Underweight harder to conceive

I did SO-IUI and started going for acupuncture for 1 month , started drinking their herbal tea for 1 week but stopped as the IUI doctor advised against it. Another TCM doc told me to gain weight first before going for another round. But this seems totally impossible for me. I am thinking of drinking their tea whilst having menses so it dosent clash with western med/IUI. I have been underweight all my life. BMI only 16. Previously i tried drinking milk, now on ensure plus for more than 8months. But only gained 1kg or so. TCM Recommended BOOST Isocal. Have yet to try.I think i need to gain some fats in order to get pregnant. Anyone with such low bmi managed to conceive? I keep having the impression that if i cant gain weight, im unable to get pregnant. Any advice?

My bmi is 19 but I got pregnant thru natural way.
Used to be underweight (bmi 17) in my 20s but after aging when Im in mid thirties and less stress in my life become acceptable weight.

Try to remove the stressors in your life? No need to force yourself to eat alot but try to eat more nutrient dense food.

Yes, being underweight can sometimes make it harder to conceive. Your body needs a certain amount of fat to keep your hormones balanced and support ovulation. If your weight is too low, it might affect your menstrual cycle or even stop it completely.

If you're trying to get pregnant, it might help to talk to a doctor or dietitian to find a healthy weight that works for you. Even small changes can make a difference.

im trying acupuncture also. TCM said my digestion is no good, probably why i cant gain weight. Not sure if acupuncture works but just giving a try.

My menses is regular. Any idea how dietitian works? Consult them and they give you a list of food to follow?
