Sands for Singapore Charity Festival 2023

On the weekend before National Day, Marina Bay Sands’ Event Plaza comes alive with music performances by homegrown talent. Continue celebrating all things local at the Giving Marketplace. There, 16 non-profits and social enterprises will offer lifestyle items, baked goods, and handcrafted products for sale. Other highlights include gourmet pop-ups, community-driven tapestry weaving, the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk, and the Vertical Marathon.

The Penguin Family Fun Fest + Giveaway!

To celebrate its second anniversary and National Day, PenguinLada invites you to The Penguin Family Fun Fest. The exciting family fair event brings together over 20 local brands to showcase their unique products and services. As part of its commitment to empower women, these include several inspiring mumpreneurs from CRIB Society. Also look forward to family-friendly activities, such as a bouncing ball pit by Kiztopia, perfume workshops, and sure-win lucky draws.

Singapore Night Festival 2023

The Singapore Night Festival is back to light up the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct, with the theme ‘Singapore, the Great Port City’. Delve into Singapore’s evolution, from its early role as port city into today’s leading global hub. Expect a line-up of multi-cultural offerings featuring works by local artists across all the museums and heritage sites around BBB. Families can also explore projection mappings, Night Lights installations, experiential programmes, and food and retail experiences.

Le Le Turns a Two-rrific Two!

Our beloved giant panda cub Le Le is turning two! To celebrate, River Wonders is hosting a series of panda-themed activities, beginning with a party on 14 August. Head into River Wonders bright and early to watch the birthday bear receive treats and unbox gifts. Then embark on Le Le’s Panda-stic Trail, learn how to be a panda keeper, make your own panda hat and puppet, and meet-and-greet with Giant Panda mascots. The whole family can also dress in adorable Le Le apparel by bossini!

Royal Albatross Cat Cruise

After many successful canine cruises, Asia’s only luxury tall ship is introducing another world fur-st. Yup, the Royal Albatross welcomes your feline friends to join the seafaring fun starting this August. Cats have sailed on tall ships for over 600 years. Now, your land-bound kitty can experience it too! Enjoy sea views and a cat playground in the Cat Lounge, learn care tips from cat experts, and take home PetCubes cat food. Heritage Orchids & Traditional Dances of the East Tropics

This August, uncover orchids in the east tropics with the latest launch of Orchid Extravaganza at Gardens by the Bay. Discover species of tropical orchids with ancestry traceable to Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Besides the flowers, the displays also showcase each country’s traditional houses, cultural handicrafts, kebaya, and artefacts. Catch cultural dance performances from Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia at the Baobabs zone on selected days too.

The Palawan @ Sentosa

Hot on the heels of KidZania’s return to Sentosa, the island destination unveils The Palawan @ Sentosa. The new 183,000-sq-ft lifestyle and entertainment precinct features eight distinct family fun experiences. These include UltraGolf, an 18-hole mini golf course and HyperDrive, a gamified go-kart circuit to get your adrenaline going. Then cool off at Splash Tribe, a family-oriented beach club with a sandcastle-themed wet-play zone and infinity pool. See you at the beach!

VIVA Foundation presents ‘FIVERA Goes West End with Joanna Ampil’

To raise awareness and support for children with cancer, VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer joins forces with Thai pop-opera group FIVERA and Joanna Ampil, West End thespian and former ‘Miss Saigon’. These global talents will be performing a one-of-a-kind musical extravaganza that’s free and open to all. Please join them to further fuel the hope for children with cancer. JUSTIN Gastro Café-Bar

After satisfying celebrity palates over a 41-year illustrious career, acclaimed chef Justin Quek’s latest venture is JUSTIN. The gastro café-bar’s menu will feature everything from Western staples like Scrambled Eggs to elevated Asian classics such as Homemade Foie Gras Xiao Long Bao. We hear Chef Justin’s Spring Salad and Lobster Capellini are must-tries — both favourites of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew! JUSTIN will also be home to the first local flagship of Vittoria Coffee, Australia’s No. 1 pure coffee brand.

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream

A new wave of ice cream is coming. The cult-favourite Brooklyn brand began as a humble yellow truck plying the streets of New York City in 2008. Its first overseas outpost will serve its signature French ice cream like Honeycomb and Praline Butter Cake. Lactose-intolerant folk can also enjoy honest-to-goodness vegan scoops such as Churros & Fudge and Choc Chip Cookie Dough. Cai Lin Ji

Famous for hot dry noodles, the century-old culinary icon from Wuhan, China, opens its first overseas outpost on our shores. Serving at least 30,000 bowls of their signature dish every morning across 300-plus stores in Hubei province, its noodle-making technique was even inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2011. Look forward to trying this and other iconic Hubei street food items when Cai Lin Ji opens here in mid-August.
