Mspiggy: Ic. ER's food mainly cooked by maid so i just give instructions :p Heard from mil that my maid sometimes anyhow cook also.

Joyfulmum: Err, quite balanced except for lack of fruits. I am 'training' him like steam fish cos don't want him to end up like my hubby - don't like fish generally esp steam fish while I'm a fan of steam fish :p Fish is good for brain development too. So far, he's been taking mainly kauru (ie ngou hee). He don't really like salmon, think texture rougher than kauru.

Celeste: How's your new maid? Got a better one after the one with hearing problem?

Wes also having fish for every dinner. Most of the time ngou hee as well. Will add dried scallop and meat for taste only.

Tried giving him minced meat last week, he's taking it well. Guess once awhile I will add minced meat for him to eat too.

Maid is real headache lah... This one that i am having now.. is youong 25yrs only... looks like i have to take care of her too... sianz...

Ask u all hor.. how often do u all let maid call home? mine ar... think i too good to her.. let her call everyweek... till now she no heart to work after knowing too much of whats happening in her hometown..

I may sent her back if she still blur blur like sotong... and fedup.. maybe really have to become SAHM liao... or if can drag drag till chelsia 2yrs then go childcare / playgrp...

Now my maid also talk/sms on phone every sunday cos she had handphone now! Well, long story lah! Anyway, I let her had hp but kept with me, only give it to her every sunday lol! So she can sms or her family will call her.

Actually if she is good, can work, let her talk once a week never mind lol but if she blur all the way or no mood to work, then u had to tell her to wake up if not, she must go back!
 
Celeste: Actually I don't let my maid call home. She never request also :p But her aunt working in Spore. Her aunt bot for her a hp a few months after she started work. I think she uses hp to sms home.

Anyway, told her I feel she got no heart to work here last night. Then she told me becos she tired. Duno why she feel tired when my home is so small, just look after my son with mil's help + she eat so much snake here & there. Then this morning, she told me she want to go home. So will have to change maid liao.

You got mother or in-laws at home to help monitor your maid? Your maid indo or filipino?
 
Serene: I think we should not allow them to have hp. While we want them to feel happy working for us by giving them some benefits or close 1 eye if they don't do certain work properly, they simply take advantage of us being nice to them. That's what my maid does! Sigh.....

Btw, I bringing my maid to PC's place for gathering this Sat so pls keep my comments to yourself cos my maid understands and speaks both English and Chinese! TIA!

Do update us on your japan trip when u return! me counting down to my hokkaido trip too heehee.. especially when i am still working like cow when it is already school holiday for the secondary school kids. Dunno how come more and more things for teachers to do!!! AARRGGH!

Same problem here my maid also no heart to work. She is a good cleaner thats all that I can say about her. Ask her to handwash Kells clothing that were stained she will said, yes mum, then let it accumulated and have it machine washed. So can you imagine my astonishment when I am choosing clothing for Kelly and noted the stains? Ask her to clean up the fridge she only cleans up those visible layers only. Just a couple of days ago when I reached home, I caught Kell playing with a pail of water with detergent in my room . I have told her many times that she dont have to do housework when she is caring for Kell. Do the basic sweeping and mopping up when I am back home and she can go to bed .... The worst part is that she has been damaging my things! Stainless steel spoon can be damaged fan can be damaged water bottle can be damaged and the best part is that I was told that it is damaged before got chance to see the corpse! Maids complaining about employers have been accentuated but how about maids bullying employers?!? She is driving me crazy manz.

Paula: I can't say my maid is a good cleaner. But she can play with ER. Same as yours, she just clean visible stuff, sometimes, not even visible stuff. Sigh...My maid also damaging my things 8( My mil says she broke the broom, mop and dustpan. Wondered how she did that! Then becos she did not keep the knife properly, it shaved a hole in the rubber part of my WMF pressure pot causing it to malfunction, AND she DID NOT tell me! Also spoilt the wok after using it for about 1 month. Frankly speaking, I can go on and on with the list of items which I am unhappy/puzzled on the way she do things. I'm going to set house rules for the new maid and prob give her a timetable to do things. Hope the next one will be better.

How long as she been with you? R u intending to change?

Sound scary leh, still tot of getting a maid to ease my burden.But looking at it I am face more problem.
BTW, both of you left yr little one to the maid all alone all you have someone at home to look after them, like MIL or..
 
Cutie: I have mil at home on weekdays generally. Despite all the complains, have to say that my maid loves my son and I am OK leaving my son alone in her care. When she 1st came, she was very hardworking. Things changed after she fully repaid her loan and after 1 yr, she got worse. Sigh.....

Have thought of sending ER to childcare and do away with maid, but seriously doubt I can do everything myself, esp when my hubby will not help. Thus, despite knowing having a maid comes along with these problems, I still need to get 1 to help me with looking after ER, doing the housework and cooking, etc.

Mine in fili.. My mum will drop by occasionally to spot check else chelsia is left all alone with Maid at home with 4 cameras shooting at them.. haha No choice...

She has been with me for about three months now, I think. I have been tolerating trying to close one eye on many things loh my plan is that once Kell is feeling better, I will place her in playgroup. Will start off her with day for two to three months first and when she settled down, will convert her to full day and I will send the maid home I will then hire a PT domestic helper who will drop by my home two to three times a week.

Cutie, guess we are not lucky enough some of my friends have to change 8 or 9 times before getting a really good maid but alias, I dont have that sort of patience I have been buying her calling card every month and since last month, she has been asking me to buy her calling card every week! She will use the phone once we get out of the house

think it's really luck lor..even the rich like jackie cheung got to change so many maids and in the end kena blacklisted by the philippines embassy

JMO only hor... Ezzo will be more disciplined. It's good if u have a brood of kids, or, if your kid "suits" it. I know some kids are alot more "spirited", will not do well under this method. Know a friend who was full of praise, gushing over it from pregnancy til the kid came out some time... then after 2 yrs, admitted it was causing stress instead. Cos it may be rather hardcore to other people (eg. conflict with grans etc). It's often seen as rather different from the attachment style.

Then again, maybe that's why I'm so tired, NOT doing Ezzo method. My kids sleep with me, need me to lull them to sleep, not on "schedule", etc. I know a few mums who don't necessarily use Ezzo, still have their kids able to fall asleep independent of them ie. goodnight routine, close door and let them doze off on their own.

u n HB having parenting differences? Who's the caregiver/ having a bigger role? In my case, HB will listen to my style, makes more sense since I'm the primary caregiver- I spend more time with the kids, and I'm the one spending more time "implementing" the parenting style.
He is less "discipline" type than me, btw.

The "VTech_Fly__Learn_Globe" looks really groovy, am tempted to ask you to buy for me. But read the review by 3 mummies and seems that it's not exactly the easiest of toy to manoeuvre, probably more for kids when they reach 5. Even 3 year olds who are mentioned in the reviews do it with difficulty.

But I still want leh, cos I want to use it for myself, haha. Can trouble u to get from taiwan or not, but how much is shipping huh?
 
aishite, actually i dun think the reviews re accurate! Bren turned on almost every globe and was steering the globes in the store... btw, i never read reviews!! ;-) figured reviews are done by hsewives with nothing better to do BUT complain... haha!!
