Christmas 2022: Where to See ‘Snow’ and Get all the Festive Feels in Singapore this Holiday Season

 Yoo-hoo! It’s just one month to the most wonderful time for the year. Are you ready? Read on for our Christmas edition of ideas on things to do and places to go this holiday season, that are bound to have everyone in the mood for some absolutely fabulous festive fun! ❄️❄️❄️ Changi Festive Village 

Just being in Changi Airport this season will have you feeling like you’re out of this world! Immerse yourself in the world of Avatar: The Way of Water at T3, in a larger-than-life replica of the home of the Na’vi. Then head to the basement, where you can play games and go on rides at the T3 Underground Carnival. There’s even glow-in-the-dark go-kart racing for speed-meisters!

Over at Jewel, dive into a Christmas Odyssea and get bedazzled by Christmas sparkles, and get a headstart on festivities with family camps and workshops at Changi Experience Studio. Take a family photo with the iconic 16-metre tall Prudential Christmas Tree, and watch the HSBC Rain Vortex Light & Sound show inspired by Avatar: The Way of Water. Good news for winter fans: there’ll also be ‘snowfall’ again this year at Jewel. Experience the magic every half hour at the Shiseido Forest Valley from 7:35pm to 10:35pm daily.

Celebrate in not one, not two, but three wildlife parks this season. Festive Wild-erland celebrates the black and white animals of Singapore Zoo, River Wonders and Night Safari with brand new activities like a Black & White AR Animal Trail, close ups with your favourite animals, and ‘craftivities’ – like a terrarium, or festive wreath that you can take home. Make your way through Singapore Zoo’s Monochrome Maze, go wild at River Wonders’ Panda-monium Playground, and have a magical snowfall experience at the Night Safari’s Naracoorte Cave. Visit all three parks for maximum festive fun with the animals this season!

PinkMas at the Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC)

Sprinkle all the way through a magical Pinkmas tree forest and a quaint gingerbread town, craft a take-home paper gingerbread house, and sample all the ice cream flavours of the season. There’s lots to warm the heart and fill the tum, from seasonal delights like pink hot chocolate and peppermint soft serve, a Pinkmas Sundae, and a Gingerbread Milkshake. Feeling naughty? Try the decadent Eggnog, which features kahlua, rum, and vanilla ice cream. It’s a sweet and creamy treat that’s the perfect way to top off your Pinkmas at MOIC!

❄️❄️❄️ Holly Jolly Christmas @ Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES

Visit an European-themed Christmas Market and shop for gifts and treats, and listen to Christmas tunes sung by carollers from Voices of Singapore and children from Emerge Arts & Media Academy at the Singing Tree, and catch snowfall and live performances by local bands and string quartets. There’s even a Secret Santa hunt! Spot St Nicholas at Capitol Singapore or CHIJMES and you could win mall vouchers.

Over at CHIJMES, bask in the wonder of the season with projection mappings of Christmas scenes, snowfall, carolling, and live string performances. It’s especially magical here at this time of the year!

Gingerbread House Children’s Workshop

Craft a delicious gingerbread house with your little one in this fun-filled 90-minute workshop, where you’ll be using frosting, cookies, and candies to decorate your very own take-home house. Each booking admits one child and up to two adults, and includes light festive refreshments, and a mini chef’s toque and apron for your child. What’s more, you’ll be able to bring back your edible masterpiece as well!

Jumptopia™ Festive Village

Jump into the Yuletide season at a brand-new bouncy castle wonderland! Spanning over a 45,000 square feet, with seven curated zones and 10 giant inflatables that stand as high as nine metres, Jumptopia™ Festive Village will have little ones bouncing for joy this holiday. To add to the festive mood, there are stage performances, a ‘snow’ play area, a Christmas Market, and a delightful pizzeria cafe as well. ❄️❄️❄️ A Universal Christmas

Christmas magic comes to Universal Studios Singapore as the theme park transforms into Santa’s Spectacular Circus. Featuring a merry parade, live circus acts, acrobatics, meet and greets, themed photo booths and exciting rides, it’s an experience that you won’t want to miss! From 30 November, hit the streets of New York at nightfall for Santa’s Circus Extravaganza performance, which features a cast of more than 40 performers, including the Minions, and DreamWorks Animation’s Po, Tigress, Poppy, Branch and Guy Diamond. Stay till the end for spectacular thrills and a magnificent snowfall. It’s bound to be epic!

❄️❄️❄️ The Great Bay Fiesta 2022

This is possibly the biggest festive event of the year, with over 20,000 sqm of merrymaking activities to enthral and entertain every age. Think heart-stopping thrills at The Great Cirque de Cascades, funfair games at The Great World Carnival, and sub-zero fun with snow at Ice Magic: The Great Fantasy on Ice. 

Come for a truly arctic celebration in the tropics, where you can slide down a 4.5m-high figure-8 Ice Slide, cycle in an ice cycling rink, and try ice bowling and ice curling. What’s more, with snow created with the same snow-making machines used in the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, you’ll be able to build a snowman, make snow angels, bounce off ‘snow clouds’, and experience snowfall. Hungry from all that play? Fuel up with mouthwatering bites at The Great Food Fiesta!

Hands-down the most breathtaking visual celebration in town, Christmas Wonderland is a photographer’s joy, and every child’s festive dream come true. This year’s edition features six different festive zones with new attractions such as a 10-metre tall Whimsical Windmill, and a field of 250 candy canes lit by more than 35,000 bulbs.

Familiar favourites like the stunning 21m-tall Spalliera and the Venetian Double-Storey Carousel are back, as is the always popular Walk of Lights, which has been upgraded with 50,000 colourful LED lights along a 50-metre long tunnel. 

Shop and play carnival games at Mistletoe Alley, feast at the ELFresco area, experience ‘winter’ in the tropics at Merry Lane’s Snowland, give Santa a hug, and sing along with the festive edition of the Garden Rhapsody light and sound show at the Supertrees!

Sci-Sational Christmas at the Science Centre Singapore 

The Science Centre’s Christmas activities are always lots of fun, and worth travelling all the way to the west for (if you’re not living in the area). This year, young explorers get to join the Science elves on An Icy Adventure (12 to 26 Dec 2022, for ages 5 and up) where they’ll be entertained by a mini ‘Show & Tell’, and learn more about the wonderful science of ice at Christmas activity stations. 

If the kids love hands-on activities, sign them for for A Christmas Crisis (14 to 18 Dec, for 4 to 6 year olds), where they’ll get to tinker with simple circuits and help Santa build a new sleigh to deliver presents on time!

There’s also the Tech Funday – Christmas Candy Challenge (Balloon Pop 2.0) (17 Dec, for ages 5 to 8 years old) where budding creatives can learn to design battle shells for their robots to protect Christmas treats in a balloon pop challenge!

Quayside Isle (QI) @ Sentosa Cove 

Celebrate the joy of the season at this Sentosa waterfront precinct with enchanting festive light displays and plenty to savour. An exciting line-up of activities that include enchanting Christmas lights installations, PAW Patrol meet and greet, exclusive rewards and new dining options with diverse gastronomic selections along the water.

Dino Glow at Changi

Walk, cycle, or run along Dino Glow – Changi’s longest-ever festive light-up along the Changi Airport Connector. This magical path of lights is inspired by the colours and bioluminescence of the world of Avatar, and leads to a mystical world with creatures such as illuminated jellyfish, glowing fungi, sparkling trees, and dazzling dinosaurs.

If you’re visiting on Friday, Saturday or Sunday, fuel up before your adventure with food truck offerings outside Terminal 2 near Carpark 2A. Available till 1 January 2023, these will include Yakiniku, Teriyaki Chicken, Portobello Mushroom Blue Rice Burgers from The Halal Food Truck, The Black Tie truffle aioli plant-based burger from The Goodburger, and even a Blue Christmas Tree-shaped Puff from Old Chang Kee!

Candlelight: Holiday Special

Listen to Christmas melodies and seasonal tunes performed by a classical quartet under the glow if hundred of candles. This holiday special includes medleys of festive favourites such as ‘The First Noel’ and ‘Deck The Halls’, as well as excerpts from The Nutcracker and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. It’s an otherworldly experience, especially at this time of the year!

MERRYMAKING AT THE MALLS

PAW Patrol at City Square Mall

It’s PAW-sitively family-friendly at City Square Mall this festive holiday season with the one and only PAW Patrol pups! Catch Chase, Marshall, Skye and Rubble in action as they save the day in a new and exciting mall show. There’ll also be opportunities to meet and greet the pups and pick up some PAW-some goodies. Don’t forget to pose for photos with the PAW-some 6m-tall Chase inflatable, and 8m-tall PAW Patrol Christmas tree as well!

While you’re at the mall, check out 12 Christmas trees designed by students from Temasek Polytechnic School of Design using recycled materials from City Square Mall tenants. and help put a smile on a child’s face by adopting one of their wishes at the Tree of Hope and Wishes charity drive.

The Dior Enchanted Star at ION Orchard

Have a starry Christmas at this Orchard landmark with an outdoor Christmas masterpiece by Parfums Christian Dior, in-store exclusives, as well as shopping rewards and holiday deals. The Dior Enchanted Star is the largest in Asia, standing 15m tall, and with over 20,000 lightbulbs surrounding it. Step into ‘The Atelier of Dreams’ Pop-Up and witness the Dior Constellation come to life through AR filters. Oh-So-Sweet Bean Christmas at Marina Square 

Sleigh this Christmas at Marina Square with POP MART! See a life-sized Sweet Bean figurine collection, a five-metre tall Sweet Bean Gashapon Machine, watch live performances, and enjoy a slew of merry activities. Marina Square Rewards members can crank the Gashapon machine and get a surprise POP MART collectible (upon spending $180* at the mall) too. There’ll also be a Santa Meet-and-Greet, as well as Christmas carolling, to bring out all the festive feels!

It’s definitely beginning to look (and smell) a lot like Christmas at Cluny Court! Browse an eclectic collection of gift options at the Christmas Fair & Market, and meet and greet Santa at his grotto. It’s free, and there’s no need to register! There’ll also be donation boxes at the Fair and Santa’s Grotto to help spread the spirit of giving. Give generously if you can; all donations will go to the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore).

Everything’s sp-ice-y at Somerset as this part of the Orchard Road belt celebrates Pinkmas with Museum of Ice Cream. Feast your eyes on the pink melting Christmas tree topped with a cherry outside orchardgateway, and pop the kids into the pink sprinkle pool at Level 1 of the mall for some truly sweet playtime. Then head up to the Level 2 Horoscoops station to see what Santa has in store for you this Pinkmas! 

Over at 313@somerset there’s a arger-than-life snow globe to play with. Complete the activity there – as well as other activities at pop-up installations across the two malls – to redeem mall vouchers. NTUC FairPrice Share-A-Textbook

The annual FairPrice Share-A-Textbook project has collected 350,000 pre-loved textbooks over the past three weeks. But it is still 30 per cent short of its target to collect half a million textbooks to benefit about 25,000 underprivileged students this year. So if you have yet to clear out the kids’ old textbooks, do it now, then drop them off at any FairPrice store islandwide.

The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift (BBSG) 2022
