hi hi
How's everybody ...i'm back from my long long labour! Here's my birth story:
<font color="RED">14 July Friday</font>
6.20am - Admitted to KK Delivery Suite for induction. Need to induce cos baby movement getting lesser.
6.50am - Did VE and 1 cm dilated. Gynae inserted the prostin pill. 2 hrs later transferred to normal ward to wait.
6.10pm - Transferred to delivery suite to check dilation. Dilated 1.5cm. Gynae inserted 2nd prostin pill and because gynae wanted to manually stretch the cervix, she gave me laughing gas and managed to sretch the cervix to 2cm. Felt very high when breathing the laughing gas ... like flying like that. Transferred back to ward to rest and wait after 2 hours.
9.30pm - While watching TV, suddenly felt some watery discharge. Thought its due to the VE, so change to a new pad and continue watching TV. Already started to feel some contractions but not that painful yet. Then suddenly felt a gush of water coming down and nurse confirmed that waterbag has burst by itself. I was then immediately pushed to the delivery ward.
10.10pm - Midwife informed Gynae and Gynae advised to proceed and give epidural first before doing VE (as I had earlier requested for epidural and gynae knows that I'm terrified of VE). More and more contractions started coming and Anaesthetist came and administered epidural into my spine. Damn painful. But after that, no more contraction pain
. Should call it "happy"dural.
11.00pm - Gynae came and check. Only 3cm dilated.
<font color="RED">15 July Friday</font>
2.15am - contractions reducing, getting lesser and further apart. Midwife proceeded to put me on oxytoxin drip to aid dilation. Started with a 3ml/hr dosage. Dosage slowly increased to 24ml/hr when no improvements in contractions.
4.15am - Midwife did a VE and found that its only 4cm dilated. After checking with another midwife, she proceeded to increase the oxytoxin dosage to the max of 30ml/hr.
6.30am - Midwife did another VE and found that its about 8cm dilated. Happily informed me that we should be expecting the little one to arrive at about 8am.
7.25am - Gynae came and did VE. Informed that its 10cm dilated and show hubby baby's hair from below. As I have no urge to push, so continue to wait.
8.10am - Midwife came and informed that epidural ending so ask me to start pushing. Contractions getting more and more painful as epidural ended. Pushed and pushed and pushed ......pain, pain and more pain. Pushed for nearly an hour until I got no strength.
9.03am - Baby Ryan arrived!!!
* Gynae then proceeded to stitch without epidural... terrible pain.... given laughing gas but no use ....then after that vomitted twice and got fever some more ....
Luckily went to induce cos when baby came out, his embical cord was one round around his neck and one round around his body. Luckily his cord is long enough... if not cannot imagine the consequences.
