I got 2 noisy boys so I always joke with my hubby that they are as loud as the surrounding noise so its insignificant.
dont worry about when Natalie wants to call. my boy is slower at wanting to walk. here is quite stressful, during his 15mth checkup, the paed say have to teach him about hand, feet, eyes, ears, nose, mouth so now we teach him one new word every few days so that hopefully he remembers. so far his favorite word is car and apple.

talking about discipline, I have a real big problem with rae.
shes impatient, rebellious and 'violent'!
she bullies roy. she hits him too.
recently, she screams when she doesnt get things done her way. the frequency is increasing.
but the frustrating fact is that she knows the 'what not to do' things. so she will purposely wait for you to notice before attempting them!!!!!
eg,
she will climb onto sofa, stand up,
call for 'mummy' or 'aunty' or 'ah ma'
then make sure we are looking at her in horror.
and yell 'JUMP' 'JUMP' then 'fall down'.....
and grin and even say 'silly'!!!
when we ask her 'can you jump on the sofa'.
she goes 'cannot jump'
and will even tell us what happen if she jump .. 'fall down'..'pain'..
wah piang....
see the rebellious streak!!!
this apply to touching powerpt, taboo stuff..
but she will put on a big act when we scold her and even say 'sorry'!!! n put on supercute face.
now when she throws tantrums, we ignore her or distract her with something else (she has short attention span n very goondu).
but her tantrums n screaming frequency is increasing. i think shes on the verge of terrible twos.
Tantrums i can still manage at the moment, its her screaming that i want to stop.
she doesnt scream continuously but what i dont like is she scream whenever she encounters difficulties (like toys stuck, cant reach for something etc)
only when we remind her that she doesnt need to scream, just ask for help. then she will stop briefly and say 'halp' but will scream again if we dont assist her immediately.
i want her to stop using screaming as a solution!

Unbelievable! Rae knows more than 100 words, she only 16mths though. Lach, I must say Rae Ann is a smart girl! She is so intelligent!
Same here, Wilfred also will scream if he not gets his way. But not so bad lah! Usually I will distract him when he starting to act in that way and tell him why he should stop the behaviour. If he is still wanted something by screaming, I will just pick him up and go for a walk. Actually, most of the time our little one just wants something but they do not need. Wants always come first to them as their little minds are unable to hold on to our instructions for long. Hence, if you give in to her demands when shes screaming, she will learn that screaming gets her what she wants. I think such behaviour must be nipped in the bud when she is still young. Remember that do not give in to her demands. When she has calmed down just comfort her with hugs and kisses and praises her for not screaming anymore.

If my elder son Wesley is doing something very naughty and it is no effective to use a stern voice or an angry expression at him, caning will be used as a last resort to make him listen to us better. However, he has been very hardly caned by us lah!
Just for sharingmy ex-colleague is a Christian. He told me that Christian family definitely will have a cane at home. I asked him why? He said when the child really behaves naughty, they will use the cane to cane instead of hand cos hand is to sayang the child not to use for beating the child. If the parents sayang and beat them using their hands, then the child will confuse when the parents use their hands to sayang them.

someone - non christian also told me the same thing for the use hand for loving, cane for beating. but i dun believe la.. just imagine
the child uses his bare hand to feed himself with biscuit, and at the same time use hand to do other stuffs...... so does it mean he will be confused?
furthermore, how can we be using a cane on a toddler of less than 2 yrs old even though he is extremely naughty?
For me, i do not have a cane at home and i am dead against the usage of cane. for the thing abt blaming the floor, i dun understand why hv to do it, we will also confuse our little ones.
like declan now is damn confused. my mil teach him to blame the floor when he fall down , blame the table/chair ... everything when he hit by accident.
now when declan is playing and he could not get the lego right, he blame the lego. my mil ask me why my son like tat. i keep quiet... cos she start the whole thing.. by confusing my son. and now she expect my son to NOT blame the lego? crazy isnt it.

rae is very smart and intelligent. prob declan has a damn lazy mommy who has no time to read books with him. he knows many words, but does not speak.
this funny boy can do actions... when u ask him to act like a chick, he put his palms close together on top of his head and move his fingers... like the rooster moving his rooster crown. mm he can dance when u ask him. and he can imitate aeroplane.

Seagal : NO but how about rubber bands ? haha ... my cousin used rubber band on his son whenever he touches the hi-fi system. very effective according to them. till today, their son still doesn't dare to touch it (He's 5YO now). we tried a few times but always fail cos the rubber bands will fly everywhere except on the hand. great for training shooting skills! haha....xiao!

S will beat the floor or furniture if she falls but not for other things. it's more like a way to distract them and stop them from crying.. not so much blaming the objects.
like YU, we also act blur if S fall down sometimes, unless it's really a hard knock. most of the time, it's the usual falls and knocks .... they are ok but S just wants to attract attention by crying. if we ignore her, she will just pout a bit and move on.

for my gal, we'll try giving food, books, toys, keys, letting her watch barney / hi-5 shows. in general, anything new should capture their attention.
just curious, how does DI blame the lego and toys ? scold, whine or beat ah ?

like this morning, she insisted on bringing out her 2 small bean pillows and still want to sling her bag herself with the milk bottle and stuff (we feed her milk in the car).. cannot say no, else she'll whine and arch her back backwards and she will just slump her whole body wherever she is on ... pengz !! any of your todds like that huh ? the whole body slumping technic dunno where she learn from. it has become her weapon ... Grrrhh

When she is notti lor. When she refused to listen after we tell her time after time especially when she touch those dangerous item. Anyway, is my mum that do tat. Actually the cane was not meant for nat but for the doggy. Just that it came in handy when nat is notti. I dun ve any cane at home.... but sometimes i use rubber band if she really make me hot...

my hubby went oversea too. he went to Taiwan yesterday will only be back this thrusday/friday. I'm not only sian but very tired too! yesterday i got to take care of natalie by my own. Really no joke to play and bath her with my big tummy. So tired that i take half day leave to rest at home now.

I will ask the same nanny take care of both natalie and nathan, so next time min $1000 spend on babysitter per mth!!! aiyo, really must find job asap after my maternity leave,,,,

shermyn can sxs drink 7 to 8 ounces in 5 minutes too. Why ? because the teat hole too big so the flow very fast (she seems all right with it though so i never change for her after so long ... )
