Flo
thanks for helping me get the photos for JH. so paiseh. so long then collect and still get to trouble u.

i have 2 colleagues going at the same time. will ask them whether they can split and carry between the 2 of them. hee, they already know i eyeing their space.....last time one of them help me carry 7 bottles back....think as long as we don't get more than 10 between us, shd be ok.

Mummies
i think JH doesn't wan to go to sch nowadays. everyday in the morn he will tell me he wants to go poo just before the bus comes....me and hb suspect he is doing it on purpose. and before he sleeps he will do the same thing too. dunno is it one of those attention seeking thing again....

yuki

it's still open. Just sent him to school this morning.

tabbiesus
think it's normal for kids to do that. My niece was also toilet trained until they went to Japan for hols. Upon coming back, she refused to go toileting and insisted on doing it in her diaper.

thanks mummies for your advice... yah, trying not to touch him too much and washing hands alot. Still no fever, and no blisters or rash anywhere else, and appetite is huge, but will bring him to PD to confirm.

On Behalf of Tracy:
Little Baby Duncan has arrived at about 9am today. She went natural without epidural! She's still waiting for a room to rest in.

Much congrats to Tracy for her 2nd bundle of joy!

mamachan - thks for sharing with us. wow...first bb was c sect. second one is natural without epi. unbelievable! she is really good...

SY,

I think Pigmentation is indiviual. I had bad ones with elijah and it did not go away. then this time it jsut darken. I have quite a few on my face and was thinking of going for surgery after giving birth..

I have these small meat lumps on my neck and tummy too. this time only the neck. but it will go away.

Congrats to Tracy...

congrats to tracy!!

wow natural without epidural.....

rena
i hope the pigementation will go away....

SSF/CL
Eh, I'm not too sure if he arrived early...I think she's supposed to be due end April/Early May? I told her that's really brave to go natural without epi...haha she replied me saying she asked for it too late, she tried to tahan the pain with the gas mask, but by the time she asked for epi, she was already 10am dilated!

Congrats Tracy !!
I wonder if I can do that for my #2.

Speedy recovery for those mummies and babies that are sick !!

RE: SPA Get-a-way
Mummies, I feel like taking halfday to go for spa package that probably include massage and facial. Any recommendation or anyone had got voucher to give away? I have a dinner @ Suntec with my friends on 08 May and would like to go for this in the afternoon. Budget about $100-150, perferbly town area at Suntec/Marina/Raffles City.

Updates on behalf of Tracy
Baby Duncan is born at 37 weeks weighing 2.77kg. As compared to jie jie who was 3.1kg (presumably at full-term)

Tracy is also my inspiration to have VBAC and w/out epi! Looks like I might have hope when
planning for #2. haha

SY
Seems like JH is saying that he want to poo-poo before school to get attention? I don't think it's just that becoz #2 is coming, but rather they are at an attention-seeking age. So tantrums (for some), telling the wrong things (for some) to get attention. I guess you would have to deal with it at the root of lying that he wants to poo just to get attention. (sorry if I sound a little harsh). If not he'll continue to think that it's ok. Our toddlers at this age, no matter how precocious they are and seem to understand, black and white can still be grey to them.

May
i got this voucher from touche that i can't use. let me check the T&Cs and get back to u.

Mamachan
i also think so..its the attention thing. i told him many times if he lies to me, he will be punished. but somehow if he sits long enough he manage to poo. this morning as he was sitting there, i told hb that he's doing it again. think he can sense my impending anger and he din struggle much when i took him off the toilet bowl. then after that he stopped.

i can sense his insecurity nowadays. yet i do not wan to overpunish him cos if it's really due to #2, i dun wan to have him having negative feelings abt it now. so trying to find a balance....

SY
I guess perhaps in this case, maybe make it a habit for him to sit on the toilet bowl before going to school? But it would mean having to get up earlier to do that. We make D poo in the toilet bowl every morning after his milk and before he brushes his teeth. All these are done before he goes to school, of course we'll have to wake up at 7am while he wakes up at 7.15-7.30am. Then I would suppose he has got no more excuses to misbehave.

mamachan
hee, i already wake him up at 7am liao. the problem is he likes to do it just before we go downstairs. got once he said he wanted to poo when we were already downstairs. i told him go sch then poo.

like today, i got up at 6+ so that i can change and get ready before i wake him up. in the end still like that. blood really boil..

mummies
today JH said something really sweet. when i came home, he said 'I love Mama' to me...the day that i have been waiting for!

cookie
You've got really beautiful kids! Kaelyn has got lovely eyes framed with long, beautiful eye lashes!! Hahaha, think your hb will have a hard time trying to fend off her suitors when she's much older!

SY
awww....that's so sweet. How I wish my ds can verbalize something like that too!

tracy
can't wait to see Duncan's photo! you rest well!

re: toilet training
agree on waiting for your child to be ready and it will be a breeze to train them by then.

dylan is now off diaper when we goes out, since he refuse to pee or poo in the diaper even if he is wearing one. he will hold his pee or poo till he is on a toilet bowl, but poor mummy here got to rush like hell to the nearest toilet lor =p beside those urgent nature calls of his, i will ask him @ every 20-30mins whether he wants to pee. for poo. he will automatic touch his buttock and tell me.

he can holds his pee during his nap time and through the night now, but i still put on diaper for him. so his diaper always got to be recycle a few times haha. really save a lot of money since he was toilet trained.

when i started training him when he was about 21 mths, i just let him go bottomless one day @ home. he became aware of the coolness and will signal when he wants to pee. but of cos throughout the training period there were accidents and he will feel peiseh for the mess he created.

mummies
i think JH showing signs of regression. i read before that some kids will do that when #2 coming. dunno how to do with it. really getting quite frustrating. this morning, he suddenly woke up at 6+ and ask me to look for his pacifier. he hasn't done that in a long time and he was very insistent that i find it. when i told him he broke it, he kept whining.

and nowadays i can't disappear from his sight without him kicking up a big fuss. when i go toilet or change, he must follow me or he thinks i disappeared.

the thing is i dun wan to keep scolding him over it cos i dun wan to create negative feelings in him yet i dun wan this to continue. and one thing that makes me stress is hb doesn't understand all these things abt kids behavioral issues when #2 comes and JH will end up getting scolded by him for all these.

what shd i do?

rachel
Your boy is very good! I've seen how he went up to you to tell you he wants to pee. Was and still am very impressed. Really sounds like a breeze for you to toilet train him. Mine still wakes up with a heavy diaper. He can control his pee when outside and is conscious when he pees in his diaper coz he will "Tell" us "Pee". We let him go diaperless at home and wear underwear but still have accidents happening. He will only tell us,"Oh No! Wet!" when he had done the deed. I guess I would have to go with the flow bah.

SY
Since JH is quite a smart boy, I guess you might consider the reward system? LIke every good behavious he gets a star? Though I'm not sure how effective it is and how it might affect that he needs to be appraised each time he does something good and will cause him to seek that kind of attention when he's older. But I guess it's up to your style of handling things bah.

mamachan
JH wakes up with a heavy diaper too. only let him try to urine in the morning but so far no success again. i just do the same thing lor. one day hopefully he will suddenly know how to urine at the toilet bowl..

yeah maybe i will try the reward system again. there was one morning when i took really long to convince him not to follow him and after that i gave him a sticker as reward and he was really happy. but also quite heart pain for me cos he was sniffling away outside the door as i was in the toilet washing up. and i cd hear how he was trying to hold back his tears.

hopefully this phase will pass soon. when i checked with his teachers, they said his behavior in sch is normal and in fact getting more independent and progressing. yet at home he is regressing...haiz...

RE: Toilet Train
Jamie has no progress as well. At one period of time, she is almost toilet trained already. But now back to usual. She only tells us after she had finish pee or poo. As for night, I will ask her to go pee before sleep, usually till the next morning, I only find one time pee in her diaper.

RE: Sensitive of #2
I had been telling Jamie that we are planning for a didi or meimei to play with her. Not sure if she understand. She likes to jump and land on my stomach when I am lying on bed. So recently had been telling her, next time baby stay inside, she cannot do so already, else baby will cry. From then onwards, she likes to whin and start kick fuss if I am out of her sight. She kept wanting me to carry her instead of hb, I dun think I can withstand her weight anymore (she is about 15.5 kg).
Eg. Last night I left the bedroom and get hb to attend to her while I go out to the living room to iron clothes. The minute I am out of her sight, she start whinning for Mummy. I end up have to iron the clothes in the bedroom. Can't imagine when I am really preggie.

tracy,
CONGRATS! It will be a whole new world with #2. Take care and enjoy!

Flo,
Isaac managed to get a place for the afternoon class at PT. Will be bringing him for assessment next Tues. So yes, Mel and Kirsten has 1 more classmate! I'm thinking of starting only mid-May cos I want Isaac to take the Chicken Pox and Flu jabs first. And I want to getting him to nap for a while in the morning... but I think it will be difficult. Does Mel nap before going to school?

Re. Toilet Training
Isaac is making ZERO progress in this. For a very short period, he will indicate that he has pooed. Now he doesn't say anything and worse still, when we ask him after he pooed, he will not even admit it!

RE. Chewable DHA
I recently bought this from my LV spree.
http://www.luckyvitamin.com/097467299993.html
Isaac will suck and chew on the tablets and I guess it taste all right since he does not spit them out. I give 2 tabs a day. I do find that the DHA amount per tab is quite low, like 50mg per tablet. 2 tablets only 100mg.

RE: Sensitive of #2
i do not have the problem during my pregency with #2.
My elder boy did not really cling on me..coz i m too busy with my studies and work (doing SAP project, where there were to many deadlines).
During my last stage of pregency, think around dec05. He just travelled with my parents to china and Hong kong for 2 weeks without me around and infact he is ok without me around.
I dun think i will be able to cope if i am preggie with #3. Damien is just like superglue..and green eye monster.

SY
At one time, hb and i really want to try for #3.
Then we hold back, Duncan is going to P1 next year..need alot of my time to coach him on his school work.
Damien is like Green eye monster. Duno if i can cope.
Actually i really feel like having #3. But on one side, i am pretty selfish that i want to have some of my own time.

Friends told me:
1 kid = lonely
2 kids = fighting for attention
3 kids = they will start to love each other

duno if this is true or myths....

SY,
My Birthday is March leh. In this case cannot use this voucher huh?

Babylon,
For me, I will definitely stop at 2. No courage to go for #3.

Denmy & Cookie,
So envy to see the nice pics of all ur kids. Wonder when I will have my turn to show two grown up kids. haha..

SY
Hmmm, I was told once by the pre-school teachers before that it's possible for the child to have 2 type of characters, different from each other in school and at home. They could possibly be on their best behaviour in school and follow the crowd (peer pressure perhaps?) and at home, they can possibly turn into tyrants much to the parents' dismay. For my case, D has yet to grasp the sticker-star-reward-system yet, so will be hard for me to encourage good behaviour via that, as much as I would love to than using the "rod". He remembers the "rod" better. Ha!

babylon
Go for #3 lah! They will only stay small for a short period of time. But of course saying is easier than going through it. But I must say that mums with 3 children in this thread are doing really well!

RE: Gross Motor Skills
Mummies, can share abit about ur child development in this area?
Jamie only learnt how to cycle a tricycle this week. Not sure if she is slow, but her attention span is quite short. Only cycle a short distance, after all the praising, she will stop and walk away. She enjoys playground though.. is able to climb up the stairs pretty fast and go down the slide at fast rate.

may,
Tabby v slow. She dunno how to cycle or sit on those cars. She can climb up the slide at paragon by herself but when it comes to tricycle she dunno how to steer or pedal. Up n down stairs she's ok.

May
then probably may not. cos the voucher requires IC to be used.

Jia you on your #2...

Mamachan
yeah i think he exhbits very different behavior in sch. but teachers said he has been very cheeky also. recently he was put on timeout. the best part is he actually came home to tell me he was on the naughty chair and told me what happened. i felt he seems to be telling me the truth and verified with the teacher. turns out to be true. so he really getting cheeky in sch also.

May
for gross motor skills, think can use the health booklet as a guide? JH can't cycle on the tricyle yet. prob cos we dun really give him the opp also. the last time i brought him, he made me carry him in one arm and push the tricycle with the other.

Hi Mummies,

Thank you for all your concern

thanks all mummies for the well wishes! I not steady lah, jus asked for epi too late! Was enjoying the gas mask too much. Between 3am-630am with the gas mask and 'transported' to zouk and having '1 for 1' long island tea, singing 'heaven is a place on earth'. hahahahahaha! By the time the pain hits me...epi was too late and besides had to wait for epi doc for another half hr AND somehow the nurse took soooo long to process my request for epi! So it was prob God's arrangement.

My gynae said i'm the girl who suffered the most in life. Emergency c-sect and now natural wo epi. I've paid my dues!

Here's Duncan! Still preferring sleep over suckling so he hasn't drank anything till now. only one feed of glucose and he's not demanding any milk too. But i'm trying every 4hourly lah.

1377578.jpg

tracy
Duncan looks slightly different from his jie jie hor? has lots of hair! and very fair too =)

haha your labour story sure is funny, but you having the gas mask can tong for so long is really something man. since Duncan prefer sleeping now, you might as well sleep with him and take plenty of rest. get plenty of rest while you can till this handsome prince of yours decided to stay awake when you want to catch a nap =p

you still in hospital or home now? who is helping you with your confinement?

tracy
u back home already? duncan looks so cute and handsone.

esther
glad to hear that leroy is discharged. hopefully he will be on a speedy road to recovery
