Chris, as long as fetus is growing well, u shldnt be too concerned if u r putting on weight or not. U most likely has no tummy to begin with, that's why your tummy is still relatively small. my gf put on 2kg in first tri.. Thereafter 2kg every mth. When I saw her at 6 mths, she was big ok. U wld think she is due too. She has a bigger tummy to begin with b4 pregnancy.
. Putting slot of weight too early wld be tough later part.. Walking will be difficult too n increase the risks of GD. I hv put on close to 2nd now. My hip joints r aching daily. After food, I pant badly when I walk. Energy level is v low. U wldnt wan to be like me. For women who have been pregnant b4, tummy muscles r looser so tummy out very fast. Fetus is still so small now, the bigger tummy bump can't be caused by fetus right? So is fats!
Bliss, FYI, one of my high profile portfolio was taken away from me in 4Q coz I was On hl due to m/c. My boss passed to a junior staff to cover, later promoted the person this yr n was nv returned bk to me. U can imagine how sad I feel.,. ESP as if I wan all these hl! Anyway, now I look at it as a blessing in disguise. I hv less stress at work now n I will knock off on time. Coz end of day, I wan to collapse onto the bed already!
I m at the start of 12wks. Still got 2 wks more before hitting 2nd tri at 14 wks. Full 13 wks mark the end if first tri.
Cramps = pain at the centre of the entire womb. Muscle pull, is at a particular position at lower abdominal n at times can hurt too, n it comes n goes. Cramps r not v good but muscle pulls r ok as womb is expanding for growing embyro. Embyro enters fetus stage at 9wks. If cramps, dun take cooling stuff. Take warm drinks n food.
Stomach discomfort is common during pregnancy. Uterus will expand as embyro grows n push upwards on our stomach. It is often a cause of indigestion or morning sickness. Our digestion slows down during pregnancy to allow time for the food to be absorbed into our body. If u r suffering from these, avoid spicy food, porridge n take small meals. Instead of 3 main meals a day, take 6 small meals a day. Increase your intake on vitamin C food daily as vit c cannot be stored in our body. So needs to replenish everyday. Google online u will know which food/fruits r rich in vit C. Eg kiwi, orange, etc. Vit c builds up your resistance level so tt u dun fall sick easily. If we fall sick, is going to be tough a lot of medicine we can't take. Thus, prevention is better than cure ESP the flu virus is now going around.
Pregnant women also prone to get nose congestion. Google online to find out why. Dun mistake it as flu. U may wish to get the book "what to expect when u are pregnant" at borders which is currently on sale. If u r using iPhone, u can download the app for free. It gives u lots of information.
All we can do now is take care of ourselves so that we dun fall sick, be happy, dun stress n think positively. Why I say that? Dr's can't do much now if we get Cramps, spottings, etc. All they can do is order bed rest n give hormones support n monitor closely. The only time they can really do something is after 24wks. Thus, we really hv to maintain a healthy n positive life style.. If not, it will affect our precious little ones.
