superstitions when pregnant

Hi mummies,
Anyone know reason behind e superstition that baby cots is best not to be set up or put at home too early?

i bought a lot of clothes for baby even before i was preganant and ppl told me not to do it. ut i dont belive in such ridiculous superstition so i continues buying and i delievered a healthy and cute baby girl last year. hoping will be a boy the nxt one coz i bought both baby girls and boys clothes.

Need to set up.. but I think the only reason why not so early is in case it gets dusty.. of cos u can wipe in once a while. I set up mine when I was around 35 weeks though.. partly cos I'm a bit lazy to buy the cot. . But the excitement comes in once the bb cot was set up

ya true! haha... i was thinking to put my baby's stuff into the cot after setting it up. heee... excited much! Btw side track- infants dont need pillow right?
