Hi apricot!
I would use tic-tac-toe like a bingo game.
BOth games can be used to test if your child has successfully learnt a word.
You can also do it with numbers too.
You see, tic-tac-toe has nine boxes, 3x3.
So put a word in each box. Of course, your boy must know how to play the game first. So, if you choose a field, you must read it first before you can cross/circle it out. Then three in a row wins, ok?
Bingo... same thing...
You can have like about 3x3 first, too many would be confusing to our 4's right now.
Then when you read a word, he must cross out the word he hears. When he gets one word crossed out in each row, then he can shout bingo!
Counting can be fun too...
like 1 - oops - 3- oops 5 - oops... etc , you can leave out the even number or the odd numbers... whatever.
Hmmm... what other classroom games I used to play??? Need to jog my memory a little... but there are plenty of games to play with language learning and counting.... in the meantime, I think the other teachers among us here can also share their experience. So over to you, Moshi2 and Pris!
