rodeo,
poor ER, any bruises on his face? Mayb put mattress all over the bed?

I’m going to UK in Oct / Nov if everything goes on smoothly.

Aishite,
I’m going to Southampton, quite a distance from London, abt 1.5hrs car drive away I think. Will be there for 3-4 years. I’ll love to have the chance to experience the special ed system there, hear a lot of good things abt Caucasian education system for the special needs students. But I’m not sure if my spore special ed qualification will be recognized there. Moreover, still need to take care of my 2 girls. Am hoping that maybe if both goes playgroup for some days, I may have a chance to volunteer in a special ed school/center if there’s one nearby my home.

hello mummies

paula - glad to know you are happy with your choice of sending Kell to school. it's really good that Kell is adjusting well.

MTDT,
Help! Was finalizing the birthday venue with CBC and ended up, they are charging me S$40 per pax for sandwich, chicken sausage and ribena. I get them to fly kite cos they revised the price to S$70 per pax when I wanted to throw in more items. Anyway, have to source for alternate venues and finalized soon cos’ I have confirmed the party entertainer and balloon sculpturionist already.. Any suggestions?

Paula
Take my place lah ... I help you decorate.
You dress up as the Queen and your hub as the Jester aka Clown. My hub can do photography.

Try ToyRentalClub at Pasir Panjang, they entertain for these. Frisk and Romp at Big Splash also avails. Former is better cos there are heaps of toys there, latter has lots of running space.

More pics of Kell ... just arrived in my mailbox

happymum123: Still duno if he had bruises on his face cos he's still sleeping when I went to work this morning. Ya, think have to put mattress at the bottom part of the bed too.

Paula: Glad that Kelly is enjoying her school. The teacher really makes a diff. My aunt who is a CC teacher actually advised me to send ER to CC only when he's at least 3 cos she feels they are too young to fend for themselves if we send them at 18mths. She said that any CC is good if the teacher is good.

MTDT,
Yea, she is born in 1985 if I remember correctly. She reminds me of Jolin, that artiste … despite her young age, I must say that she is incredibly good with kids and extremely creative too. Really kudos to her …

I think Vivi knows the teacher’s sister …

Kell ar … she refused to get into her uniforms loh! Says ‘blue shirt no mei mei … no pretty’ Until one fine day, her teacher dressed her up in school and subsequently, she is very proud to put on her uniform. These few mornings she has been saying ‘blue shirt mei mei qi qi’ Can’t stand!

Celeste,
Yea, real happy! And this pic says it all.

Rodeo,
I agreed with you on that … it is really the teachers. And the unique thing about this school is that it seems that all the teachers there are familiar with every kids including their personality trait.

Paula, so many pretty pictures of Kelly. She really very 'ai mei' huh, must be mei mei even in school...LOL!!

I also agree tat teachers play an important part...Jerica's form teacher is a young Malay, I think around aged 25. Somehow I find the kids like being around the younger teachers. Jerica tend to be more afraid of the older teachers as they talk louder and looks more fierce.

Her chinese teacher is from china, very loving towards kids and full of passion for her job. I think this is very important.

Toto, hope J can sleep throughout the night from now on. Jia you!!

Rodeo, hugs to ER, ya you should put mattress on the floor in case of such accidents.

agree - teacher QC really impt. esp for this age, full of passion n loving is far more impt than anything.

Kelly - hahahaha... she "ai mei" dunno learn from who leh hor!! *wink wink* hehehe

mtdt,

her sis is my ex-colleague.

My gal is still waking up at night for feeds..we actually let her be, cause her intake during the day is quite little. Nowadays, she will insist on watching her vcds and reading her books over and over again before she falls asleep at night..can see that she's tired, but somehow she just refuses to sleep...she's sleeping ard 11 plus every nite ..sigh

mummies, do you know where I can get nice Lightning McQueen banners? Would like to deco my place a bit for J's BD.

lyn, is your dad going for his surgery in Sin or JB? Coincidentally, my FIL also going for heart surgery. been quite stressful on us... have to seek second opinion. his is more than a heart bypass, need to replace some valves in his heart. and he is already 76 yrs old.... high risk group...

toto & lyn - all the best for their heart surgery. must be stress for u gals.

toto - last time concourse have alot of mcqueen stuff... but think now all shifted out rite? u still hv time to get from "USA"? am sure birthday direct or allaboardtoys hv

hope your dad & fil will be fine...

HFMD

wah..see the news last night..got 1000+ case in 1 week only.so scary.yesterday brought celest to see doc for her cough again & block sticky nose..i thot it maybe virus but doc only said she got allergy rhintis...ask me to change my bedsheets etc more often..scare of dustmites/dust etc.. cham..today skip school again coz her body temp abit high but not fever..

Btw,do u all koe where can we get those 'hand sanitiser' that they use in school to disinfect their hands etc? tinking of geting a travel-size type so that i can disinfect celest's hands b4 i fetch her home etc..

Toto, wishing your FIL all the best for the Op.

MTDT, the partyware shops still at concourse right? Did they move out?

Angeline, dun worry too much, just maintain good hygiene habits in Celest. If you want medicated brands, can check out pharmacies. I bought small travel bottle size ones at supermarket and kiddy palace, cannot remember the brand, the packing has got pooh/tigger/piglet cartoon on it.

toto & lyn

hope op will turn out well for your FIL & father.

angeline,

pharmacy/NTUC/watson sell travel size sanitiser.
there's a few brands.

vivi,
Oh... My hubby applied deferment leh... but rejected
sad.gif
Your hubby can help bor? Very sian leh...

vivi, spicegal, mspiggy,
Thank you...

toto,
Valves surgery is very high risk. Is he going to put man-made valve? When is he going for surgery? It's indeed a stressful period. I was munching on whatever chocolates I had in my fridge. Now no more chocolates to munch. kekeke... We are looking for second opinion at MtE this Friday. And waiting for the appointment with surgeon in JB. If do in JB, will be 6 months later. Most recent medical research presented in a conference last month, states that going for bypass or not does not prolong life. In fact, patients who went thru' bypass has shorter lifespan due to poor diet and not taking good care. But dunno the researchers reliable or not :p Medications can be used to control the situation. Now gotta weigh the risks of the surgery.

angeline,
Can get from Watsons, Guardian, etc. Lots of places have.

spicegal - i tot i read before tat all those concourse shop shifted out already... not sure as din go see since zav's last yr 1yo party. hehe

I attended training course at SHRI last month at tekka mall..the trainer said that those shops from concourse will reopen in tekka mall hence the renovation works..but i am not sure if they have started operations anot ..

lyn,

my hb said within 6 months newborn birth, can apply deferment for reservist leh... maybe your hb can apply again to quote that need to help with the newborn twins ? Else stressful for u that he will be away whole month ...

lyn, toto,

hope your father & FIL's surgery turns out well. Its indeed v stressful to hear our parents' health challenges ... I wish we can do more to help make them healthier.

toto/ lyn,
i can relate to the stress u r going thry. my dad had an open heart bypass more than 15 years back. Without that, i think he would have gone up there... So far so good. At the end of the day, it has to be supplemented with a healthy diet and lifestyle.

mummies, thanks for your well wishes. my FIL's surgery will take place in May. Tmr we are seeking 2nd opinion at Glen E. His current doc is also at Glen E.

Lyn, not sure whether he will be using man made valve. I will find out more tmr, as I was not present at his prior consultations with his previous surgeon.

Toto / Lyn,

Talking abt heart surgery make me think of my dad...

My dad undergo some heart surgery called Cardiomyoplasty in 1994 .. think he is the 2nd one in sg to had this ops.. and less then 10 in the world to undergo this ops at that time... very major ones... Doc says this ops will help him for the next 10yrs only... and he really left us in 2003. Didnt even get a chance to meet chelsia... so sad... aiya...

At that time i was jus a sch gal... and real stress lor... thus can understanding what u gals are goin thru..

Anyway, please do take care... and all the best for their ops...

celeste - wow.. u realy jioing the whole kampung huh!! ;p

Telok Kurau n balestier also goes there huh!! maybe i shd go check it out too! :p

hand sanitiser-
just bought "for my home PG", pretty ex for small bottle- Dettol with small pump dispenser. We get the kids to wash hands before/ after food, but this age group ah... have u seen my Irv salivate before? Hahaha, unstoppable! Before they leave, I ask the parents to use the sanitiser too, just in case lor.

Digress abit... just now Ahboy saw saliva droplets on the floor, so he said, "WET WET!". He took tissue to mop up... then another puddle appeared while he was DILIGENTLY mopping, so he worked on the new puddle... then another, so he dried that up too... then another. He was drooling as he cleaned, LOL!
