Hi gals

Just wanna update that I've finally seen my bb's heartbeat yesterday.
happy.gif
1 hurdle crossed.

When do we need to book the CL? Do we book as early as now? Need to pay deposit?

Will appreciate any recommendations. Will need the CL to also help with a bit of the hsework and cook extra for C and my hb.

Hi Mashy,

it depends on the CL . coz some CL are hot and Popular so may need to book early. Do you wan to try my CL? she has done for quite a few of us here. if you need the contact jsut let me know ya.

may - i have replied you.

wenyl - har u mean the school does give food? cos during the normal days...they asked the students to bring their own snacks. C hasn't mentioned anythg to me though. hmm...btw, is that why E got sick? haha too many forbidden food.

mashy - depends how "hot" your CL is. I took Rena's one and really have to queue 1 yr in advance. she can cook well and is willing to cook for the family and do simple household chores. maybe u check with rena. i pad a deposit of $300 before she comes.

mine doesn't talk any FM ... i think he's the smallest-sized here. Have asked doc before and it's ok though he seems to be hovering ard 3%. She said that it's ok if he's gaining weight on his own line, but if the increase in weight slows down (ie graphing shows a horizontal line) then it's a concern. Mine finishes everything in his bowl, and he can't choose what he eats and not, so prob he's just small-build. And my 5-yr old is 18 kg which I thought is a good weight.

CL ... u mentioned ur gal has no sense of urgenc. how to train her? I sense mine starting that too. hol now and he can just play the whole day despite me asking him to stop the play and do something else for a change.

.ky.

Belinda,
yes..everywhere we go even on trips, i gotta bring the bolster, tiger & dirty pacifier :S

Krissie,
Well done!! 14 months! Duncan is now 8-9mths and i'm stopping soon already.

tracie

eeee..... dirty pacifier. hopes she doesn't put in the mouth anymore.

My boy used to lug his little doggie everywhere. But ever since i told him that the doggie is mine and i just lent it to him (when he was going ard saying 'mine mine mine'), he has desserted the doggie. So now, all these stuff don't matter to him anymore. I felt like a cruel mommy like telling them that Santa Claus is not real at all.

Ha ha my hb caned her lo. Just got caned on Wed nite and Yday she did more that she is required to do. I think she need to wait till she go P1 and get scolded by the teacher once then she will wake up her idea. Remember teacher says 1 word works better than we says 10 x

For me.
Aden needs a hanky, just any hanky which he will just feel and sleep. If no hanky, I will grab towel for him.

Charmaine needed her hippo soft toy and she will just touch on the collar. So if I realli feel it is too big to bring, she will transfer the collar to a small soft toy. But last trip she made it without it. But come home she will continue

J don't carry anything to sleep, she will sleep flat on tummy and turn 360 deg. . She dun have pacifier/bolster/pillow since young. Bought but she dun like. Was joking with hb, not sure if she continue to sleep like that, will become flat chested when she grown up or not. hehe.

I always like girls with blanket and a stuff toy, looks so sweet. Hopefully meimei is more girlish.

May/CL/mashy/Tracie
hahaha, my boy loves his stuff toy for sleeping! He had a soft seal (BIL bought for him from Japan) when he was 10 months old, then I got a lion bolster from the Zoo when he was 1 years and then the list goes on. His bed is like Noah's Ark now!! He uses his stuff toys as pillow under his head.

But in CC, since not allowed to bring stuffed toys, I bought a bolster and added to his bed (he's sleeping on a single-sized bed with a rail guard), to get his bed smell on and that he is familiar with it even though he doesn't hug them. So when he started his full day in CC this month, he will use that to hug/lay his head on.

mashy,
thankfully she doesnt put it into her mouth anymore. she just needs to smell it sometimes.

meg has a strange habit of smelling things which is very similar to my sis. she lurves to smell stuff and there was once she smell one of those 'giam sng ti' (sour stuff), the tiny one that looks like bird food, and it went into her nose. Classic..we all panic and din know how to make it come out. Then she sneezed and it came out. hahahaha!

mashy - yes it is 1.8k.

both my sons love blanket ..like charlie brown. haha...recently C even brought his blankey to the see his PD.haha..

Tracie
Meg really cute eh! Still holding on to her precious pacifier? =P My boy's pacifier dunno go where already. But at supermarkets, sometimes I will tease him a little and ask him if he wants the tu-tu (in front of the baby shelves where there are some pacifier) and took one pacifier packaging from the shelf and looked at him. He gave me the cheeky eye and smiled and sayed "Yes!".

I love the smell of my smelly pillow when I was a toddler. Loved the feel of the corner edges of the pillow, ha! My mom made it dissapear when I was 5 or 6 years of age.

Hi mommies,
S still has her pink teddy bear, which she needs to sleep, she will rub the end of the hat to sleep...

Haha, actually I still have my favourite pillow which even my hubby cannot touch!

Cl,
thanks for the HOrt Park contact, looks nice, i guess have to go take a look...
happy.gif

i guess for C, he takes different things for different occasions. When he goes out, he'll carry his umbrella. really lug everywhere. Go school also carry.

Sleepwise, he'll cover himself with his little blankie first, then cover with my hb's big blankie.

When we go shopping mall, he'll insist on his stroller. Not that he wanna sit in it, he'll rather push it. And the wheels must be properly aligned.

Yah SSF,

I remember my #2 I also book her the moment i knew i was pregnant.. lucky for me coz she rejected so many calls to book her for that same period as well.

just got an sms from hubby, he received a warning email from Windows Live messenger that he has nude pics in his 'my space' and it turns out..it's meg's newborn pic! hahahahaha!

mashy - great to hear that you finally engage ur CL. better to hire someone that 'used' her before. last u need is a "complicated" CL that ruin your confinement period.

SSF,

Ya....I suspect so cos on Sun his sun sch gave out fish biscuits n I saw him happily helping himself with the bowl of biscuits. Then it was the "zoo" class "sea animal" snacks. By Wed, he suddenly had fever n now phelgmy cough. Sigh! Was still telling Rena that E is finally ok after seeing the Yishun TCM doc for the stubborn phelgmy cough that hovered around him for months. Now its all coming back again! Sigh!

Tracie,
So funnie! Ur hb must be v shocked to receive the email. Hahaha!

Sleepingdeer,
Yup Hort Park is one of the popular spots nowadays. But dunno is it open air type. Cos year end can expect lots of rain.

Tracie

Hhahaa, so funny. But really, u should be careful abt nude pics even if it's our bbs'. Coz there's a lot of paedophiles crawling in the web.

Kiddy humour
C watched this video clip of Kermit & a gal singing the abc song and he was laughing his head off. He watched it like 20times at one go and kept laughing. Wonder if your kids will react the same way:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuTXdAcJa5c

Mashy
haha, Aidan loves the Donald Duck cartoon, and will laugh his head off, when I am free, I upload his laughing video on facebook for you to see :p

Krissie
hee...my day is currently open on Monday too. Count me in if you want to meet up :p

Mashy
thanks for sharing the Kermit and Joey vidoe. It's really cute. My boy was tickled by the "Cookie MOnster" injected by the little girl. He found it funny because she was laughing.

But what really cracks my boy up the most is my hb! little actions can send him laughing very heartily and both eyes dissappear and mouth big-big!

wow looking at all of your kids diet, it seems such a long list. i think my edgar's is the shortest:

7.30am 250ml pediasure
11.30 Lunch (1 huge bowl of porridge)
5.30pm Dinner (1 huge bowl of porridge)
8.20pm 250ml pediasure

only occasional fruits or biscuits if he asks for it. We still make an effort to offer him whatever food we are eating but most of the time he will reject.

He really doesn't enjoy eating so we try to minimize his "ordeal".

oh..damine starts to complaint toothache...i only manage to get an appointment on 26th Dec...any one got good dentist to recommend..please pm me....SOS

Belinda,
Think Wenyl or CL got contact of dentist. If u have their hp, can sms them.

SSF,
Thanks for ur good offer. Nice meeting up with u. Really hope I can slim down like u after delivery. Too bad did not see C just now.

re smelling stuff
jh loves to smell his bolster. it's quite disgusting the way he smells it..like some addict.

today jh did a really naughty thing. he bit jx! dunno why he suddenly did that and he bit her real hard. can see teeth marks on her. poor thing....

may- nice meeting up with you too. C woke up not long after you guys left. Too bad he did not get to see j. J is really heavy! To all e mummies out here, i could not lift her up. Ha ha. J was sweet to let me try though. we are glad that e pram can be of better use rather than sitting in e storeroom. just try and practise opening and closing e pram before bb is out

Sy- whats nice abt hort park? Heard about it but not sure whats nice. J had a thing about slapping c. Poor c just stay there with a blur face today. Biting, pushing,fighting...you name it and all j had done so. I get so mad at times with them

Morning mommies,

SY,
poor Jx, is she ok?

Belinda,
United square has a good dentist, you may want to try them?

Krissie,
what I remember about cleaning the tubing is rinse them with water, and plug them in, but dun hook them up to the valves. Just switch on the power and the air sucking in and out will dry them.

Re: Good caterer?
ANy mommy has good recommendation for caterer? I'm looking at Meihao99, have not tried them before, not sure whether the food is good or not, any one has tried them?

Sleepingdeer
Recently I have been eating Chilli Padi I found them not bad. Can try Angeli and also Fostre.

Belinda
I use GPA at United Square. To me first visit is important. I think there is a another good dentist dr Betty something at NUH but long Q.

SY
ouch. Poor JX get a love bite from kor kor. Should remind kor kor by showing him the bite. Very painful.

Krissie,
Got this from a fren previously. It is advice from Medela US

Thank you for contacting Medela, Inc. Condensation accumulates in the tubing when the warmth of breastmilk is greater than the room temperature. The "steam" from the breastmilk works its way up into the tubing. Some possible solutions are:

1. At the end of each pumping session,

Disconnect the breastshields from the tubing

Let the tubing hang over the edge of the table or counter

Run your pump for a few minutes (you can do this while you store your milk and clean parts)

This should allow air to move through the tubes and evaporate any condensation.

2. If you have an abundance of condensation you may want to try this:

Disconnect the tubing from the breastshields and the pump

Over a sink, pour isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol) through the tubes

(this causes the alcohol to push the water out of the tubing leaving alcohol in your tubing)

Now, hook the tubing to your pump and run it for a few minutes

(The alcohol evaporates much more quickly than the water does)

You would only need to change the white membranes if they do not lay flat or if they have torn.

Sincerely,

Medela Customer Service

thanks mummies for the contact. I need to get him fix before he start to complaint again.
The last dentist did not do a good job. He feel the pain only when he bit.

SSF
For a moment I had to reread what you shared on the biting, slapping part. So it's younger brother bullying the older one? kekeke. Wow, J quite xiong eh!

mummies
can i check with you all, where do you get white shoe for your lil ones?? those for wearing to school. Dylan going for his pre-nursery but i yet hunt for a suitable one for him.

Re : GPA dentalcare
did not book the one at Uited square. manage to get an appointment @ Balmoral for him today at 3pm. HB is going to bring him there later. Hope that he will not scream his lung out.

rachel
for a moment I thot I am on 2002 thread for Charmaine P1 preparation ha ha. I bought body masters from World of sports for Charmaine. Is there a need for him to wear white ? If not then no need lah

CL
its stated their shoe has to be white wor. if not for this rule, i will not be cracking my head now haha. been looking around and most white shoes are of bigger size.

Rachel ... ask the school for recommendations? we got ours from Bata but it's a 5-year-old size.

HortPark ... the park is very interestingly set where an area is divided into small areas and each designed to be like someone's backyard. There are 3 playgrounds to cater to different age-group of kids, and we attempted to walk past the bridge towards the southern ridges ... very intersting walk coz the entire walk was set on metal rails and rather high ...

Rachel

Can get the barney's shoes, they have smaller size. I think got snoopy also, is plain white. I bought one for Clarisse to go to school from Kiddy Palace, cost me about $13+ like that.
