Fun doesn’t have to be over just because it’s too hot out or there’s a thunderstorm. Here’s our list of 13 free indoor playgrounds in Singapore to hang out with the kids!

Singapore’s either too hot or too wet. Between the 30-something degree heat and thunderstorms, playing outdoors may not always be feasible. Thankfully, many malls in Singapore have indoor playgrounds and air-con! The best part? Most of them are free! Here’s our pick of 13 free indoor playgrounds in Singapore where you can hang with the kids.

Causeway Point

West-siders, rejoice! Causeway Point has not one, but two free indoor playgrounds. There’s a safari-themed playground for toddlers, with different animals that little ones can climb and explore. The floors are padded, making this playground suitable even for crawling babies!

The second play area is a train-themed playground best suited to older kids. They can choose to go up a flight of stairs, or climb up a pole before sliding down! There are also two slides to choose from – perfect to keep the kids occupied while you shop.

IMM

If you live in Jurong, you’ll be glad to know that IMM has a large dry and water play area for your children! The dry playground is sheltered, perfect for really hot days or when it’s drizzling outside. This play area features shorter slides for younger ones, and higher ones for older kids who want more excitement.

The ground is padded, making it suitable for babies or younger children to crawl around without fear of injury. There are also balancing beams for kids who want to test their balance! A small rock wall also offers more challenge for older kids accompanying their siblings.

313 @ Somerset

If you’re dining at Food Republic at 313 @ Somerset, you won’t have to worry about keeping the kids occupied. Just outside the food court is a sheltered play area for children, so parents can have their meals uninterrupted.

This play area is more suited to younger kids, with padded floors and low equipment for them to explore. There’s also a small playhouse at the end of the playground! The playhouse features interactive panels that’ll help keep your tots entertained. If that isn’t enough, there are coin-operated rides on the opposite side of the playground, too!

Marina Square

Parents love heading over to Marina Square for some serious shopping, and who wouldn’t? With an entire floor dedicated to kids’ clothes and necessities, this is an amazing place to get everything you need! Yet another plus point is the complimentary play area nearby.

This vehicle-themed playground features a fireman pole for maximum fun! Older kids can explore the firetruck while parents focus on shopping. This play area is also suitable for little ones! With padded flooring and a small see-saw, your toddler will have no problem playing.

Lot One

Lot One is another great option for parents who live in the West! This mall has a playground that features both dry and wet play areas. Suitable for 5 to 12 year olds, older kids will be able to play together with their younger siblings too.

The dry playground is sheltered, perfect for days when the sun’s blazing down. There are lower slides for the little ones, and longer (or higher) slides for more adventurous Kiddos. There’s even a corkscrew-like pole for kids to test their agility! We predict older kids will gravitate toward the “standing swing”, while tots may prefer the merry-go-round instead.

JEM is one of the most popular shopping destinations amongst parents who live in the West! With so many malls to choose from in the vicinity, it only makes sense that the kids should have their very own space too. With their newly renovated play area, your little ones will be occupied while you get the groceries done!

The play area at JEM includes a netted dry playground and a wet play area. The dry playground is sheltered – perfect if it’s sunny or pouring. The netted play area is fantastic, older kids can challenge themselves and climb up and down to their hearts’ content!

This playground also features trampolines for kids of all ages! We predict your Kiddos spending lots of time bouncing up and down. If you’ve got younger ones, don’t worry. The play area also features little tunnels in the ground for crawling, and a small fountain for them to explore.

Residents of the North won’t be left out either! Having undergone a huge renovation earlier this year, the revamped Northpoint City offers a great play area for kids. This staggering 5,400 sq ft wet and dry playground is not to be missed!

The dry playground is animal-themed, and suitable for children below 12 years and/or 1.1m in height. While it’s smaller than the wet play area, kids still have ample room to run around. Younger ones will enjoy exploring the different animal structures!

City Square Mall

City Square Mall offers a mini toddler playground where little ones can have fun while parents shop! This toddler play area includes a little playhouse for kids to play pretend and explore. There’s also a few teeter-totters to keep them occupied.

Padded floors make this playground extra safe for young ones, too. And if they’re bored of playing on their own, there are coin-operated rides nearby for some extra fun!

Paragon offers one of the most popular children play areas in town! With the entire 5th floor of the mall dedicated to children’s fashion and toys, it’s the one-stop destination for parents. Parents can take their time to shop leisurely while their little ones have fun just a few steps away!

This mini playground features 2 crawl tunnels and 2 short slides for kids to explore. Meant for younger toddlers, the floor is also padded to ensure that they can crawl around without hurting their knees. Older kids can choose to accompany their younger siblings on the playground, or try a coin-operated ride nearby.

Suntec City

Suntec City is one of the most popular family destinations every weekend. It makes sense that they’d have a free indoor playground specially catered to children! Parents can shop without worry while younger ones occupy themselves at this play area at the East Wing.

Meant for children between 2 to 9 years old and/or under 1.2m in height, this playground is best suited to younger children. Older kids will appreciate the climbing tunnel that provides an extra challenge! Their younger siblings can occupy themselves at activity stations nearby.

These activity stations include a colour machine where kids can learn how to combine colours. Or they can explore another station where they’ll discover different materials or crawl through a mini tunnel for extra fun!

Waterway Point has become the jewel of the North East since it’s opening a few years back. The prime destination for families living nearby, its nice scenery is complemented by tons of shops and food outlets in the mall. And what could be better than a play area for little ones too?

This playground includes both a dry and wet zone, and is aptly named ‘Happy Park’. Enjoy a view of the gorgeous waterway as kids run around and explore the playground! The Dry Zone is sheltered and padded – making sure your kids aren’t exposed to the elements, and making it extra safe.

The long tunnel slides are perfect for older, more adventurous kids! While shorter slides next to padded hills are better suited for younger tots. The stars of this playground are the trampolines in the ground – making sure all kids have a bouncing good time!

Tampines Hub boasts of many play areas, but today we’re focusing on two free indoor playgrounds. Kids Playzone is located indoors (but without air-conditioning), this playground is best for when it’s raining.

The concept of this play area may be simple, but it’s loads of fun. Simply filled with bouncy castles, this playground is popular amongst older children. Sometimes, nothing is more fun than bouncing around! There are also beanbags for parents to lounge on while their kids have fun.

The second play area is another indoor playground at level 2. This 5,000 sq ft playground is the perfect escape for children! The entire play area is fully padded, making it a safe space for kids to crawl and jump as much as they want. Don’t worry, there are seats so parents can rest their weary legs too!

Stand-out features of this playground are bouncy trampoline hills, tunnels, and interactive activity stations featuring a steering wheel. Younger kids may prefer the UFO merry-go-round or the small slide. There’s even a swing that wheelchair-bound children can use, with a seatbelt to ensure your child’s safety.

Even if we’re not leaving the country, Singaporeans still love hanging out at Changi Airport. Our state-of-the-art terminals have everything you could want – food, shopping, and play areas!

If you’ve been to Terminal 3, we’re sure you’ve come across the mini kids’ play area at Basement 2. Most suited to toddlers, this playground has low structures that young ones can explore and climb. There’s also a mini see-saw that encourages them to play together! We love that it’s next to Starbucks, so Mum and Dad can enjoy a cuppa while keeping an eye on Bub.

If you’re at Terminal 1 instead, there’s another playground to check out! Located at the Viewing Gallery, it’s another small play area for toddlers to enjoy. There are also coin-operated machine rides nearby for extra entertainment!
