Hi mommies....howz everybody??? Me still not feeling too good yet. Stef's ok liao and me still struggling for a week, shld be well enuf for Gathering #3 (A MUST!!!! Looking forward)...

Lac....wow, Rae's so smart. I can't even get Stef excited over books!!! Not keen at all (jus like mommy....hiaz...yi...chuan.....)
Preschool - have plan to send Stef when she turns 18mos, purpose to get her acquainted wif bb of her age group...looking for school dat offer 3/4 hours a day, probably 3 times a week only....
My Gym - Stef had missed 3 classes consecutively....
Week #4 - slept jus wen abt to leave for class...slept till 5pm
Week #5 - sick (ok, excusable)
Week #6 - slept again wen daddy was getting ready!!!!
Thank God, the school is so nice, had called me up and proposed make-up classes for those that she had missed.....

try forum galleria. the two basement toy/book stores. i got mine from them. US? the theres a nurture craft (or sumting like tat) next to pop. can try.

I can't! cos my eyes shoot bird. so confirm will miss and i dont want to accidentally hit her face.(her cheeks surface area quite big so easy target...)
Rae is an expert/self-styled guru at the arch back, slump body method... been doing that for many many months. so she has 'progressed' to other styles. Now shes experimenting with "lying on floor and Kicking feet abit" method. very funny to watch but frustrating.
We ignored her most of the time or distract her with her fav things, namely books. She quite goondu at times so rather easy to placate. Her tantrums are normally short-lived but very frequent.
I use to hit her hand when she touches dangerous stuff. i have since stopped cos she hits herself in return (very scary to watch). so the method doesnt work for her as violence begets violence.
Now when she hits my nephew or touches dangerous stuff, I will hold her hand, look at her in the eye (must make sure she looks at me)
and tell her very firmly "You cannot touch xxx,' 'NO Hitting' "Rae/You cannot hit XXX". "its painful'
Then i will ask her 'can you hit/touch xxx".
wait for her answer "no" or 'cannot hit/touch'
and then ask her to say 'sorry' and give xxx a hug.
SO far, she complies but her memory like sieve.
But I realise when i make sure shes looking at me when i talk to her in a very firm tone and holding her hand, the message sinks in deeper.
She hardly touches the taboo stuff in the hse but she will purposely do certain harmless things to irritate me.
For Rae, at this moment, I feel that no use explaining to her in details why she cant do this and that.
I will just narrow down to 'pain' for most things as she understand that concept and i try not to 'lecture' her for more than 10 sentences.
when she falls, we dont 'blame' the floor or others. Like some mummies here, if its 'normal' fall , we will tell her Its Ok, get up. then give her a hug/smile and say, 'its ok, you are alright'
if its a bad fall, we will assist her, ask her any pain and give her a hug and tell her shes fine.

But if the kids misbehavior, I think its important for parents to discipline them with an appropriate punishment as spare the rod is to spoil the kid! Itll get harder to take them under control when they get older. Of course, no point we use a cane on a toddler of less than 2yrs old as they still too young. Thats why I only use cane when my elder son was after 3yrs old. He some times can be extremely naughty.

Yesterday my maid called me to tell me this.
Ard 1pm lunch time, Wilfred was sit on the sofa. When he saw my maid came out from the kitchen, he waved his hand and says in mandarin lai, lai! My maid was shock! She asked huh? Wilfred said again lai, lai! then he even pats on the sofa to ask my maid sit beside him. My maid told me she keeps laughing when Wilfred says lai, lai!
Seems like my Wilfred prefer speak mandarin leh!

me too heartpain when i see toddles have to do things on a fixed schedule. nat needs to hug her bolster and poohbear to sleep but she wont able to bring her poohbear if she go cc, Think may be bolster also cannot. So have u decided when to send cindy to CC? how abt wait till she is after 2YO, by then she will be able to communicate better.

'Or Bie'(hokkien)-serve u rite-guess must be my mum always say it to her when she do somthg that hurt herself, 'Shen Meh'(mandrain)-as in 'wat'. 2 days ago, brot her to PD, PD dun know tell her wat and she replied 'shen meh".... the PD got a shocked n kept laughing at her, This is new to me oso. Got few times my sis MIL scolded her for being naughty and my niece always reply idiot! MIL no good in English, one day she bua tahan and went to asked my siss husband

Shermyn has not been keeping to a safe distance while watching TV progs and I'm getting worried. Thot of buying a sofa for her to sit her butt down so that she won't keep walking too near while watching TV progs.

Nat oso has the habit of going near the TV while watching TV programs. Everynite i think i've to repeat at least 10 times telling her... 'natalie, pls dun go so near to the TV....' She will walk away when i tell her so but repeating it sometimes really make me out of breath...

In actual fact, i dislike declan watching TV. My mom ask me not to let him watch. But my in laws are making him watch it and since i am not home 24 hrs a day to supervise, i can't comment abt it also. i cannt be telling my in laws off.

i add them to cook shermyn's porridge as well but they can be eaten on their own like raisins. my mum says cannot take more than 7 a day. dunno why but she was told by a colleague as she works in a yao cai dian.
adults can take them as well. add a few to boiling water to make tea.

we use our existing bookshelf but clear the last 2 rack for Natalie to put her books.
baby carrier
anyone use baby carrier before? which brand is good huh? I thinking to get one for Nathan. coz next time we may have problem to bring both n&n as both of them needs to sit on stroller. Though we have more than 1 at home but very troublesome to bring both strollers out lei.

I got use baby carrier and sling. I find that sling is better than baby carrier. My baby carrier give me lots of backache and shoulder ache, and cannot carrier longer that half an hour when Elicia was only 8kg. But with the baby sling from moms in mind, I can now still sling her for an hour also no problem.

I am using the graco duoglider stroller for my 2 boys. it can take 2 infant car seats. my elder boy sits in front while my younger boy sits behind. the tandem strollers are much easier to handle than the side by side. also its a one hand fold stroller and compact when folded.
