Any 2008 MTBs staying in the East (Tanjong Rhu and Marine Parade) <IMG SRC="http://www.singaporemoth

I've never been to any motherhood or baby fair in the expo.. only those in Taka... but i have heard a lot of "horror" stories abt how crowded these fair at the expo can be... maybe go on wkdays will not be so bad.

jamie,

oh... that apt is further down... mine is nearer to the katong laksa.. Bellezza is very new.. just completed... didn't know ppl move in liao

zanna
actually i didnt know there's another apt there besides Bellezza, coz that area mainly landed.
Bellezza is very new, just T.O.P not long. i wont join my sis there coz need to take care of my boy.

Jamie, Catherine..

hee dunno leh.. I wanted to go.. but hubby might not let me.. think it's gonna be super crowded weekday or weekend.. see how ba =)

=)

Catherine,

hee.. true also... sometime I wonder how come these ppl no need to work... hee

Kelly,

if u go must be careful leh... ask ur hubby to go with u

Jamie, Zanna

ya hor, school holidays somemore.. now thinking not to go liao.. hmmm.. yup if i go, definitely ask my hubby to go with me.. but he'll be too stressed.. hahaha..

by the way, Zanna, wat r the 'horror' stories u heard abt the expo fairs? actually i've only been to fairs at Suntec.. crowded like crazy.. but never been to any mother fair before..

now 3rd trimester liao.. some more doc advised not to go out too often =( haiz.. think most prob not going..

Hi Phyllis,

I went to BHG, Isetan last few weeks.. they have 20% discount on most baby items.. maybe you can check out.. OG i think i saw them having 20% but only for Amex credit cardholders, not sure whether they still have it now..

kiddy palace 15% for customers, 20% for members..
that's about all I know.. went to as many places as I can during my 2nd trimester.. hehe but now can't walk so much liao..

oh ya, what's the sale at Taka? how much discount?

=)

hi Kelly,

im not sure abt the taka sale...thats wat my frenz told me.. nvr like to cramp wif so many ppl.. plus i've bought most of my stuff except the beds. so wanna look ard for it now.

Kelly,

Heard from ppl parking is horrible and it's so packed that you can't move... and for mummies like u in the 3rd trimester, can be dangerous cos some ppl will just push & push to get thru without considering other ppl.

I think like jamie say lor.. won't miss much 1.. probably the shopping centres have better buys.

Jamie, Zanna,

ya lo.. cos' initially quite tempted to go and see how cheap they can be.. hmm i guess, ya i think i jus get from those dept stores then anyway =) can save quality time with hubby instead of wasting time to wait for parking and squeeze with ppl.. =)

Phyllis,

me too, i got most of the stuff except bed and bath equipment.. i went OG Orchard after work before and it's quite deserted there actually.. BHG also =) for beds, quite some time ago i saw at Taka also quite good bundle.. dunno whether have or not now.. =p

my hubby very very stressed when going public places and taking buses.. up to the extent he dun even allow me to go anywhere except go home everyday after work.. =p

phyllis,
mothercare also on sale

Hey Mummies..

Sorry i muz really ask u all a stupid qn...

How do u all store the EBM into freezer? i mean in small portion or all together for the day? And where do u store the milk into?

Paiseh... Me 1st time mum then a bit ku-ku in breastfeeding and stuff.

phyllis,
you can use those glass bottles and store them. Or buy those breastmilk freezer bags, after each expressing. Cos after expressing must cover and put in freezer already. So next express will be a diff bottle. Was told plastic bottles not so good to be frozen. If fridge ok. But if put in freezer then glass would be better.

hope my answer is what you question asking.

phyllis,
I got the Nuk ones. I think Medela should have also. The breastpump you bought already right ? check with them if they have the glass bottles, cos sometimes diff breastpumps and bottles may not be a 100% match.

Phyllis,

I store all together for the day. What I do is express into the bottles that comes with the pump and put them in the fridge. At night then I transfer all the excess into milk bags and freeze. I find freezing in bottles takes up to much space in the freezer.

Hi all.. I'm a SAHM-TB.. staying in Kembangan. So glad to see there's some Eastern thread going on. The other one that I post in East Coast Mummies is really quiet. I have a DD who's 17 months, and have a second one coming along in early August... However, now on bed rest... SO BORED!

hi firsttimemommy
congrats on your #2. my 2 kids age gap also very close, 1.5yrs. my #1 is 21mths & #2 is 3mths. i'm now a SAHM

hi firsttimemommy,
i think we chat at the east coast mummies thread before
happy.gif
have you been to the new cafe at kembangan cc ? maybe we can meet there since we're both "waiting" .. hahaha.

hi jamie! so you are also having your maternity now? Is it difficult to cope with their ages so close? How do you do it?

Hi catherine! O, I didn't even know that there is a new cafe at kembangan CC.
happy.gif
I haven't been out much, as you can see. Sure! We can meet there, once I am allowed to get out of the house! Hey, I can't remember, are you already a SAHM or are you a SAHM-TB? I remember there was someone who was also a SAHM-TB. I tendered my resignation 2 days ago... feel so relieved.

kimmies
my maternity ended liao. i'm now a SAHM. welcome to the SAHM club keke....
yes, its difficult to cope at times. i dont hv a maid so my mum helps me during the day. at nite, hubby will take care of 1 while i take care of the other lor.
my #1 is very sticky to me so sometimes its pretty tough.
so isit a boy or girl for your #2?

hi jamie.. the good thing (or it could be a bad thing) is that my #1 is not sticky to me. She's not sticky to anyone.. LOL! Hopefully, that alleviates the problem. You are very lucky that your husband is so hands-on. My husband has to work late almost everynight, so I have a full time helper to help me.

Heya Catherine, have you tendered or were you intending to do that after you have had your maternity?

kimmies
i chose to work part time half day so tat i could spend more time bonding with her. i guess tats y she's very sticky & close to me.
my hubby also often works late & on weekends too but will try to be home by 9pm to tuck my #2 to bed. its tiring for him but no choice lah, just hv to bear with it for this few years.
well at least u hv a helper so shd be able to cope lah.

kimmies,
I'm doing property so I am taking time off until next year before going back to work. But cos my work timing is rather flexible so I haven't really decided on how "active" I want to be next year yet
happy.gif

catherine
u property agt? i'm also fr property industry many years ago but not agt lah. my hubby would very much like me to become one tho coz flexible time mah keke...

catherine
yup i agree keke... i was fr JLL & CBRE. actually u can still contd after u gave birth mah. unless u looking after bb yourself.

O yes, catherine, now I remember, you were a pty agent. hey none of you were from Propnex?? haha.. I'm abit biased against agents from Propnex because when I bought this house, my agent tried to cheat the seller and I, and we ended up in the small claims court! What a hassle, but in the end, we won! hahaha..

O yes, I need to psyche myself up for TBF again. My #1 was partial towards the end, and I didn't do direct latching as well. This time I am quite determined too! My friend told me some tips.

- The moment I give birth, start taking fenugreek.
- From day 1 onwards, insist with the nurse to bring the baby down every 3 hours, even if the baby is asleep and just let the baby suckle.

Any other tips??? My #2 is a boy, my family has history of asthma on the boy line, and my husband has history of eczema on the girl line, so I'm quite determined to let this work out. Argh! Stress!

kimmies
wat a bad experience u hv with agts.

breastfeeding
i also partial BF for my 2kids. i didnt take fenugreek coz i feel its better to be natural. i tried fish & papaya soup but also didnt increase much.
where will u be delivering? i delivered in GlenE & the nurse will auto bring in our bb every 3hrs, even when bb is sleeping.
your girl has eczema? dont worry & stress yourself, it will affect your supply.

I will be deliverying in TMC.. during m #1, they didn't bring the baby to me le.. or at least I cannot remember la. my girl doesn't have eczema, but I'm afraid that my boy will have. *cross my fingers*!

hey ladies, I got quick question.. not sure if you gals have the answer. Before I tendered my resignation, one of my concerns was, what happen if my bb premature (choi choi choi!) and need to go ICU to stay for abit, then the medical expenses will no longer be covered by my company.

but now that all newborns are automatically covered by Medisave, I shouldn't have this concern or worry anymore right?

kemmies
i think there's a max u can claim fr medisave, i'm not very sure though coz its my hubby who takes care of all the bills.
