Hi Paula,
no no, i am not a good cook, u can ask Xavier, sometimes he doesn't want to eat my hardwork. I just follow some recipe books, try to come out variety of food to "hong" him eat
Kell is so cute n sweet. helping u around n now protect u!

Hi Wen, Sunflower,
My Bread cake is not like bread pudding, its more like a franch toast w/o butter, the texture is a bit like mee hun kueh, good for those who likes bread. Hey u reminds me that maybe i shd make bread pudding for X. The recipe is as follow:
3 slices of bread (can be multigrain and wholemeal bread too)
half a egg
milk + blended fruit that forms 50ml(i agak agak the amount like 2 slices of mango, or 1 peach/ nectarine, or 3 strawberries)
Cut or tear the bread to small pcs, or about 1cm cube. Then mix w egg, milk and fruit of ur choice. After that, pour inside a microwavable container, the ingredient shd be about 1.5cm thick, set high for 3 mins. U wl need longer time if it is more liquiid.

Lowan Rolled Oat:
Saw tdy's newspaper, NTUC is having Australia fair, selling $3.50 for 1kg fm now till Oct 10, usual price is $4.80. Timing just nice that some of u just mention want to buy n try

Isetan sales, toys 20%+10% is for members on tdy only, there wl b only 20% disc fm 2moro onwards.

paula,
u r so cheeky

happy.gif

lyn,
btw i'll be taking SQ n request for bassinet. Does their bassinet comes w/ mattress? My travel agent said i need to bring my own mattress. is that true? how big n where to buy? wah.. would that be bulky? did u bring ur own blanket too for A in ur flight to Oz last time? Can't imagine how big my carry on bags with all these stuffs..
btw do u know if there's any weight limit to use the bassinet? or is it for any baby below 2 years old regardless the weight?

Mum2B,
Remember to pack all your mini toiletries in those small ziplock transparent bags. The US security is very strict ... they refused to let me enter the last time my toiletries was in the pouch and they insisted that everything with liquid should be contained in those ziplock bag.
And if you are in transit in USA at their night time, pack some bites for the lil ones too cos' they do not have 24 hours restuarants in their airports.

Dor,
Yea, XP Priori is the one that comes with the extra lock. Priori is the one that does not comes with the extra lock.

Wen,
Dont worry about the amount of hair when my granny was still around she used to say that the less hair a woman has, her life will be a more comfortable one. Old folks tale.

Good morning
happy.gif

Mum2B,
dont need to bring own mattress, you can just make do with the SQ blanket. Ask them for more then you fold and lay on the bassinett. As for blanket, they do provide the normal purplish and blue checked one. Not very thick though.

Morning all,

Mum2B, have a nice trip!

Mspiggy, Wes ok already?

Paula, must we get swim diapers for tmr? Normally she does not wear any diaper during swimming.

Paula,

mspiggy, aiyoh...must be very heartache to see him like that, try to use cold press if fever is still quite high. Monitor him closely...hugs to Wes.

Paula, I dun have, if need then I will go and buy today. What size to get ah?

ms piggy,
The other time when F had false measles, her fever was v high for 3 days, then followed by rashes. Just keep watch and make sure it doesnt hit too high.

Good morning!

mspiggy: Hope Wes is recovering. Just have to monitor his temperature regularly.

Stella: Aiyo, I just bot the Lowan rolled oats from NTUC on Wed evening at $4.80. Btw, cooked the oats mixed with egg for ER yesterday morning and he loves it 8) My maid commented that the oat was a bit sweet though. Should be natural sweetness right?

Spicegal: I also have spare swim diapers. No need to buy. Mine is huggies M size, suitable for 8-12kg. ER does not have swim pants so I'm intending to let him just wear the swim diapers. At the pool, prob let him wear his thermal swimsuit.

thanks ladies... will keep close watch.

tinklebell,
what's causes flase measles? wes's peak was 39.8. super high!

MsPiggy,
Okay, monitor for mucus. Viral fever should not be accompanied by running nose and cough. Learnt it from Kell's pnemonia epsidoe.

Spicegal,
Dun need to buy lah. I still have remaining pieces left. What size does J wear now? I go back and check what size okay? Then sms u cos at work today.

mum2B,

Yes, just do it... Dun worry too much
happy.gif
You might be surprised it's pretty easy to travel with toddler
happy.gif
Just be prepared for what are the basic needs, and possible unexpected hiccups. It will be a breeze already cos you are prepared and understand the "troubles".

No need mattress. They will give you extra blankets as the base of the bassinet. The air-stewardess will usually help you to lay everything properly first. Pillows also provided.

Yes, there's a weight limit. You can check SQ website. It's stated there.

Thank you for your offer
happy.gif
It's ok. My sis is currently in US for a month. You might not have as much time for shopping. Sometimes very troublesome to look for something with a toddler. Take everything slow
happy.gif
Dun squeeze and expect to do a lot there
happy.gif
Then will not be so stressed.

Have a nice trip!

mspiggy
hope wes is ok.. ethan also juz had high fever recently.. understand your xin ku in taking him now..

btw, any1 noe how's the q for the toyrus warehse sale? thinking of going there during lunchtime? Tks!

mspiggy,
Re: false measles, I documented it in my blog... extracted it for your reading. Probably caught it from some other kids. Runny nose is also one of the symptoms. But cant really confirm it's false measles until the rashes come out... or unless u do blood test.

What are the first symptoms of roseola?
The initial signs and symptoms of roseola include a sudden high fever that lasts for 3 to 5 days, irritability, bulging "soft spot" on the head (fontanel), swollen glands in the front or back of the neck, runny nose, puffy eyelids (due to swelling with fluid), and mild diarrhoea.

How high can the fever go?
Quite high. The fever averages 103.5 F (39.7 C) but it can go up as high as 103-106 F (39.4-41.2 C).

How should the fever be treated?
If the fever is not causing the child to be uncomfortable, the fever need not be treated. It is not necessary to awaken the child to treat a fever unless instructed to do so by a health care practitioner.
If you wish to treat the fever, acetaminophen (Tylenol and others) can be used to lower a fever. Aspirin should NEVER be used for fever in children or adolescents.
A child with a fever should be kept comfortable and not be overdressed. Overdressing can cause the temperature to go higher. Bathing with tepid water (85 degrees F <30.0>) may help bring down a fever. Never sponge a child (or an adult) with alcohol; the alcohol fumes may be inhaled causing many problems.

Is there a rash with roseola?
Yes, but not in the beginning. When the fever disappears, a rash appears. The rash is mainly located on the neck and body, especially, the abdomen, trunk, and back but it can also be on the arms and legs (extremities).
The rash appears as separate little raised dots (papules) or as a flat (macular) rash.

What is most remarkable characteristic of roseola?
What is most striking is that the child seems so well despite having a high fever.

Mum2B,

have a nice trip and enjoy...

Morning Mummies,
Today is Friday so expected to be quiet.
Busy today leaving for business trip to Philippines on Monday.
Maybe can only chat with you all when I am back on 8th Oct.

Cutie,
How does your children takes it whenever you have to travel? I'm very worried abt Kell's emotional state cos I have to resume travelling next year. Can't run away from it.

thanks tinklebell. after reading... wes seems to be having roseola! he has slight running nose and he's still as active but yesterday he has no appetite though. hmmmmm....

mspiggy,
if he gets rashes after a few days, then it must be roseola. if not, maybe something else. But good to hear that he is still as active despite the fever. let him drink more water and take his fever medicine regularly.

tinklebell,
he doesnt want drink water after he's sick else he loves drinking water.

even sweet barley doesnt interest him.

Paula,

Luckily both my kids stick to their daddy more than me, normally Zach will stay at the nanny house if I out because his daddy cannot manage 2 of them.
When I leave, Zayn will normally cry so make me feel very bad but no choice...will try to told her few weeks before that I will be leaving and get her prepared. I don't think there is way to control their emotion because we also hv this problem..
Normally I will also buy some stuffs for them when I am out so she knew that I am out to buy her things and she will agree to let me off.
Kid are kid...

Apologies to Sun2flower for flying ur kite that day.
