hee, actually i do feel better after posting abt it in the forum. plus hb did sense that something was wrong and on fri night, he volunteered to meet my parents' for lunch on sat. (my hb always doesn't like to go out so early on sat and usually he wants to take his afternoon nap before we head out of home) so i do feel a bit more pacified.

tell u something funny. yesterday night, JH was playing with my old mobile phone. he picked it up and said he's calling my mum. he started to have a conversation using the phone. he went' hello popo, how are you? popo good morning, hello popo bye bye.' and he went on and on while me and hb just kept laughing away.

last week, he came back from sch and showed me how to do his yoga poses. quite funny. they have bb yoga every fri. he can do 2 poses now.

yesterday so angry with my hb's family. so bo liao. my mil called at 10+ at night to say that my sil not happy that jh cannot fit into the clothes she bought for him and cannot wear for CNY. dunno what kind of logic is that. if cannot fit means cannot fit right. what's there to be angry abt....i told my hb if pple want to buy clothes and insist that JH wear it when it's not the right size, then save the effort. the polo T is so big that it is can cover his butt...how to wear like that. as if i wan to bluff them that cannot wear right. so pissed that i told my mil if she really so hung up abt it, i will bring the shirt to her house during CNY and let him wear in that house only.

haha, so cute of JH with the yoga poses. Meg also comes home trying to tell us about her school frens sometimes.

Although I feel slightly beta this morning, I've decided to get the GP to refer me to ENT later. Anyway under company account. Yesterday daytime I could tahan the pain without panadol but come night, I had to resort to panadol in order to sleep. The pain seems to come at night. So I'm afraid tonight will repeat..

yesterday i was at the health and wellness fair. apparently Kidds pharmaton got some acidophilus chewables for kids but i din see it. tot it wd be good to give jH some.

The bday bash is just a week away and a number of mommies have backed out last min due to other commitment. Given the tight budget we are working on, it seems unlikely that we will be able to proceed with the bash based on current $20 per head we have worked on earlier. The committee has originally worked on the assumption of closer to 45 people but looks like the attendance may drop to 30 - 35 next Sat. Also we don't think is fair to ask the remaining people to top up the difference.
we know CNY is round the corner and most of us are busy at work given it’s the start of the year. In that case, shall we postpone the bash to after CNY to 1 Mar (this is the only date the venue is avialable)
We can’t cancel the bash now as Mamachan has paid deposit and Cookie has bought some items for the party pack. Can I appeal to mommies to try to make an effort to join the bash (and also not to back out last min as it makes planning very difficult)?
It has been a while since we have a gathering. I think is a good opportunity for everyone to catch up and see how the babies have grown over the year.
Kindly indicate if you are OK with the new date on 1st March. Thanks!

Just to share my joy.

Ashley was helping me with the red packets last night and she requested to be given a stack of notes to pack herself. Being cautions, i counted 12 pcs of $2 and pass it to her so i will know if she oack wrongly. Surprisingly she counted 3 pcs of $2 and place them in sets - total 4 sets, then allocate 1 red packet to each set of notes. After diffentiating them, she then folded the notes and put them into the red packets.

Surprised that she can be so systematic without prompting. haha.

Megan does her bit too by helping to seal the red packets.

need soem advice. JH keeps saying things like "XXX stupid" "beat pple". what shd i do when he says that? i tried to correct him, got angry with him etc but he still persist in doing it. he thinks he's funny. so i dun wan to harp too much on it also. how to let him know it is not wrong? now i decided to switch tactic and whenever he says such things, i will say he must say 'love pple' or "xxx clever".
any other ideas to distract him from it?
 
not sure where did he got it from..heard from my mum that a few of his classmates are sick...
he just started to put on a bit of weight and now..lost his appeitate again...totally reject solid food..due to his ulcer

i know what you mean. Megan fall sick pretty often too. Her weight keep hover around 10.5-11 kg........ She eats alot but never put on weight.

I have big problems too . Elijah has been very noti as well. terrible thing he does. he has become lazy since this maid came in. whenever i ask him to keep his own toys he will call out the name of the maid and ask her to keep and yesterday he was riding on his toy car and sitting on a story book so i got him to keep the story book and he ride his car to the book shelf and the maid was sitting infront of the book shelf. Can you guess what E did? he threw the book on the floor and ask the maid to keep.

I was shock.. and my MIL laugh.. I dun think it is funny .. i think my son has a serious problem. even this morning something like this happen again... i am so worried.. leaving my son at my in laws place really change my boy.

my MIL was the one who taught him how to scold pple stupid. he has been doing it on purpose since then. as for beat pple, i dunno how that started. maybe cos sometimes he got spanked for being naughty? so he started doign the same thing to us.

for me, if my gal says something not right, i will correct her with firm tone and strict voice; and reasoning to her. and also, i will tell her that if mummy doesn't like it when she says that. so far, still ok lah.

re: toddler keeps saying 'don't want'
ladies, need your advice, too. my gal is testing my limit.... she kept saying 'don't want' to almost all the things.... taking shower, brushing teeth, going to mil's place, etc etc... everything is 'don't want'. we tried soft and hard methods, all don't seem to help in long term. does your kid behave like mine?

I think that's the problem with having maid. i don;t know about you but sometimes i find my mum let ashley order the maid about. I don;t want her to be too reliant on the maid so if i see it, i will stop her and ask her to do it herself else i throw away her things.

Once we were out of the house and ashley was suppose to hold the jacket. Along the way the jacket was pass to me.... knowing ashley i kept it out of sight from her and ask her. She don;t remember where she put it and ask the maid. When the maid said she doesn't know (in fact she knows cos she saw me keeping), ashley told the maid "Hey, you are the maid, you are suppose to remmeber!" I am very shocked. My mum find it amusing and comment that the maid can;t cheat or bully her. But i am ashame and i definitely don;t want my children to be like that. She kena big time from me that night.

Sometimes the older generation tend to teach the wrong things. LIke sometimes my mum uses ashley to scold the maid hence ashley develope such bossy attitude towards the maid. I have to remind her again and agin to speak nicely and say please etc if she is to ask the maid to do things for her.

Megan is also like that.... ask her to do things, she say 'don;t want.' Tell her not to touch or eat certain things "i want".......... and she can be very persistent in crying to get what she want. I am the stone heart mother who can just leave her to cry.....cry till enought then you caome and talk to me.....sometimes i threaten to lock her out of the room. She is often not scare till i actually carry her towards the door.

caleb say no quite frequently, esp during shower time! My hb will use his fingers to 'tan' his thighs when he repeatedly refused to go and shower! Then he will guai guai follow.

Pros and cons having our parents/ in laws looking after our kids. On one hand i know that they will be loved, on the other hand........hai...... more of less spoiled.

Ashley is like the maid's supervisor at home, checking if she cleans the cabinet throughly etc and if not, ashley will point out to her and ask her to explain why didn;t she clean that area. More demanding than the mother............

Ashley can understand a little malay and once my ganny and the maid exchange some comments on Ashley in malay. Ashley stormed into the bedroom and told my mum that great granny and the maid say bad things about her. haha. My granny indeed was commenting that ashley's mummy is very quiet but her daughter totally oppostite........, very talkative. haha.

Are you ok wih Ashley supervising the maid around? My older one's like that too ... he'll tell my helper in a commanding voice (by example .... me *sigh*). I do not think it's right for a young child to tell off the adult, even if the adult is wrong. So I'm watching their interactions and correcting him till she goes off. In fact, I've told her before of all the negative impact that she's brought to this family and though she seems aware of that, she's not making any much effort of it. Eg, she keeps quiet when my son hits her and expects my son to come and tell me. And when my son told me, she still was not telling me the truth till I confront 2 of them and she's seen to be lying (perhaps to protect him).

I don't like ashley's commanding tone. I don't speak to the maid like that. AShley can be demanding in every way. Sometimes she do enjoy doing housework with the maid but yesterday, when the maid said "We can do ..." Ashley corrected her and say "Not we, it's you who do it. So you should say 'I'"............

My maid is very clever. Once ashley beat her on her head and she was very mad and she raised her voice at ashley and ashley cried. The moment i reach home, the maid quickly come explain to me what happen cos she also knows that ashley will come complain to me. I don;t blame her cos i will be mad too if a kid hit my head. But i emphasis that she did correct by telling me but she cannot beat ashley herself.

Ashely can be very straight forward. Once in the car, the maid accidentally sit on her hand and didn;t apologise. Ashley immediately tell me "XX sit on my hand and didn;t apologise." ... the maid quickly apologise and ashley replied "Only when i tell my mummy then you said sorry right? If not you won't say right?" the maid said sorry again and ashely told her 'too late'. So i start on the concept of forgiving..........

Having maid is like that. Esp when you are not there to supervise. That's why when my part time maid comes, she will offer to pick up my boy's toys on the floor. But I will refuse and make him clean up himself. Don't want him to make it a habit. It's his responsibility and I expect him to do it.

Have u tried reverse psychology? I find that it works well for children who just doesn't wanna follow what u ask them to.

It's a phase that she will outgrow. Don't worry.

reverse psychology ah? i tried also. for certain things can, but for those that she hates i.e. shower and brushing teeth, she's really serious about it when she said 'don't want'.... i put bath toys in the bath tub for her to play also no use. *Sigh* most of the time, we have to negotiate with her e.g. after you finish shower/brush teeth, we will do this and that.... i don't know if negotiating method is good or not in terms of parenting leh...

hope it's just a phase...

my boy also hates brushing his teeth. but he likes to play with the tap. So he'll play with the tap when my hb brushes his teeth at the same time. Of course there are times when he will just scream and scream and refuse to let us brush. sigh.

Mommies,
The bday bash is just a week away and a number of mommies have backed out last min due to other commitment. Given the tight budget we are working on, it seems unlikely that we will be able to proceed with the bash based on current $20 per head we have worked on earlier. The committee has originally worked on the assumption of closer to 45 people but looks like the attendance may drop to 30 - 35 next Sat. Also we don't think is fair to ask the remaining people to top up the difference.
we know CNY is round the corner and most of us are busy at work given it’s the start of the year. In that case, shall we postpone the bash to after CNY to 1 Mar (this is the only date the venue is avialable)
We can’t cancel the bash now as Mamachan has paid deposit and Cookie has bought some items for the party pack. Can I appeal to mommies to try to make an effort to join the bash (and also not to back out last min as it makes planning very difficult)?
It has been a while since we have a gathering. I think is a good opportunity for everyone to catch up and see how the babies have grown over the year.
Kindly indicate if you are OK with the new date on 1st March. Thanks!

wow Ashley surely sound very particular with your helper.

Kae also the same.. these days with the helper, she is very very fond of everything also "Wati COME!" sound really like my MIL. From dirty dishes to wash, to wiping the table, to toys drop on the floor. She also beat my helper when she cant get her way, if I'm around I will make her apologise.
I think old folk usually behave the same way.. they always find it amusing that our toddlers can "order" the helper around. Old folk probably dun find anything wrong because they did it themselve.

i saw a thomas the train product like this at a thomas the train fair in AMK Hub during Christmas time. Selling for $29.95 i think. So i think you should be able to find this in Singapore. And cheaper.

Is it so cheap only ? The last time I saw it in Japan I thot quite exp so never buy. There is a mummy under WTB selling hers off at $80
 
hi mummies,
finally consulted ENT and cfm sinus is swollen so given nasal spray to help and MORE antibiotics! shall not say whether i'm feeling beta or not, cos everytime i think there's an improvement, wham! the pain comes again. Last evening 7pm-10pm was agony. managed to sleep only from 12mn-4am. Hopefully it'll get better tonight.

Hubby wanted me to stop the antibiotics but i decided against it. Cos hubby himself, MIL, BIL, SIL and SIL's baby all down with flu. Beta protect myself, wouldn't want to be hit by another round of flu!

Re:Haircut
When I returned to ILs last evening, I was shocked to see Meg's hair cut real short!! Very sad...FIL said she moved while he was cutting so caused a lobang and he had to cut it short.

sigh..they did tell me going to trim the hair and i told them keep it sitting at shoulder length. This is a real drastic haircut...lemme go home take pic and post tomoro..
