Best TCM

Hi, did you take her medication till full term and do you find it helpful to your pregnancy? Just curious if TCM should continue after conception.

Yes i took her medication till full term. Dr zou suggested it’s up to me whether i should take her med during my pregnancy. I was worried in the first place but in the end i just give it a try as i believe her med did help during my ivf. So it’s up to individual whether to take her med after conception.

Hi, I’ve seen dr zou since feb 2018 and ivf during july 2018. Was positive and gave birth feb 2019. I had her medicine and acupuncture while doing ivf and had her medicine while i was pregnant. So far i did not ask what is inside the medicine and i think it won’t harm or anything. Normally when there is space for acupuncture, they would ask to acupuncture first. Before i got pregnant, my medicine normally is menses 1 pack for 7 days den another pack for eggs for 7 days.

My experience with her is good as she is knowledgeable. As everytime when I’m at kkh, consultation is quite fast. So when i have any questions i will ask dr zou, she will tell me why this and that.

Not sure if it's because I dont speak Chinese and she needs her assistant to translate, Dr Zou didn't really talk much during my consultation for the past 2 visits. She just checked my pulse, made some comments on the blood test results like high antibody but told me no useful information that I may use as solution. I've finished her meds for the week and decide not to continue. Now I'm back to Chung Hwa TCM. Their sinsehs seem to be more caring and detailed despite the long queue. But I dont know why they don't do accupunture after ovulation. The sinseh there said let my body rest.

I still have an appointment w Dr Zou next Monday. Dunno if I should go just for accupunture? During your accupunture, does she do front and back or just front? Right after my IUI she did both, but the later visit she only did the front so I wondered if that's her standard practice.

Dr Zou speak chinese. Her acupuncture is normally in the front. After my ET she will acupuncture front and back. Go to the doctor who U are comfortable with.

I used to go to dr Zou also but mostly for accupuncture. She didn’t say anything each time she feels my pulse or sees my tongue. So sometimes I’m wondering is it because I’m not taking her medicine?

Same as you for iui she did for me accupuncture front and back. But when I did ivf it’s just accupuncture at the front. Only after doing transfer then she did at the back also.

TCM is like finding the right gyne. So you need to feel comfy with them. I didn't have good experience with Dr Zou as well. I find that they operate like a 'production line' & there's no privacy. There was once Dr Zou was not around and her assistant took over and the experience was really bad. I stopped by the 3rd session. Subsequently, I switched to Dr Zhao Xu Hong at Raffles Hospital and succeed under her care. Coz I wanted a TCM that does acupuncture after ET. Way previously, I was seeing Dr Zhu at Hua Mei Accupunture but no luck with her though the experience with her was good.

Thanks for info. Yes I also feel that they're production line kind of business w very little patient care. But due to my limitation in Chinese and time to travel, I cant find a good sinseh that specialises in fertility treatment in the north. So thought of maybe just go to Dr Zou for accupunture once a week and Chung hwa for medication until I can find a better option..

How long did you do TCM b4 IVF? Mine would be somewhere in coming July

I did TCM for pretty long and on a consistent basis as I believe that body conditioning takes time. Basically, I have 2 sessions of acupuncture weekly and when it's ET period, I will go almost daily. The only "break" I took was in between the failed cycles as I needed a break mentally and physically before I embark on my next cycle.

I've probably seen most of the TCM, from Ban Choon Chan at Marine Parade to Dr Xia Rong at Paragon Eu Ren Sheng to Tan Siew Buoy at her NTU clinic to Dr Zhu Ping at Hua Mei Accupunture and finally, Dr Zhao at Raffles Hospital. But through this, I know what direction works for me best (coz mine is mostly implantation failure) i.e. acupuncture; and brewing herbs is definitely not my cup of tea. That helps me to narrow down the TCM and even when it comes to acupuncture treatment, some do post ET acupuncture and some doesn't. It was really quite a trial and error, just like IVF protocol.

IMHO, if you do not feel comfy with Dr Zou, I would suggest that you switch. Having trust in the TCM is important as well. Coz if you are having doubts and confidence with the TCM, you will start to instill negative thoughts and it's not a good formula for IVF journey.

Hi, may I know what are the charges like for Dr. Zhou at Raffles hospital ? Is it easy to get appmt with him? Thanks.

I’m a little late to tcm but I’m already halfway through my ivf stims, ER is likely next week. Do you all do acupuncture while in the midst of ivf stims?

My doc says I’ll be going for FET. Can I do acupuncture after egg retrieval while waiting for FET?

Hi, if my memory didn't fail me, it's about 90 per session. But they will have package of 5 sessions with some savings. Dr Zhao will access your body condition and see how many sessions you need. In any case, that was in 2016, so you might want to call them up to check. It was not too difficult to get a session to see her as in, you can pre-book your sessions thereafter and the appointment timings are normally punctual. For sessions after ET, she will give priority and slot you in accordingly.

Yes I did acupuncture all the way throughout my IVF stims. I feel that it does help to condition my body coz of the blood circulation. Also, its good to go before your FET as it helps to build up your lining which aids in implantation.

I've tried her for 2uears before going for fertility massage and managed to conceived

Supplements : Maca, promegrane juice, folic , coenzyme

Fertility massage : Angelia 94514908
Hi, how much do u take? I know this has been so long..

Taking 1000mg maca for almost a month but make my period delay now for 5days already, is it normal?

I have visited both Dr Zou and Tan Siew Buoy.
I have nothing interesting to say about both of them.

Tan Siew Buoy - keep prescribing medicines which you need to boil. Every time I go and see her, she hardly speaks and just ask me what my plans are and thats it. Her medication are one of the toughest to swallow. She is always busy typing. I saw her for 6 months. No good news.

DR Zou - dont speak English. So her translator will usually do most of the talking. Its pretty inconvenient that consultation and acupuncture may not be the same day unless if you’re lucky. Pretty much the same, prescribe medication and explains on how to take the medication. Then one medication she prescribed, gave me bad pain in the lower abdomen. I took it for a few days then stopped and when I told her she said, it’s quite a rare case. So god knows what it was.

Now still, looking for suggestion on TCM, please share if there is any leads!

Thank You ladies

Im seeing physician Ou Cui Liu at Thomson Chinese Medicine. She can speak English. The medicine she gave me was the powder kind and the small round pills. She does accupuncture for me too. I feel better after starting the medication and accupuncture. I'm doing my frozen embryo transfer soon though.

Which branch do you go to? Currently i’m also randomly doing acupuncture at Eu Yan Sang @ Nex, the medicine the physician gave me makes my period flow like quite a lot which I presume is good. She says focus on building the health first. But i will check on this Dr too.

Have you done a hormonal check on the 3rd to 5th day of your menstruation ?Is due to long follicular phase, slow egg growth, or luteal insufficiency, may I know your age ?

Hi, I'm trying to look for a TCM after we are not able to extract any sperm after 2 times TESA. Anyone had the same situation but able to conceive after TCM? Getting disheartened. ☹️ Any recommendations on which TCM is best for male fertility?

3. She speaks both english and chinese
4. Has verified that she does acupuncture during IVF

so far the waiting time has been bearable <20mins.. i am just prepping for IVF in November so.. i have no "concrete" evidence that is helping. ;)

But friends whom have been visiting her give good reviews and many are still visiting her for overall health, eg. eczema, joint issues, rashes,

Hi BrandyK,
Just like to find out more , are the charges reasonable say below $80-$100 , and do you need to go see her every week?
Im looking for one near my place and this is the nearest for me .

Hi

Any suggestion near the East-West line mrt?
TCM process needs diligence and I am looking for convenience in terms of travelling and not too Long waiting.

I have tried Dr Tan at Clementi but I do not have good experience. His charges per visit is quite high and we need to go during that golden week quite often, and he did not give a good interpretation and prediction of my cycle temps.

I also tried a few rounds under Dr Zou’s another doctor who is duty in the afternoon, feel the protocol is like what the others are saying - like production line. Each visit same thing, didn’t consult much.

Hi everyone,

I just got married last year and now in the midst of TTC. Can you all ladies share any TCM doctors who are good and effective? Preferably central area or north-east/east. Thank you!

Dr Zhao Xu Hong from Raffles Hospital. She doesn't do a 1-size fits all treatment and the environment is clean and with privacy.

Dr Tan Siew Buoy but you gotta tahan her poor attitude. Brew meds everytime. Her meds is the only one that seems to work for me.

Hi ladies with dr Zou. Has anyone of did medicated FET and took her medicine and accunpucture while taking the medicine for FET (progynova)? Or did u stop. Thanks
Hi ! Curious to know if you took the Chinese medicines at Dr Zou while on Progynova? I’m in the same situation now. Thanks.

Just got BFP after seeing tcm At Serangoon North... I started seeing her in April ...first time got pregnant I ve tried for 5 years...failed 2X SO-IUI and failed 2X IVF ... was really shocked to see 2lines
Hi can i have the contacts too? Thanks!

Hi ladies,

Just to share that I am currently seeing Dr Zhao at Raffles Hospital due to the recommendations from some of you. She is indeed nice, gentle and reassuring. After my second session, my menses came (it was delayed for some reason) and after that she gave me some herbs to take. I can feel my body condition improving, especially blood circulation. Will continue to go for the sessions and hope to have good news. Her charges have increased though, so one session is about $97 if you take the package.

Hi Snoopii! Thanks for sharing your experiences :) May I know one session $97 is only the consultation fee right? Roughly how much is the herbs and the package consists how many sessions?

Hi, I bought the package for 5 sessions so the acupuncture treatment is $97. The first consultation fee will still be charged, subsequently is in the package. Medicine/herbs charged separately.

Hi, I think you will need to check with the TCM clinic. They have different packages for fertility and women's health. Probably you can drop them a note to enquire would be better as I think they will customise for individuals. For me, she did acupuncture and did not gave me herbs until the 3rd session when she feels my body is in a better condition to take the herbs etc. So I think good to check as each of our bodies is different :)
