My friend recently paid a certain amount to the agent to secure a room. However the Tenant Agreement details did not match to what the agent verbally told my friend.
My friend asked to amend the contract but the agent refused because she said its formality but can do certain things behind the landlord’s back. My friend knew this is wrong and told the agent he will not be proceeding with the signing of the TA and he wants his deposit back.
Now the agent MIA and is refusing to pick up calls or reply to messages. The TA is not signed but she is holding on to the deposit.
Any idea if the deposit can be returned back??
