10 New Hotels for a Family (and Couple) Staycation in Singapore 2019

New year, new hotel for a family staycation? We like the way you think. You may have your favourite family staycation spot in mind, but with so many hotels in Singapore to try out, why limit yourself? We’ve rounded up a list of the new (and new-ish!) hotels in Singapore that are perfect for family staycations, and for parents who need some kids-free R&R. Enjoy!

#1. Village Hotel at Sentosa

Village Hotel at Sentosa is a newest kid-friendly hotel that every family will love (see our review here). The biggest draw is definitely the Pool Deck, which is a lush open space consisting of themed pool zones. First, there’s the adults-only Pamukkale Pool, which is inspired by the cascading pools in Turkey. Next up, the Lazy River, which comes with larger than life foliage to mimic the Amazonian Rainforest. In addition, there’s the Kids’ Pool, which will provide little ones with hours of entertainment. Spent enough time by the pool? You don’t need to venture out far for more fun — Kidzania Singapore is just minutes away.

Book: A Family Room – which comes with two connecting doors, two vanity areas, and two bathrooms. The hotel also provides children’s amenities upon request.

#2: The Outpost Sentosa (adults-only)

This hotel is Sexy with a capital ‘S’. All dark wood and smoulder, it’s where you and the spouse can get serious about couple time — without the kids. Guests at The Outpost Hotel can use the pools at the Village Hotel at Sentosa, but we bet you’ll make a beeline for the hotel’s own rooftop pool and bar. Be sure to claim your sunbed early, so that you can sip on your cocktail of choice as you watch the sunset together. Bonus: enjoy the daily fireworks displays from Wings of Time here!

#3: The Barracks Hotel

If you’re looking to treat yourself, or have a special anniversary coming up, splash out on this meticulously restored military outpost. The Barracks Hotel houses just 40 guest rooms and suites, making it one of the most exclusive hotels on Sentosa. If budget permits, opt for a suite on the ground level — these give direct access to the hotel’s pool and private jacuzzi, which is pretty dang sweet.

#4: The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore

There are plenty of things that The Capitol Kempinski Hotel has going for it. With Italian marble floors, corniced ceilings, dramatic archways, and other elements inspired by the Art Deco era, every nook and cranny here is highly Instagrammable. In addition, the 157 guest rooms and suites come with rainfall showers and/or freestanding bathtubs and Sonos audio systems; you even get complimentary juice and canned drinks in the minibar.

Book: The Weekend Escape includes a complimentary gourmet breakfast buffet, guaranteed late check out at 3pm, SGD 50 dining credits and complimentary upgrade to the next room category (subject to availability).

Also on our “must-stay” list is the Six Senses Maxwell, which is housed in a restored 19th-century building. Forget about minimalism; Six Senses is plush, decadent, and extravagantly more-ish. Indulge in the luxe life inside, then savour the veritable feast of Singapore heritage outside the hotel. Bring the kids on a walkabout around Pearl’s Hill City Park, and check out the eight Heritage Trees nearby. Alternatively, feast on local hawker delights at Maxwell Food Center, and visit Yixing Xuan Teahouse (just 100 meters from the hotel) for a demonstration of Chinese tea appreciation.

Book: The Family Summer Escape which offers one room at the Best Available Rate (BAR) and 50% off the second room.

#6: Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon

Accessibility is key when you’re travelling with kids. At just seven minutes away (on foot!) from Farrer Park MRT, the Holiday Inn Express Singapore Serangoon is a perfect base. Stay here and play local tourist in one of Singapore’s most colourful and vibrant districts. Go on a art walk in Little India and see if you can find all the wall murals. Take a stroll down to hipster cafe Chye Seng Huat Hardware, indulge in dessert at The Tiramisu Hero, or pop into Mustafa for a spot of late-night shopping. Swee Choon – which serves dim sum till 6am – is also nearby.

It’ll be the only resort in Singapore with direct access to the Laguna National Golf & Country Club. Needless to say: if you’re a golf enthusiast, this is the perfect spot for a staycation. Other bells and whistles at this family-friendly hotel include a Club Lounge, a fully-equipped gym, a swimming pool with a kids’ pool, tennis courts, and Dusit’s iconic Devarana Spa.

Book: The Dusit Family Plan, where children under 12 years who share the rooms with their parents stay free of charge. Complimentary baby cots or rollaway beds can be provided. Even better, children under 4 enjoy complimentary buffet meals when dining with parents, while those 5 to 12 get a 50% discount.
