On the weekend before National Day, Marina Bay Sands’ Event Plaza comes alive with music performances by homegrown talent. Continue celebrating all things local at the Giving Marketplace. There, 16 non-profits and social enterprises will offer lifestyle items, baked goods, and handcrafted products for sale. Other highlights include gourmet pop-ups, community-driven tapestry weaving, the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk, and the Vertical Marathon.

The Singapore Night Festival is back to light up the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct, with the theme ‘Singapore, the Great Port City’. Delve into Singapore’s evolution, from its early role as port city into today’s leading global hub. Expect a line-up of multi-cultural offerings featuring works by local artists across all the museums and heritage sites around BBB. Families can also explore projection mappings, Night Lights installations, experiential programmes, and food and retail experiences.

Beef Hot Dry Noodles, Cai Lin Ji

Famous for hot dry noodles, the century-old culinary icon from Wuhan, China, opens its first overseas outpost on our shores. Serving at least 30,000 bowls of their signature dish every morning across 300-plus stores in Hubei province, its noodle-making technique was even inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2011. Look forward to trying this and other iconic Hubei street food items when Cai Lin Ji opens here in mid-August.
