Support - anyone above 40 who is TTC?

I am so inspired by your case, may i know how old is your husband? And whether he has any underlying issue? I am 43, and had been trying for 3 years. My husband is 47 this year.

Hihi chance upon this forum. I am coming 44 years old and just started my ivf journey yesterday. I had my live birth girl when I am 35 and following 3 MC at very early stages. Not sure due to poor egg/sperm. Did test and got slight high on NK cell.
Trying for so long for no 2, saw tcm and lately seeing tcm that heard good to treat male problem as my hub got motility n morphology only 1%. Also do accu at tcm for both of us.

Kkh doc told us due to our age the only option is ivf as I wanted to try SO-IUI.
So here we are doing our ivf after postponing for few months due to covid19.
Hope can get some encouragement here plus try to be relax during this journey.

All the best to you! I’m 45 now, and my kids from another marriage are 11 and 6. I’m still unsure if I want to TTC.
 
Hi,

I am 40 years old and had been TTC for the past 12 years. Underwent 2 cycles of failed IVF and still TTC.
Recently noticed that the menses last for 2 days with the flow and 2 days just spotting only. Previously it used to be 4 days of flow +2 days of mild flow/spotting.

Anybody else facing a similar situation.

Feeling a bit nervous as still trying and looking forward to getting a baby.
 
I used to have 4 days of flow and 2 days of mild flow. But now, i only have 3 days of flow 1 day of mild flow and 1 day of spotting. And i’m 43 this year.

How did the dr Clear your tube? during the HSG or need another procedure?

Cleared 1 side during the hsg procedure. Just to update, i went for my hsg in feb and did my iui in march. Though it is not successful but i am going to try again during next month, and the dr says it is not required to go another round of hsg. Anyone has blocked tubes that can advise?

I just visited fertility doc 2 weeks ago and was told that my best chance is via IVF at this age. and even so, it is only 5-10% probability. did my hormones and reserves blood tests (low but normal for my age of 45) and HSG (unblocked) already, . Still very undecided on what to do next. Heard from doctor that there's an injection to stimulate the follicles and maturity of eggs so I can ovulate. but he said that the number of injections will be around the same as IVF, just that with IVF, they need to extract the matured eggs out for fertilisation, then put the fertilised eggs back to the womb.

can anyone help me with all these information? I am really new to all these.
 
Hi . I am new to this forum ! I am 48 yrs old , just went to hyfosy check up. Doctor said I got polyps and my Both Fallopian tube seem blocked . Suggest me to remove the polyps or do keyholes surgery and removes polyps . I very scared of keyholes surgery don’t know is it very pain . Doctor suggest if I don’t do keyholes surgery then just removes polyps and suggest my age to do IVF but percentage is not high . Feel very sad and devastated because I really hopes to have baby but don’t know the process of IVF is it very painful and I am scared of needles injection . Seek your advise what should I do .

Hi im new. Went for hsg today but i panicked too much and they asked me to come back for next cycle. I didnt know if there is a block it can be cleared. Doc did not mention anything to me.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum.. Am already 40 this yr and thinking of trying IUI.. Just wondering if anyone know whether there'll be subsidies for IUI for someone above 40?

Also, should I get a polyclinic referral letter to go NUH/KKH fertility clinic to get subsidized rates?

Or should I just go private hospital/clinic?

Any dr to recommend?
 
Hi all, I just turned 40, have been TTC for 2 years, Have 2 kids 10 years and 3 years, and a missed abortion (empty sac) in 2019. After this, found out I have antinuclear antibodies, so now on medication for autoimmune issues. My menses cycle getting shorter, so I’m worried about perimenopause, and wonder if I still have chance to conceive. I don’t think I can try IVF coz I missed the age to try. I would like to find out more about tcm

Mine 1 day heavy, 1 day medium and the rest of the days spotting but all in all I notice quite a lot of clots. My cycle has also started to shorten. Is your cycle still same number of days? Mine used to be 30-33... this year become 27-29 days, by CD21 already cramping badly and some discharge. I’m so stressed about this.

My day 1 is medium, day 2 heavy, day 3 medium and rest of the day 4 & 5 are light. Recently has always been 26 days cycle. But used to be 28, when i’m in my early years. My menses cramp and clot has improved after seeing TCM and stopped taking Cold drinks and food for 2 years. Dun feel stress, going for Accupunture may help.

I’m looking to seek Tcm help. I tried asking gp if can do blood test for hormone check, always get declined. I’ve been on bai Feng Wan weekly but still cycle getting shorter.

my cycle same as you, just no cramps. Used to be 28 days now 26
 
Hi I'm turning 42 soon. planning to do IVF with KK. I went for my hormone test last week. waiting to see doc again end July,
went for my HCG but couldnt go thru with it so have to wait for next cycle to do it again. haiz... so depressing

Hi Do you mind sharing the costs for IVF at a private hospital in Singapore. I was actually going to try at JB's Regency Specialist Hospital but the Covid situation is preventing me. So I'm wondering how much will it cost in Spore.

Yes is a standard protocol to conduct this test to ascertain that the progesterone level is optimal to support the pregnancy.

we paid around 10K (after medisave deduction)
 
@Unqiuename Dr loh just replied my email:

You first cycle only has 4 oocytes retrieved.
If few eggs may not be worthwhile doing day 5.
But we hope to get more next cycle.
Can you come to the clinic in TMC to get some dhea and q 10 supplement?

but i think we still can try to ask for d5 transfer for next cycel

i went to see dr loh in year 2019, as i have low AMH, he suggested that i look for alternative egg. After that i decided not to go ahead.

so are you still trying? some members are taking ubiquinol for 6 months and it does help to improve the amh.

i’m still trying and I went for iui but its not successful. I’m taking some Chinese medicine and Accupunture.
 
Not sure if u ever heard of 完美女人 from Malaysia (they always advertise on radio). My sis in law tried 7 years no baby but after taking the tcm(it's a standard set) she was conceive. U can go Google, I can't paste the link in here. I have no luck cos of my age. But my hubby is taking their male fertility pill n it help alot on male sperm.

Hi I got call back and take the jab too... As nv hit 100... What's your reading? Mine was 71.. Sigh dont know isit a sign of anything...
 
Sorry to hear that... But btw i have 2 failed frozen and this is my second fresh cycle.. My first fresh cycle is a success. Pls dont give up..

I'm 44 yo. I got naturally pregancy. I just had miscarriage this morning after got spotting for few days :( It was 7 week pregnancy.

I always wonder why good looking embryos dun implant? Is it becos my body is not ready for them?

Anyone has been successful with fresh cycles? I usually feel v bloated after the egg extraction and when the embryos were implanted during the fresh cycle, they dun implant and I wondered was it becos my body was not well and not ready to take them in?

Sigh...
 


I went to KKH, asked for hormone blood test, actually doctor was unwilling to do, but anyway I did and it’s during CD4. I don’t know the significance of the result and I won’t be seeing the doctor until 3 mths time. If anyone knows what I should be looking out for, my FSH is 3.4, LH 2.9 and ES 186. Anyone knows?
im gonna see Tcm next week, I hope a little more information can help
