Trash to Treasure: Crea8 Sustainability Showcase
What would an upcycled world look like? Discover it through the eyes of unique artworks and models by primary and secondary school students. PacificLght’s Crea8 Sustainability competition showcase is a family-friendly educational journey, complete with interactive games and a complimentary guided tour (pre-register here).

Crayon Shinchan the Movie x Hakken!
The long-awaited Crayon Shinchan the Movie: School Mystery! The Splendid Tenkasu Academy is finally premiering in Singapore, thanks to a collaboration between MUSE Communication and Singapore’s largest anime retail store, Hakken! Originally scheduled for 21 August but delayed due to P2HA, the exclusive fan screening happens on 4 September (ticket sales begin 21 August), before public screenings begin on 9 September. In the meantime, search out exciting Crayon Shinchan merchandise at the new Hakken! outlet at VivoCity, which stocks over 700 officially sourced anime and pop-culture collectibles, plushies, stationery, and more.

Ballerina
Orphans Félicie and Victor dream of becoming a ballerina and an inventor respectively. Together, the best friends hatch a plan to escape from their rural orphanage in 19th-century France. Starring Maddie Ziegler, Elle Fanning, and Carly Rae Jepsen, this delightful animated movie will inspire kids everywhere to chase their dreams. After the movie, drop by DANCE: A Tribute to Rudolf Nureyev, a free exhibition showcasing the celebrated dancer’s striking costumes from his signature ballets.

Read! Fest 2021 Literary Trails
Life is no walk in the park, except when you go on Read! Fest 2021’s first multi-sensory self-guided literary trails! Building on this year’s theme of “Reboot!”, this interactive experience is ideal to enjoy as a family. Join in “The Curious Adventure of the Salaryman” as he goes on a journey to reinvent himself. Embark on the trails by scanning the QR codes on art installations located in West Coast Park, East Coast Park, or National Library Building.

Sign up as a parent-child duo to learn kayaking. PAssion WaVe’s Kayak Orientation Programme is suitable for kids aged seven years and up. Starting this August, Sofitel Singapore City Centre joins hands with The Art Faculty to present ‘An Artful High Tea’ experience. National Heritage Board has planned a month worth of exciting e-activities so you can have fun while staying home. Get crafty by making a ‘kueh’ bath bomb (8 August) or build your own heritage playground pencil holder (29 August). You can also discover the Sundanese instrument Gamelan (28 August) or learn to appreciate Chinese tea (14 August). Or stand up and try your feet at traditional Indian dances, the Kummi (14 August) or the Bhangra (28 August). There’s definitely something for everyone.
