It’s October, which means it’s time to celebrate Children’s Day! So of course we’re here to update you on all the fun happenings on our little red dot. Join us as we explore the newest playgrounds and pop-ups, review world-class productions and family-friendly menus, and share all the good deals and best buys for families in Singapore. CHILDREN’S DAY HIGHLIGHTS

Humpty Reimagined Workshop

Who says Humpty Dumpty had to be an egg? Let your little one’s imagination run wild at the Humpty Reimagined Workshop. You and your preschooler can get creative and craft your own unique Humpty Dumpty using recycled materials. Explore inspiring artworks at the National Gallery Singapore and then unleash your creativity at the Expression Workshop. It’s a fun and educational Children’s Day experience for the whole family!

Octoburst! – A Children’s Festival 2024

Octoburst! returns on Children’s Day with a jam-packed day of fun and entertainment. This year’s event features a variety of performances, activities, and workshops for all ages and abilities. From a percussion ensemble performance to interactive dance sessions and storytelling adventures, there’s plenty to enjoy. Join in the festivities and celebrate PIP’s birthday with exclusive merchandise and unforgettable experiences.

Children’s Day Treats at PAZZION Café

For one day only, PAZZION Café invites families to celebrate Children’s Day with a special promotion. Simply spend at least $10 at PAZZION Café and receive a token to try your luck at the gachapon machine. Prizes include a macaron, scoop of ice cream, a $5 voucher with a minimum spend of $10, and a non-alcoholic beverage with any mains ordered. UNTAME presents Saving Sensoria

This Children’s Day, embark on Saving Sensoria, an immersive adventure that promotes inclusivity. Follow Sarah, a visually impaired girl, on a quest to save her village’s Heart. Harness your senses to help her recover stars and restore light to Sensoria. During a post-show activity, engage more senses while making fizzy lemonade! Part of Science Centre Singapore’s UNTAME event, this roving theatrical experience is ideal for kids 4 to 8 years.

Dyson Celebrates Children’s Day

Six Dyson stores are hosting an interactive in-store experience this Children’s Day weekend. Kids can get creative with washable markers, while parents breeze through clean-up using powerful machines. At hairstyling stations, girls can slick their hair into sleek ponytails while boys get a cool blow-out. Then learn about the importance of clean air through gamified experiences and air purifier demos. Go early for free balloons too!

Singapore River Festival 2024

Get ready for a dazzling night out at the Singapore River Festival. This year’s ‘Lights and Colours’ theme promises spectacular light shows on iconic bridges, live music performances, and family-friendly activities. Explore the river’s rich history through heritage games, join the City Light Walk for a fun night adventure, and uncover hidden gems on a Taste of the Quays tour. There’s also a pizza-making workshop for kids and a Fur-tastic Paw-ty for pets!

Ride the Tides

To mark World Mental Health Day, community-centric social service agency Allkin Singapore presents Ride the Tides, a free community event celebrating mental wellness. Explore exciting interactive booths featuring virtual reality experiences and weaving activities, hear inspiring stories, and learn from mental health experts. Look forward to music and dance performances, goodie bags, and a chance to win lucky draw prizes too.

Deepavali Carnival Open House

Join the Deepavali festivities at the Indian Heritage Centre. Held over four weekends, the vibrant carnival theme offers enticing activities for the whole family. Learn the ancient art form of kalamkari, design floral displays, embark on walking trails to savour the flavours of Little India, and shop for festive gems. Kids can also enjoy fun crafts, games, and festive snacks at the lobby craft stations. It’s a fantastic way to experience the spirit of Deepavali!

The Japan Rail Fair 2024

Presented by Japan Rail Café, The Japan Rail Fair is making yet another stop in Singapore this month. Hop aboard the three-day event to experience travel insights, cultural experiences, and traditional Japanese flavours across 26 booths. Exclusive tasting opportunities include acclaimed wasabi and sake products from Azumino. The journey doesn’t stop there — a host of family-friendly activities, performances, and chances to win prizes also await.

Arts House Limited presents Sketch Up

A brand-new outdoor mass-sketching event in the Civic District, Sketch Up is set to take over the picturesque Empress Lawn. Join in to sketch the intricate neoclassical façade of the historic Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall. While you should bring your own sketching materials, kids ages 4 to 12 years will receive colouring sheets and pencils. Rain or shine, young or old, and regardless of skill level, all are welcome!

The World of Studio Ghibli

Ready to be whisked away into the fantastical realms of Studio Ghibli’s animated works? In one of its biggest transformations to date, ArtScience Museum brings The World of Studio Ghibli to life. Embark on an unforgettable journey through 11 well-loved films across 11 galleries spanning 2,400 sqm. Highlights include 16 large-scale theatrical sets, 16 whimsical art installations, and a shop retailing official merchandise and exclusive souvenirs.

Rainbow Centre presents CURIO

This October, Rainbow Centre launches CURIO, its first-ever public art fundraiser show. It showcases the amazing talents of 25 young artists with disabilities via 45 unique artworks. Not only is CURIO a chance to admire beautiful art, but it also supports individuals with disabilities. Register for guided tours and art workshops for kids and adults. Join the celebration of inclusion and creativity while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Pororo Park Singapore Revamp

If your kiddo is a Pororo Park fan, then do note that it is closing for renovations from 7 to 11 October. However, there’s plenty to look forward to upon its reopening. For example, a new Harry’s Campsite, Tong Tong’s Theatre, refreshed Loopy’s Café, and Rody’s Store. Also, there’ll be a Magical Show every weekend in October, and the first 100 guests on 12 and 13 October receive a free Sogurt frozen yogurt and Pororo Park balloon.

The Mongol Khan

Experience a multi-sensory feast combining a haunting original score, dramatic storytelling, dance, acrobatics, and puppetry in The Mongol Khan. Following a sell-out season at The London Coliseum, the Mongolian theatrical production takes centrestage in Singapore. With both Mongolian and English language productions, the gripping story explores the evolution of the Mongolian empire. Do note that children must be at least four years old.

If you’re a family who games together, then mark your calendars for one of the region’s must-attend gaming events.
