(2006/06) June 2006 MTB

mspiggy, J wakes up 2 times for milk feed... faint... and he will look for daddy.... he does not want me to pat pat or carry him... only hb.

wonder how we will survive when daddy relocates to the US in June. i am seriously contemplating moving to the US with hb this June...

toto,
how lucky!!!! when you're preg, you'll appreciated that J only looks for Daddy.

Wes only plays with Daddy... when comes to napping/sleeping... he only wants me! very very tiring.

June very very soon! Maybe you shd try to give him night feeds now.

Btw, does he drink just before he sleeps? And what time is his dinner? Or you can try incr his feeding amt?

sunflower, oh yes - we will celebrate J's BD first. hmm... hb leaving 1st week July, need to get everything done and packed by end June. initially, it was planned for me to go later, but i have second tots on this now, after seeing how attached J is to daddy.

mspiggy, J sleeps at 8 pm, and drinks 270 ml before bed. at 12 plus, he will ask for milk again. then again at 5 plus. dinner is at 6 pm.

Paula, Pine Garden's cakes are very yummy, I like their lychee martini cake, very light and refreshing...triple choc is nice too.

Tinklebell, take care and get well soon.

Sunflower, wah...you so fast divert the arrow to royal queen liao...haha..

toto,
I see.. Wes sleeps at 9pm and he will drink abt 240ml. But he will want feed ard 6am+ then go back to sleep till ard 7.30am. His dinner also ard 6pm

What time you sleep normally? Else you can give him another feed just before you go to bed that way you dont have to wake up again.

Hmm..Toto, actually by now our tods should be able to sleep throughout the night without any night feeding. You may wish to increase his last feed intake or give him water instead of milk when he wakes up.

Tinklebell, can get barney cakes from prima deli, minnie mouse cakes from bengawan solo.

toto,

my J also still wakes up. Sometimes wakes up to 3 times in a night. Last week, my hb was in camp, I took over night duty for both kids. Lucky S only wakes around 6+ for milk. But J! She woke up at 12plus, 3 plus and 5 plus! And frankly I am very lucky she just wakes up for milk and then sleep. There are times when she suddenly wakes up and cry like nobody's business so loud and throwing tantrum and all, in the middle of the night. Can go on for at least 30min-1 hour. For no apparent reason... give milk also dun want, we turn on the tv to distract her also no use. Gotta cry till she happy then she will calm down watch some cartoon and drink milk and sleep. Dunno why.

Lucky for me, my hb did most of the night duties for J. I took care of S's night duties and now that he hardly wakes for milk, I dun have to wake up unless J wakes for a crying frenzy.

I dunno what's wrong, both my kids wakes for milk for a long time. S only does not wake up recent months. At times he will still wake 1 time in the middle of the night for milk.

btw, are u going to quit your job if u go with your hb? Now is already mid Apr.. means u gotta tender soon ah? U wont be working in USA?

maybe i should give J water.. i am sure he will cry for milk. he has been sleeping thru the nite until he started PG. cos at PG, he missed his milk feed, so make up for the loss at nite. ha ha....

mspiggy, i sleep abt 10, then wake up to feed J abt 12 plus, then back to sleep, then bounce up again abt 5 plus... then i am on duty... sometimes J wakes up as early as 5 plus - 6. have been in sleep defecit mode since long long ago.

poohy, your J like my J... dunno how come hor? one nite, he woke up at 12 plus for milk, and daddy was at work, and he cried till he vomitted all over the place, gotta ring hb and we both waited up for hb to come home.

i guess you must be very tired given your hb was in camp last wk. how come our tots keep waking up for milk? and J is really hungry, he can finish 240 ml in the middle of the nite...

i will not quit my job, i can still work in the US... i have sounded to HR that i might relocate... they are supportive, though they prefer that i stay in Sing. will see how... lots of logistics involved... house, car, maid, J's school, etc.

re: sleeping thru.

my boy only starts to sleep thru last month.

sigh. Since birth, i have wake up 3-4 times at nite.

but am glad that he ultimately sleep thru.
happy.gif

toto,

happy.gif
Sleeping at 10 plus... is a much looked forward thing to me.. but problem is even if J sleeps around 10plus, S will still be awake. He can tahan till 12! And recently he is obsessed with mickey mouse clubhouse. Keep wanting to watch it all the time and at night still watch till so late. I am trying to limit his time to 1 hour a day now... going to start enforcing tonite
happy.gif

vivi,

funny thing for S is... many times when he goes through a time period whereby he slept through, soon he will start waking for milk again. We were happy in vain hehee
happy.gif
But now that he is much older at 3 years, he really wakes much lesser.

toto,

nice job hor.. so supportive. I am waiting for my no.3 to be borned and then quickly go to another company. Sick of working here and feeling the world has gone on.

ya dunno why our kids like that. I always hear my colleagues tell me how theirs slept through right from the 2nd week coming back from hospital or 2nd month etc. Funny, such good things never happen to me. Pray this no.3 is going to be an angel.
happy.gif
Else I die... cos I will be taking over night duties for no.3 to give my hb a break.

toto & phooy: It must have been very tiring for you to wake up >1x each night to do milk feed. ER will only ask for water if he 'wakes up' in middle of night. Err, it happens prob on alternate nights. Just to share, he has 210-240ml milk around 915pm, sleeps around 10pm. I give him 120ml at 7+ the next morning which he may not finish at times. His dinner is also around 6pm.

toto: Which milk feed will he miss due to PG?

rodeo,

my girl loves to torture us lol
happy.gif
She can finish 240ml definitely but the thing is ... she will doze off as she drinks... so at times she may not finish all the milk before she fell asleep ... To have her finish as much as possible during her last feed before sleeping, I will even hold her bottle for her and keep twisting it to try to wake her to drink lol
happy.gif

tinklebell

Bengawan mickey/minnie design cakes.....i oso considering this as celest oso likes mickey...

Paula

is the cake going to be for CC or the party? coz better not order any 'alcoholic' cake for the CC..

Paula
Pine Cakes v nice, pls get the Lychee Martini ones, get all the guests drunk!
And I saw the piccie of Kell at RP, haha, she's easy to spot, no uniform!

Toto
S's been waking up a lot the past 2 months, and she wants water or milk. I think it's a passing phase, fingers crossed that it gets over and done with quickly! And God bless in the relocation to US, pray that you will find good friends and a warm community there. You planning to bring your maid over?

poohy: Hmm, doze off while drinking milk ah....if you feed her earlier will she still doze off? ER still refuses to hold his milk bottle when drinking milk. He'll even choose the person to hold his milk bottle :p

aishite, J's waking up is not a passing phase. been like that since the start of the yr. he used to take 4 milk feeds a day, and can sleep thru. since he started PG, he takes only 3 feeds a day (missed his afternoon tea feed), and he decided to make it up by waking up 2xs a nite for milk.

re US - not sure if i will bring my helper. initial plan was to bring her if i have no. 2.

VV, hope D's sleeping thru is for real. ke ke...

Little Jerica dressed as soldier girl on Drama Day.
happy.gif

http://www.learningvision.com/gallery/album.aspx?id=145

Hearing all about the night feeds makes me relieved that Jerica is able to sleep through the night without much fuss, last time while she still wakes up for night feeds, I gave her plain water instead of milk as advised by my friends, after a few times, she sort of knew that no more milk in the middle of the night.

Rodeo, J also refuses to hold her bottle at 1 stage, and there was once I refuse to hold her bottle for her too, in the end she simply refuse to hold the bottle and rather don't drink her milk.

mummies : i also need to source for another CC - Credit card !!!
heeheee
am trying to place an online order with polo.com and they cant accept my SIn issued cc
sad.gif

also cant pay by Paypal cuz my billing add is not in the states.

Has anyone ordered directly from polo.com before successfully with a Sin based credit card ???
If so, pls let me know !!!

Thanks in advance !!!!!

toto,

I wish I can go... I think I will try but probably cant... cos my colleague got promoted and within 1 week, moved over to her new role. She has a v important project starting this week and now its mine lor
sad.gif
I gotta catch up... very overloaded here.

Maybe I will ask my hb to go with her if he can take leave.

spicegal,
jerica is soooo sweet!!!

K Ong,
I've tried and failed too. I think they do ramdom audit on the CC... some mummies get thru their orders!

kong,

I ordered with polo.com with amex card before. But I think that was just plain luck that they din choose to check my card since I even give a wrong PVV number (the 3 or 4 digit behind the cc).

aishite: Ya lor! Only on rare rare occasions will he hold his own bottle and refuse you to even touch his bottle. Btw, seems like boys don't like to hold their own bottles. Happens to both my neighbour & fren's boys! They will hold anything but their milk bottles :p

spicegal: Jerica is so sweet in the pic 8) So is she holding her milk bottle now? Difficult for me to make him hold or go wo milk cos mil will not let that happen. My maid will also just hold for him.

Mspiggy, Vivi, Angeline, Rodeo, Thanks for the compliments.

Rodeo, yes she is holding her bottle now. For that incident, she refused to hold her bottle and I refused to give in to her and hold her bottle for her despite her cries and screams, so in the end, she just goes to sleep sobbing and leaves her milk intact..sometimes I enforce such discipline on her, even though after that I will regret and feel that I am being a bad mummy.

Hello...
Finally all 3 kids sleeping... phew... It was a tiring day for me and my hubby. Later I gonna sleep liao.
Just roughly glance through. Read again when got more time.

tinklebell,
I also fell sick twice during the last pregnancy. My immune system was significantly lower during pregnancy. I thought it was my health or becos of the twins taking all my immunity too. Come to think of it, maybe could be the stress and tiredness. Or rather, I was exhausted most of the time looking after A and chasing after him, plus all the housework.

aishite,
Their pre-nursery and nursery is in Mandarin only. Still thinking about it. My family already very chinese. hahaha... A can pick up chinese words very very fast as compared to English. For example, for English words, I gotta repeat maybe 10 times before he knows, but for Chinese words, just once and he get it. So he's very Chinese already... Later send to Chinese medium classes, next time cannot adapt in school also jialat... kekeke...

toto,
A do not wake up at night since I weaned him off breastfeeding already. I had a week of him waking up crying, and gotta carry and pat him to sleep. After that week of no milk at nite, he dun need to wake up for milk already. Nowadays, he will only wake up to climb onto our bed and sleep. Not much waking up on our part
happy.gif

pp,

sad.gif

lyn,

happy.gif

Julie,
Not sure if my reply is too late, my girl goes to bilingual playclub every Sunday at Forum. Agree with Lyn that teacher is important. So far, the lessons are good and my girl enjoys the lessons. I have brought her to JWT gym for playgroup before, and frankly, JG’s lessons are more well-planned and equipped with resources. The teachers are better too. However, I do not like the environment at JG forum. I feel that JG does not enforce hygiene rules very well. Almost every lesson, hb (he’s the one who bring her to lesson most of the time) will see kids coughing or sneezing badly attending classes. And many parents do not follow the rule to wear socks which I think is unhygienic, cos many todds still crawl on the floor and mouth things. And the teachers or staff at JG never question or stop such behaviour. My fren whose girl goes to JG Evans Road also has the same comments, she ever see parents bringing children with rashes to classes. I suspect it’s due to JG’s strict make-up policy, that’s why many people continue to bring their kids to lessons despite them being unwell. I have lots of problem claiming my make-up lessons during the last term too, because of MC issues. Because of this, I feel that JG is very commercialized. Of course, my negative comments are more of the administrative and running side, if you only look at the content of the classes, the lessons are enjoyable and good, only wish the teachers will step up the hygiene level.

Aishite,
Lovely meeting you on Saturday! Think I have met rodeo, mspiggy and you so far only. Wonder if I will have chance to attend gathering and meet more mummies before I go UK, chances look slim
sad.gif

CC
Many June toddlers attending CC now. Paula, Kelly is so cute in her pictures!! Hopefully, Xin En will get a chance to attend playgroup or CC in UK, but think gotta wait till when she’s 3 yrs old.

Self-feed and household chores
Xin En is able to self-feed but she lazy, doesn’t want to do it! She every xiao jie one, everytime ask her self-feed, she self feed a few mouthfuls, then pass spoon back to me, ask me to feed her! Faintz! Last time, she very good, always want to help with household chores, bring dirty cloths to laundry bag, fetch her diaper, bring cup, bowl to kitchen, throw diaper into dustin, etc. Now that she can do all these very well and I assign the tasks to her, she doesn’t want to do it, will tell me no and go play with her toys. Sigh…… Last time I will try to make her help out at least a little, nowadays, cos of pregnancy, no energy to do that.

Toto,
Me same as you, Xin En is also very attached to daddy for certain matters, plus she’s more well behaved when daddy is around. Hb is going to UK about 2 months earlier, and I already wonder how I’m gg to survive that 2 months….. I always joked with hb that by the time he sees Xin En in UK 2 months later, she will turn into a Tasmanian devil!

Paula,
I order Pine Garden’s triple chocolate cake for Xin En’s 1st birthday. It’s nice, but I think ‘cos I heard so many good comments before tasting it, it didn’t quite match up to my expectations. But it’s still nice lah, their cheese cake is very nice thou. I still think four leaves has the nicest cake, too bad their designs not very nice.

Poohy,
Can it be that J is overstimulated during daytime or just before her nite sleep, that’s why she wakes up and scream and cry? I notice that if Xin En plays a lot and gets very excited in the evening, she tends to wake up screaming in middle of the night, and needs to be soothed back to sleep.

Lyn,
Hi-five! Xin En like A, pick up Chinese words very fast compared to English. I have been trying to make her say cow for very long, then last week she saw the picture of cow and tell me, mama, niu niu… think my MIL teaches her and she picks it up immediately. When people speak Mandarin, she picks up and says it very fast, for English words, I gotta keep getting her to repeat it. Think cos Mandarin is all single syllabus words. Now, scare she go UK doesn’t understand people there!!!

Good morning!

ER fell off the bed with his face flat on the floor in the middle of the night during his sleep 8( Don't know how he turn & roll there. Sigh.... 2nd time he fell off this month liao. 1st time fell on mattress side where hub was sleeping, this time round not so lucky.

Happymum123: When r u leaving for UK? Don't worry, xin en will have no prob picking up english since she'll be more exposed to the language there.

Happymum123
Wow, UK, nice! Which part will you be and how long are you intending to be there? Your training with the special children education will come in really useful, if you are planning to teach a little over there, cos the community there is v supportive of this.

I intend to make a trip to London sometime this year or next and will be bunking with frens. Maybe can meet up wif you if you are in London too :)

HELP...

Anyone know whether will it be considered late submission if we drop the Form B into the letterbox today?

Celeste,
i think need to reach IRAS on 15th, not dropped in letterbox.

why not efile? deadline is 18th for efiling.

mspiggy / sunflower..

Thanks for the respond...

I also heard that as long as i throw it into the letter box by 15 apr... still ok...

E-filing... Old people dun believe in efiling... I've already efiled mine... now am asking on behalf of my uncles n boss... haha

Okipoki, MsPiggy,
Thanks, will most probably orderfrom there.

Sunflower,
I sure hereby declared that you will be inheriting the throne from me. *clap clap*.
Okay, will send you an invite to the party and yea, will arrange a gathering… maybe 16 May 08 cos Kell’s school is closed on that day. Can PM me you mailing addy? Keep me updated on Nanyang Primary School yea?

BTW, brought some toys from ELC yesterday. Quite fun … especially the nose matching ones. Will post the pic tonite.

Angeline,
Yep yep, please e-mail me! 

The cake from Pine would be for her bash on 1 June. For her school one, I think I will get from Smiling Orchid cos’ they are able to work on a 3D Elmo for me… in sync with her party theme.

Spicegal,
Jerica is so sweet!!
Thanks! Their PTC is coming … heard it will be held either in May or June. Will be very interesting cos’ it is my first time attending a parent-teacher conference! Use to dread it in the past cos’ my parent would be receiving complaints from the teacher about me! Keke.

Mummies,
I am really happy lei. I think I really did make the right choice of sending Kell to school cos’ she became such a confident child now. Her teacher chatted with me yesterday and told me that she has been a star so far … taking initiatives to help the teachers in keeping toys or carrying things, helping her friends out with their tasks and excel in crafts as in comparing to her older classmates, she can complete the art and crafts activities without help and she has been really advanced for her age. The best part is that the teacher said that she noticed that she is trying to be vocal in class. Initially, I really felt guilty of sending her to school cos she is still so young and I felt that it is really bad for me to expose her to germs and viruses because of fulfilling personal satisfaction to continue working.

Sunflower,
Just called Nanyang Primary. She said that we are too early for registration. They are currently recruiting parent volunteers only. I will give it a go since I heard quite consistent feedbacks about the teachers and the school.

paula,

NO NO NO!!!! no throne for me.
I'm very happy with my stool
happy.gif

Will PM you my addy.
keke... think you faster than me in finding out about NYPS.

vivi,
too early?! hmmm thought someone posted above that waitlist for 2006 is super long?

Good Afternoon Mummies!

Had a super long weekend cos ah ger's sick and this time very manja, very irritable...dunno if it's again TT at work. Her fever's down...just still coughing and sniffing away...dunno how long this will take to go away.
sad.gif
One thing's for sure...she loves medicine! My gila monster!
happy.gif

Paula,
Lovely pics and your ger is such a darling. I wish i can get such feedbacks from my ger's cc too. The activities in your cc also looks really exciting and engaging. Haha...think my ger is getting a bit bored with school. She's no longer as enthusiastic. Guess that's the diff with the diff fees you pay!
happy.gif

Re: Self-feeding
My ger used to enjoy it but now, not sure if it's the novelty that's worn off or she's simply lazy, just want me to feed most of the time unless it's some new or interesting food.

Re: Night-waking
My ger used to wake up at least three times a night until she was about one. THen i read somewhere it maybe their wanting our attention subconsciously. So what we did was just before bedtime, hubby and i will spend at least 15 mins quality time with her and a lot of sayanging, then bathe and read to her. It works so far, except when she's ill or teething.

Re:Letter recognition
How coincidental that some of you gals are talking about the alphabet. Me just had some revelation today too...scared my ger's so auditory that she'd be illiterate...haha! She's not interested in words/letters but she's a sucker for logos though! Just intro the letter 'A' to her today!

Re:2nd Bday
Am thinking of doing small and taking her to the disney cafe at anchor point. Anyone's been there? ANy feedback?

Hello gals...
I have some time today
happy.gif
My sis took leave to accompany me at home, and she showered for A the first time! hahaha... Then my mum came to my rescue...
happy.gif

Gals,
I am looking at leapfrog products. Any of you know what is the difference between "Leappad" and "read and write leappad"? I am so confused... I know "my little first leappad" is horizontal, but can that be used for writing? Which one is better? Anyone knows?
