Am i too early to let my son start school at 18mths-playgroup.

Pros and cons. Both our kids were at infant care since they were 2 months old. Elder one fell sick almost once a month :-( but both grown independent early. They also learnt to socialise earlier. Hope this helps.

Hi Bee Yian,

Based on most mummies experience, the only key concern about sending your kid to childcare is the frequent flu & cough virus. You will probably spend the first 6 months of his childcare days fighting flu viruses with him! Trend is...kids get sick first, mummies last in the family to fall ill.

Apart from that, going to school is great for him! It helps him learn to socialize around, learn to share, learn to speak and learn good behaviour. However, please be prepared, he will learn good behaviour and also BAD behaviour, hence we should all work closely with school teachers on how to keep our kid on the right track. Adopt similar 'training' habits in school and at home, this way, your child will not be confused.

it's up to you and your family to make this decision! Hope this helps! Do feel free to PM me for more advice!
