1. Capella Singapore
If space and privacy are what your family is after, then a stay at Capella Singapore’s beautifully appointed villas and manors is in order. With their leafy surrounds, private pools and rain showers — both indoor and outdoor — these offer a tropical escape that feel like a world away from the urban crush.
For big families, we recommend splashing out on the three-bedroom, restored Colonial Manor. It spells 436 sqm of luxury, complete with a private lap pool. The Manor Experience includes a private yoga session, In-manor kids activities, and pool props! 2. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore
Till 1 January 2022, Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is offering a complimentary third night’s stay with every two consecutive paid nights. Designed with botanical accents, its spacious rooms and suites afford a relaxing retreat in pared down elegance. Kids get their own bathrobes, plush toys, activity kits, and baby amenities. Baby-sitting services are available so you can luxuriate in their envy-inducing spa.
Set five minutes away from Singapore Botanic Gardens, the hotel caters to outdoorsy families. Make a splash in its 20th-floor family pool, complete with a poolside swing and cabanas. Or challenge your brood to a game of doubles at the outdoor tennis courts — rare for a city hotel. Fuel up at on-site Asian-French brasserie One-Ninety, where kids below the age of five get to dine for free. Pets are also welcome.

3. One Farrer Hotel
Set in the heart of Little India, One Farrer Hotel is an urban retreat with plenty of options for families of different sizes. Hunker down in PARKROYAL on Beach Road’s newly refurbished 35 sqm Superior or Deluxe rooms. “Netflix and chill” with your family with the hotel’s Staycation Breakfast Offer room package. 5. The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Featuring a separate living area, the light-filled spaces — ranging in size from 51 to 219 sqm — have ample room for two adults and two children.
Book the Ritz Kids Night Safari, and your kids get to bed down in a plush in-room tent for two, kitted out with a night lamp, plush toy, and activity book. But size isn’t all that matters; the imaginatively designed kids’ rooms are so much more. These veritable indoor playgrounds are enlivened by whimsical safari, treetop, underwater, space, and castle themes. Amenities include a deep vanity sink for bathing babies, space for changing diapers, as well as a pantry with an induction heater and double-door Smeg refrigerator.

A choice property for sporty families with older kids is Sofitel Sentosa Resort and Spa. Its facilities include tennis courts, a state-of-the-art gym, and a 33m-long pool. Not to mention, golfers will appreciate how it is within walking distance of Tanjong Course. It recently reopened with an enhanced in-room cleaning programme, and families of four (two adults and two children) can book the Infinite Family Experiences package.
This is inclusive of a night’s stay in the Luxury Family Room, which comprises two connecting rooms. For those who take social distancing seriously, you don’t even need to set foot outside the hotel during your stay. Not with full gourmet dining experiences and daily kids’ activities including face-painting and calligraphy. Suffering from cabin fever at home and crave extra personal space? The following family-friendly hotels have yet to officially reopen to staying guests post-circuit breaker. However, it’s worth considering booking in advance to take advantage of current promotional rates.
8. Grand Park City Hall
The recently refurbished hotel set in the heart of Singapore’s historic civic district boasts six family suites. These feature interconnecting rooms offering parents much-needed privacy. While adults can relax in a premier room in muted colours, the star of the show is the kids’ room. This is decked out with an activity wall, swing chair, and bean bag, plus a four-poster bed with a pull-out bed. Kids can peer through an arched window, or lounge on a bench that’s a throwback to Singapore’s iconic dragon playgrounds.
Also included is one hour of complimentary playtime at nearby playschool Trehaus, along with baby amenities (available on request) such as playpens, bottle sterilisers and bathtubs. Babysitting services are also available at extra cost. Book now for stays from January 2021.

9. JW Marriott Singapore South Beach
With its sexy Philippe Starck-designed interior, the luxury dig may not be the first property that comes to mind when you think of family-friendly hotels. Yet it certainly makes the kids feel welcome with its Fun for the Whole Family package. Book now for stays from September 2020.
This is jazzed up with kids’ amenities such as a Guggenheim Museum-designed activity guide and map to explore the hotel, complimentary snacks, and a delightful camper van tent that doubles up as a bed for a child under the age of seven. Its Premier Family Room — which accommodates up to four adults — brings the wow factor with its views of the CBD. The same goes for its 18th-storey pool deck.

10. Park Hotel Clarke Quay
With carousing now on hold in Singapore’s entertainment district, quiet walks by the river are possible. Set in the heart of this nightlife enclave, Park Hotel Clarke Quay’s interconnecting rooms are perfect for families with older kids who relish the freedom to flick through TV channels independently. The hotel also provides amenities such as baby toiletries, cots, bathtubs, and bottle sterilisers.
And while it is currently closed, you can book the hotel’s new Crystal Club Lounge experience (till 30 June 2021) in advance. 11. Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa
If Sentosa is the furthest you can go for a vacation, make it count for your kids. The Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort and Spa recently opened its new Nestopia playground along Siloso Beach. Think 15m-long pool slides, 7.5m-tall climbing obstacles and suspended bridges.
Within each Family Garden room is a selection of thoughtful touches. These range from kids’ toiletries and cutlery to colouring materials and mini bathrobes. 12. Village Hotel Sentosa
Bliss out at the newest of Sentosa’s family-friendly hotels, where four curvilinear pools resembling rice terraces take centrestage. Three out of four of these are from 0.5m to 0.95m deep, which suit younger kids and non-swimmers. We love the hotel’s cute VIK (Village Important Kid) initiative, where kids can check in on behalf of the family at a priority counter. Other fun touches are family scavenger hunts, pool games, aqua fitness classes, and movie nights by the pool.
