With Father’s Day just around the corner, you may be feeling more resolved than ever to spend quality time with the kids. While family fundays are common, how about some one-on-one Dad time with the Kiddos instead?

The best part? Dad Dates don’t have to be boring trips to the neighbourhood mall. Here’s our selection of 10 places where you can remind your little ones why Dad’s the hero and have fun, too!

1. Wave House

Source

Have you always wanted to ride the waves? Then head over to Wave House, located on the sandy beaches of Sentosa Island. While Singapore’s the perfect tropical island, we rarely see waves that are great for surfing. That’s where Wave House comes in. With The FlowBarrel, you’ll be able to show Junior how to ride 10-foot waves! Surfing amateurs need not fear – the ride’s surface is designed to absorb impact – so you can battle the waves without worry.

Once you’re all wiped out from the fun, head over to the restaurant for a well-deserved meal with the kids. Sit back, relax, and soak in the sun with colourful mocktails, large pizzas, and all kinds of kid-friendly finger food.

2. Pulau Ubin

Are you an adventure seeker? If your answer is “yes”, then there’s no better place than Pulau Ubin. Gather the Kiddos, pack your bags, and head over to one of Singapore’s unspoilt islands. If it’s the kids’ first time in Pulau Ubin, lead them on an exploration to Chek Jawa. It’s a great location to teach your little ones about nature, as many ecosystems can be found within its small area. If your mini-mes aren’t so little anymore, take on the challenge of Coastal Hill Forest. Take a hike up the hill overlooking Chek Jawa, and keep your eye out for plants and animals that aren’t commonly found on Mainland Singapore.

If you’d prefer leaving the teaching up to the experts, then opt for free guided tours of the island. There are guided walks available along Chek Jawa intertidal, Chek Jawa boardwalk, and even a Kampung Tour. Find out more about the guided tours here.

Nothing breeds teamwork like an escape room! If it’s been a while since you’ve spent quality time with the kids, an escape room is the perfect opportunity to bond with them. We love Xcape Singapore’s Kungfu Panda X – The Return of Tai Lung. While some escape room games may be too frightening for younger audiences, we’re sure the kids will have a blast solving mysteries with Po. Work together to stop Tai Lung, stronger than ever, from seeking revenge and stealing the Wuxi Finger Hold. Plus, you never know, the kids may end up surprising you with their investigative prowess instead!

For younger children, Dads can skip the rides and spend more time on the myriad of shows offered at the theme park. From Elmo’s TV Time, Shrek’s 4D Adventure, and the Lake Hollywood Spectacular firework show, there’s something for every child (and Dad)!

Last but not least, Dads and Kiddos can stuff their faces with the wide variety of food offered within the theme park. From burgers at Mel’s Drive In, to cheesy pizzas at Loui’s NY Pizza Parlor and must-try yoghurt soft-serve at Stardots, you’ll never go hungry.
