Hi mummies - So many postings yesterday!

Discipline - I started on Cephas when he turned 4 mths old. I wld smack his hand when he throws tantrums. I do it in front of my mum & my in-laws. No one will say anything. My mum will just whisper to me later " So cruel." My reply is "Better cruel now than later. Dun blame me when he becomes spoilt."

Feeding - My mum lets Cephas try some food in realy tiny amts. HB is okie with it as he feels Cephas shd try. However, they are aware eggs, honey & sweet stuff are a no no. So they dun do it. We have let Cephas try ice-cream. It was just to see his reaction. We have also let him taste a drop of lime juice. Oh, you shd see his face cringe!

Once my MIL let him try ribena & kept looking at me while feeding him. I gave a neutral unamused look and my FIL told her to stop it

HB was present at that time too. He asked me "What's wrong?" I replied " Nothing." Hee hee...but he knew I was not amused with the ribena feeding.

Giving Thanks - I am Catholic & so is Cephas. HB is not. From Day 1, I wld say " Thank you God for the milk/food. Make Cephas big, strong, healthy & a good boy." The tune is quite nice until my HB also says it when he feeds him

B4 he sleeps at nite, I wld say this prayer:

Good night God. I am going to bed.
Work is over, prayers I say.
I am not afraid of the night
You will watch over me till morning light.
Angel of God
My guardian dear
To whom his love
Commits me here
Ever this day
Be at my side
To light & guard
To rule & guide
Amen

I'm dunno. I nv use tablets before. But i must say, your flask look really clean after cleaning. No more stains and residue. So I wld recommend regular cleaning.

Nope. No smell at all. Like steriliser. U boil another round of water and discard before use. But i very "kia si" I wld discard 2 rounds of boiled water. Some brands very troublesome, but leave for 12hours or so. The latest one my hub bought only need 30-60mins. Maybe the acid stronger.

my Isaac has a congenital heart defect as well, hole in the heart. Though it does not seem nearly as serious as Even's, but seeing the story, really makes me very scared. Now just praying that Isaac's hole will close.

Ashley is very impatient when it comes to her feeding time since birth so I never got about making a habit to give grace before her milk milk time. Now that she's 6mths plus feeding time more or less fixed I must not be a lazy mummy n start to make it a point to say grace so that she too will learn. Thanks for the reminder.

I have only read throught the thread u posted and I am already crying as I type this... dun think I have the courage to clink on the link to see the pictures n video... if anything happens to Ashley I think I will break down very bad too... Indeed reminded me again I must ALWAYS give thanks to GOD for blessing me with Ashley and also to constantly pray for GOD's protection for all our precious little ones.

I dare not read the link... I work with sick children... once I had a case that made me cry for one week... Its hard to see children suffer. worse if the child is yours. I will surely go mad if anything happened to my girl

Its scary to see spoilt children.. but sometimes, I think that I'm too protective abt my girl.. i hope that I don't inadvertently become like one of those parents who spoil my kids... so far... I think its okie... but i keep reminding myself not to let my girl get out of hand next time cos sometimes... when she wails if she don't get her toys cos its too far away or she dropped it or she's just impatient... i'm too tired to scold her.. i just give it to her.... at this age, is that considered spoiling?

Think the exchange rate now is about US$1 = S$1.6. But a good guide is to use 1.65 or 1.66 instead because there are extras like $5 ON shipping and 9% US tax and VPost shipping. So if you use this formula (Order total x 1.65 x 1.09), that should pretty much cover most of the taxes and shipping cost as well.

Hi Krissie - No, didn't compose the lines. Someone passed the whole prayer to me. Iniitally was a mouthful. Now quite used to it. I feel that it calms Cephas down just before his sleep. He will be busy listening to me reciting it. Sometimes, will add it the Our Father &amp; Hail Mary too.

Hi Clare - Cephas is impatient too sometimes. I will just stuff the teat/porridge into his mouth &amp; say grace as he is bz chomping away. Haha...kill 2 birds with one stone

damien is sick again...this time is really my fault...yesterday let let try the taste of durian...and from this morning 12 am...he keep vomiting...and all the milk come out after we fed him.

just come back from the doc...the doc scolded me that i should not let him try our adult food yet...stupid me...already second time mother..still not aware of this...

doc advised not to feed him food for the next for 2 days.....so heartache...he just recovered from fever last weekend and now he keep vomit again.

hi mummies,...i went to bb kingdom today and bought a light weight pram(combi) for my upcoming japan trip. hee..yeah i gg jpn in Oct with my hb and bb and a couple who has a yr old son. yippy!!! the peg pegro pram is too heavy for an oversea trip. the combi one so compact and light and we bought it at $120. gg to put it at my mum place so she can bring my son down for walk.

i also bought a car seat from VENUS. first time heard of the brand..it comes from Poland and surprising its well cushion and quite durable and nice. the original price is 200 plus and now selling at $134 only. the lowest car seat i ever seen. heee...thot i share with you all my good buys today

I did KIndermusik with Ethan when he was 3. We had a really good time and we get to follow up with excercises/dances and songs at home as a CD &amp; book &amp; musical instrument set is given every term. It's good bonding with your child. I highly recommend it, though I won't bring Keenan there just yet cos I feel he is a little too young to fully understand and benefit from it... maybe 1.5 to 2 years old... anyway, I still have credit left from Yoga classes when I was preggers, and it can be used for Baby Yoga. I'll be taking him to bb yoga 1st... anyone else interested? We can go together... it's at Maxwell Road
