all!
But Cait is quite gd, she will still still and let me feed her but takes at least 15mins.

I'm a SAHM for the moment. hehe i saved enough while working last time so that i can take care of my child. then hb don't have to stress.

i think i spend more than $600 on ang bao leh. Some cousin are ard our age we cant only give $4 - 6. Our unmarried sibling we will give more. my mum, ILs, grandparents... aiyo..

However my mum and my hubby grandma still give us angpao. hahaha.. better than none.

U not bringing ur ger... then i have to reconsider
 
ylc, hi^5 ... my girl just goes round n round. roll here, roll there. can't crawl. sometimes she tries but end up very frustrated n will cry/scream. everytime her butt goes up her head goes down. =(
 
peach... my girl too. she gets frustrated when she can't crawl and starts screaming for me.... she is now playing on the floor... haha has got her favourite flowers so can keep her entertained.

do u all draw some 'commission' from ur babies' ang bao? My hubby always does tat altho i dun really agree to it cos I hate it when my dad did tat when i was young.

Yenny, me and hubby discussed. At first we wanted to take back what we gave out to others and let baby keep the balance, end up we think we might not even recover, so jsut deposit whatever he has gotten loh....

my girl right now is most attracted to the pigeon wet wipes.. we're guessing she loves the red & white bright colours, the crinkly texture.. n cos we dun let her play with it cos it can get sharp. she's always twisting n turning to see the wet wipes packet when we are cleaning her butt. so sometimes, if got two of us there, one of us will hold the wipes above her head so that she'll lie still n face upwards! =)


Yenny, hmm if what my girl gets I'll just give her ba.. altho I didn't mind if my mum took a "commission" from my angpow.. I didn't really care also. I usually juz gave her the angpow money after I open the angpow (that's my biggest pleasure, opening angpow), to let her deposit for me. Never really bothered to ask her whether she put in all or not, aiyah, she's my mum, can do what she likes la.. sometimes i tease her la.. put in my bank or her bank.. sure anot. it's just $$$ mah.. she spend alot on me already. even all the angpow i collect also wun recover cost. haha. :p

Actually, was thinking of putting all the money into endowment plan or investing it.. what do you mummies do with ur baby's angpows (birth, 1st month, birthdays-to-be)? Dunwan the money to sit in some savings account that cannot earn good interest. Wanna give her the money maybe on her 21st birthday.. hurr.. thinking so far ahead.


misaryeo, who knows..ur bb might come back with an american slang! haa. my friend's bro was there since he was like 2 yrs old. when he comes back to singapore to visit, he speaks with a strong american slang. so cuteeeeee.
 
Peach - The $ sits in my bb's account...and its getting fatter and fatter. He has more $ than I do....lolx

This $ will be for his "lao po ben" hahaha..think too far lioa.

There are parents who will only give the "profit" too the kids. Eg, if I spent $500 on all the angpoa but my kids get $800. $300 will go into their bank acct. That exclude the angpao the parents gave them.

I save up for the kids. They have their own saving acct but tie to my name. I put their $$ in eSaver kids cos the interest rate is higher than normal POSB. I want the flexibity to move the $$ ard so i dun put them into fixed deposit.

I have endowment plan for them. That i consider a gift from us to the kids.

U got 9 elders. hahaha.. i think mine only 5 but already "har har chuan liao"

Peach this is the flowers i am talking about. she is crazy about them. she got them since birth. when she touch them, music will play. she likes these toys and remote controls n telephones.

You gals are pressuring the wrong person, must ask my wife if she want to go or not, not me. She always "stalk" this thread as well. So "arrow" her instead.

As for ang pows,baby bonus, 1st month birthday etc, we got a account for Gerrard, so we kind of save for him for the future. Me same case as PM, Gerrard account got more money than me...sob sob...

My hse only 4-rm leh, dunno can accomodate such a huge crowd..Haa..haa...I dun have much furniture in the living rm anyway. Only sofa, coffee table & TV. If everyone sit on the flr, should be okay lah...some can go into the kitchen..hee..hee...

Ur feeding schedule similar to mine. Actually i think ur boy can finish 3/4 cereal of our rice bowl is a lot! My ger used to have d same reaction too, will get angry as she eats initially. Then i tried making d cereal not so thick so easier for her to swallow then she ok liao.

Evelyn, i do pop by the Dec 04 thread sometimes, but not as often as over here. You bringing your elder gal along? i can't imagine bringing one of the twins and baby out. Think i'll be super no xing2 xiang4. haha. cos my twin gal always want to be carried, and my twin boy keeps running around. (but in an environment tt they're not familiar, they'll both wanna be carried).

yenny, nope, nv draw commission. My husband did draw the ben3 qian2 for their bday celebration though. I opened this e kids savers account for my twins. Used that to put their ang bao money. But the kids esavers account must have contribution every month. So they've been 'giro-ing' $50 each from me every month.

And today, my MIL gave my elder gal the wrong medicine again. Happened on Monday, then today again. Sad man.... sigh... when these kinda things happen, i really wish i can be a SAHM.
 
Aiyo then they have to grow so many teeth if really will cause fever lah, lao sai lah then very stressed leh. Or issit d first few only huh?

Anyway responding to d earlier posts, Gillian started sitting about d same time she finally flipped! Which was abt 5 mth+...She doesnt like to lie down flat nor do things like flipping or rolling around? Maybe dat explains why she can sit upright unaided by 6 mths cos she spent more time trying to sit than lying down...but she definitely cant crawl yet or pull herself up to standing position like some of d other Jul babies here like Z-lia's n JP's

Ha same, pigeon wipes used to be hot favorite for my ger during diaper changing time, now sian liao prefers tissue box, which she could hardly hold onto...

Btw some say if let bb sit too early not good for d spine? Cos it's sort of not mature yet? My sis didnt approve of me putting my ger so early in walker due to this reason, anyway dats her saying lah...
 
Dsii, I read somewhere that excessive drooling coz by teething will cause lai sai. OC - Dunno whether coincidental or true, my boy had fever just before his first tooth came out.
 
no la.. actually she didnt give the wrong medicine..just gave extra.... sigh. forgot to give 1, and gave extra for another one.. i told her again today to please listen to me... hai.. then wrote down on the medicine bottle and paper

Then my friends came to accompany me for lunch & dinner, so have to entertain also...hee..hee..otherwise, I think I'll b bored to death!

Actually, I'm very pleased to go visiting (even north east) cos it gives me a reason to go gai-gai with the girl.. Must get my lazy bumbum out of the house sometimes and bring my girl somewhere else (besides the grandparents' houses).

Re. feeding semisolids
Mummies.. I'm very failure leh.. My girl turned 6mth yesterday.. and you know what!!! I haven't bought her rice cereal yet.. so haven't fed her.. And to think I was so excited to feed her something other than milk.

Going to buy organic rice cereal this saturday, then will start feeding her.. Actually I also dunno if I should buy organic or not.. cos I probably wun be going 100% organic (things like fruits etc she'll just eat what we buy from normal market)..

Question:
The Straits Times Mind Your Body Supplement suggested feeding rice cereal exclusively for 3-4 weeks.. Is there really a need to do that?
 
Mums, do u have a similar problem as I do?

Do u all find it hard to get ready to go out?

I am always late for meet ups or when going out always end up leaving my house at ard late noon.

First, I have to make BB sleep at least once so he wont be cranky. After he sleeps, I will prepare his FM, hot water etc etc. Now even worse, got to cook his porridge and bring it along.
If lucky, he have not wake up, I will make use of the time to go bathe. By then he shld have woken up lioa. I totally have no time to make up or blow dry my hair.

Going out with hubby also the same. Coz he doesnt know what to bring and what to prepare. So he just get ready himself. Bathe, style his hair and wear shoes. Best part is, he can keep asking if I'm ready when he obviously sees a mad woman running around the house trying very hard not to miss out anything.

If its a last min appt, lagi worse! The whole house messy like hell.
 
PM i have the similar problem as you do. it will take me at least 2 hrs to prepare and go out. Worse still my girl only wakes up after 11am so by the time i bathe her, get ready her food and get myself ready, it would almost be 1something.

but if i have appt, i will try to get up early to prepare everything first b4 waking the princess esp on Sunday when we have to go to church.

hehe i put my girl on her swing and let her watch her vcd then i can go bathe

With my hb ard is much better cus he can help me prepare everything. he is much more detailed than me haha he should be the SAHD haha
 
Lucky u! have yr hb ard to help you. I be happy if my hb dont ask me to do this and that, eg ironing the clothes that he wants to wear to go out...
 
haha my hb ask me not to do hsework except iron his uniforms. weekdays he doesn't take care of the little girl except playing with her. Weekends he bargain with me that he would change her diapers at least once a day! he dare not bathe our girl yet. he thinks she is so fragile.
 
ylc, your hb is so nice. my hb doesnt really have chance to play with baby during the weekdays as well. so weekends, apart from slpg (haha!), he'll keep asking me if he can carry her (when she's happily slpg in her cot). And of course, i wouldnt allow him to disturb her slp. But when she's awake, most of the time, he'll be slpg. haha
 
PM, haha. i'm always late.. always have to wait for the 'right' time to go out. must wait for the twins to fall aslp first (if im not bringing them out), or wait for them to finish their nap (if im bringing them out). For Germayn, i'm not so particular. I can handle her if she wants to slp outside, but not the twins. for milk, i'll bring the usual ebm and ice pack and thermal flask. but the past few outings i dont bring these anymore, cos didnt really go out for long time.

he knows i m tired taking care of the little one, sat he will take care of her in the morning so i can sleep later... but he can't take care of her for long hrs, she will always cry for me haha
