Vegetarian Moms

Hi friends, am a mom to be in my last month and am a vegetarian. I needed to pay special attention thru my oregnancy to eat proteins which in my case came from lentils and beans. Offlate I have been eating eggs in breakfast. Other than that you can have avery healthy diet eating lots of fruits and vegetables. Good for digestion as well

Hi Hui,
I'm also 1st time mummy & expecting a girl too!

Btw, anyone has a gd n reliable pt cleaner to introduce? I nd it, managing 2 bb is not easy.

hi melly jong,

Im currently 30 weeks already, have already put on 11 kg so far. I havent been on any iron supplements too. Like what maplemummy says, eat more green vegetables and fruits after meal for vit C to help ur body absorb the iron. Drink soup w red dates or take longan drinks for iron too

I think banana is rich in iron too.

Hi Hui,

Thanks for your advice on food...

Made logan, red date & wolfberry drink but was too "heaty" for me & ended up with sore throat & nose bleeds... Anyone have this problem?

Maplemummy,
I know a super good cleaner but china lady. Have used her few times for one time cleaning service (like post renovation, spring cleaning etc), not on regular basis like 2x/week. Have recommended her to friends who also say she is good. Her charges are market rate (4hrs $50 if I recall correctly). But I'm not sure if she is reliable for you to pass her key to do cleaning if no one is at home, as I have not tried. So far there is always me or my mum around. Anyway, PM me is you want her no, ok?

Hi Maplemummy,

Didn't get yr pm...is it regarding the cleaning lady? Unfortunately she has gone back to china! Oops!

And yes, I'd like to meet up with whoever is keen! Let's organise a gathering last weekend of May? We can brain storm for a suitable venue & topics to discuss etc...

Hi mummies. Just to share.. I was recently prescribed Obimin, and the kind pharmacist @ KKH told me that it's not vegetarian friendly. She recommended me to get multivit from Kordel's which is easily available at Guardian or Unity Pharmacy.

Yup, i also heard from the kkh pharmacist that Obimin is not suitable for vegetarians. Hence, I have been taking Revicon throughout my whole pregnancy although it is just a normal multi-vitamin supplements anyone can take.

Recently went to an Abbott seminar and they have this pre-natal vitamins, Pramilets FA, which is contains only 1 animal product, sheep wool. I'm ok with that so for my last month i'm taking this instead of Revicon.

Count-down 19 days!!

i've been taking obimin too... i didn't know it's not suitable for vegetarian. my doctor does know that i am vegetarian when i rejected the prescription of fish oil. i'm taking flaxseed oil instead. i'm ovo-lacto-vegetarian so i still take eggs and milk. in fact i've been taking a lot of eggs... some days even one for each meal.

hi veg mummies,

May i check on vegan mummies and do you all have regular period? Fyi, i not vegetarian but 70 to 80% of my diet are vegan. I do not take red meat but consume little white meat and trying hard to hv one egg daily. Not sure izit due to this, my menses and ovulation is not regular. Nw ttc...

Hi everyone,
Sorry haven't visited this post for so long! I delivered baby gal on 10 Sept, she is 3.660kg and 51cm. It was really an incredible experience, the birth was a miracle but the pain excruciating! Haha...Now am recuperating & doing confinement.

Hi Maplemummy, I found the pt cleaner contact again from another friend. R u still keen? I'll pm u details.

Hi Mrs Ong, I'm vegan (no eggs & no milk) and have regular period. In fact less than 6mths after I converted my diet, I conceived.

Mellyjong, congrats to your newborn! Tks for ur replied as i want to find out more coz i wonder isit due to my diet that why menses has been missing. I google that most vegan ladies has scanty or irregular period. Btw is it hard to keep on vegan during pregnancy and may i roughly know what is ur daily diet like? Its important to have B12 in your diet as most vegan lack of this vit.
