lyn,
I bought the potty for my son long time ago but he refuse to poo in it...only a few times in the beginning. I also lose heart.

poohy,
I watch the vcd for violin already. It's in chinese with lots of explanations and demonstrations. A will watch during demonstrations, but run away during explanations.

Serene,
I am also losing heart. hahaha... Sometimes very tiring...

lyn, serene,

try elmo toilet training dvd
happy.gif

keke my fren showed to boy, he auto-toilet trained liao. haha let me know your success rate muacks

lyn / serene
my gal will poo into the potty, but she still cant tell/signal to me that she wants to poo..usually i got to gauge by her body language...so sometimes, she will haf already pooed some into her diaper...

think for potty training, dun get a too fanciful potty, else tot will be too engrossed with the functions/sounds/etc.

lyn, can start with reading books on potty, and encouraging bb to sit on potty? also, can use a doll to show the doll sitting on potty. rewards stickers might come in later when our tot understands. once they get used to sitting on potty, need to ask them frequently to point to potty once they have an urge to pee.
happy.gif

training pants help too, as they will feel wet when they pee....

haha I think june thread is full of shoppers & travellers! it never fails to come alive with these 2 topics!

any food lovers??

mtdt, email the map to me le

toto,
Which book do you recommend for potty training?
A knows I will not be happy if he poo or pee when not in potty. Sometimes, I let him go diaperless... He will run to one corner to do his biz!
Now, I ended up he will poo a few times a day, little by little. It seems like he dare not poo. But he refused to sit in the potty too. At one point, he was fine, but it seems to be getting worse. I am using 5 minute suggestion now. I am starting to wonder whether it's me who's not sensitive to what he's telling me.
How to get him used to sit in the potty? Any suggestions?

Lynflower,
Dunno lei. I got the basic one for Kell from Mothercare. I am planning to get her on potty for the first two to three months then will get that mini cushion seat that would hook onto our adult seat for her when she is more confident.

For Bladder and Bowel Training in Teach Your Child it states that we could help them by:
For 12 months old
1. To start with, dont think of a potty as a potty but as a toy, a toy seat for instance.
2. Let your baby play with the potty putting things in, taking things out, using it as a hat and etc.
3. Very gradually, you can start putting your child on a potty for a few moments.
4. Dont expect anything or let him stay overlong. If he does pass some, give him some praise.
For 13 months old
1. Encourage your child to sit on the potty after each meal for a few minutes, but this isnt the same as her needing to
For 15 months old
1. Always take your lead from your baby. Ask your child occasionally if he wants to go to the toilet. The answer no is pretty reliable.
2. Your baby wont be able to retain his urine for very long once hes attracted your attention, so just dismiss accidents cheerfully.

Stephanie,
Kelly would be able stroke her belly AFTER she has poo-ed and point to her diaper if it is very wet. So, not enough time to catch her poo or pee.

lyn, hmm.. potty training book? i have a few, but J was not trained via the books. he started sitting on the potty when he was 6 months, i think. since then, no miss - always poo in the potty. pee pee... sometimes when he is playful, will forget. he knows how to pt to the potty, but sometimes, he does it after he pee.

he loves to sit on his potty to read books or flash cards, and he will refuse to stand up after his biz is completed. maybe he has gotten so used to his potty, that training is not that difficult.

did you get training pants for A? maybe you can try that? potty book - Ernie's potty book seemed interesting - the color and pic is very clear. Too Big for Diapers... I have the Karen Katz potty book, but I don't think it's very ideal.

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all your well wishes.... aiyo.... was wondering how come so many msn yesterday congratulating me... hee hee so now become public news liao.

lyn,
Same here. At the beginning he dislike sitting in the potty, after 1-2 wks, he is okay with it and still poo in it. Soon after, he refuses to sit in it already! Nowadays, he sit only for a while, when we turn on his fav TV programme....but i guess he concentrate too much watching his programme that we hmm long long, he oso dun want to poo!

sunflower,
What is elmo potty training? a programme?

tinklebell,
Paiseh, I'm the 1 who announce yr good news. :p Hope you don't mind. Everyone is happy for you.

Hello
happy.gif

regarding potty training, i've yet to start. Wes able to tell us he's pooed and pee BUT only after he's done with it. too late to catch them. hehehe

serene,

My YJ dun like potty.. based on my mil, YJ made the sound when she was about to poo, my mil took the potty, and YJ saw the potty and ran away, the whole house full of poo poo haha!

Serene,

So far i have been following dynasty to melbourne, perth, taiwan and NZ. It has been good and food wise also good. Tour guides ok too. Now the tour guides who went with us can still recognise us
happy.gif
And we often pop by natas fair to visit them :p

The school started twinning programme this year. The students will visit and study the university/high school in the other country and the rest of the time spent on sight seeing. This year my colleagues and 20 students went to melbourne. My boss asking me whether i am interested to bring 30 of them, together with 2 colleagues to Yunnan next year. Planning to go the week after school reopen, so that airfare cheaper. 2009 maybe going India. When i heard india, i told my boss i rather go yunnan haha! Teachers to be on rotational basis to bring students on such twinning programs.

By the way, whom u booked with for japan trip? How much?
