Hi all, I tested today at 17DPO and got BPF. Went to see gynae and he prescribed Cardiprin (100 aspirin) to take once a day. Said it can prevent miscarriage. This is my 3rd after 2 previous miscarriage. I hope all will be good. I have tried all means, TCM acupuncture, BBT, OPK, folic acid & Blackmore. Don’t lose hope! Baby dust to all!

yes, aspirin has been used by many gynae although the benefits are not proven to be certain. best to be taken only when dr prescribed as aspirin will cause blood thinning. take care.

Hi give a hope,
No specific reason. Just tht i have a fren who has fren done the d&c by this gynae before and the doctor himself is my fren's gynae. So after consideration i just went for the gynae. I was actually looking for comments for those done by prof but unfortunately it is not many.

I visited him last month to discuss about our option. I had 3rd mc in April. Will be doing all the test with him this month. Really hope we can shed some light and prepare for next pregnancy again.
Do you mind let me know the list of test to be done?

We opt for full test which consist of 2 parts. First part had to draw blood during menses period. About 7 tubes. Second part had to draw blood with fasting after menses, about 18tubes. Hubby also had to do blood test for karotyping and sperm analysis. But I don’t have details on the tests they are doing with all the blood samples.

Hi all,
Nuh just told me that prof Mahesh no longer taking any new patient in nuh. In addition, the phone operator told me NUH no longer have recurrent pregnancy loss clinic.
So does it mean we can only see prof Mahesh in Mount E nowadays ? I had 3 recurrent miscarriage in a year and would like to see specialist/gynae in this area before ttc. I am still recovering mentally and physically from the loss and hope can at least find the answer. I also have lots of questions and hope the gynae can be patient in answering my questions. Thank you.
Baby dust to all!

Hi, i had 2 early pregnancy mcs and decided to see Prof choolani for help at mt e novena . I have went thr the detailed recurrent pregnancy loss tests and eventually found out i have protein S deficiency. Sticky blood. He is taking good care of me nw who is at 3rd trimester. Very careful and detailed.
Hi how did you know you have protein s deficiency? Did you only have this during pregnamcy or even after? And if you had this only during pregnancy did you retest your protein s after pregnancy? I desperately need some information on this condition... thank you

Hi how did how did you know you have protein s deficient? Did you test during pregnancy or maybe after miscarriage and did you still have it after pregnancy?
Hi all,

Just want to share my part of journey,
I was Prof Mahesh patient even before the setup of Reccurent miscarriage clinic and i have gone through 3 mid trimester miscarriage with early placenta abruptio, all my babies were too premature to survive despite being born alive.
For my 4th pregnancy, i was seeing Prof Mahesh weekly on top of the once a mth recurrent miscarriage clinic with Dr Sheila Vasoo. I had Protein S deficiency and Antithrombin III deficiency. Was on alot of meds and spent alot of $$ and putting myself in greatt danger of complications , i was even hospitalized for 104 days just to sustain my pregnancy, I am grateful for all the care, love and attentions they have given me with empathy. Never once was i left to fend for myself alone. They are always there to comfort me and give me moral support. Looking at my 6 months old boy now makes all of those tears, worries and pain worth while. Please do not lose hope. =)
i ma

Hi I can attempt to answer this maybe. U can call to do a test before pregnancy if you're still trying to conceive. Finding out the condition allows u to take the right medication for support first.

Once u find out you're pregnant, go back quickly to a suitable gynae who knows how to manage and you'll be given the right medications.

I also have sticky blood, and also an. MTHFR gene mutation. I'm taking blood thinner injections daily and also different type of folic acid becoz of the gene mutation.

I saw Dr Sheila Vasoo at Choolani clinic to do all the tests for recurrent losses. She prescribed me meds to take according to the results. If you're interested in the range of tests and costs, I can PM u :)

Hi all,

I hope this thread is still ongoing. I just had a d&c today. Yesterday, I received my blood test result, supposedly for something I wanted to test unrelated; rheumatoid arthritis. Everything came back negative except ANA. My levels were 320, speckled. I am terrified and I think this could be the cause of my missed abortion. I do not know if it makes a difference if it was an empty sac, or must it have a fetus without hb to be linked to autoimmunity. I had 2 normal pregnancies before and the last was 1.5years ago. I was fit and healthy never had any problems. But recent months I started having joint pains hence I went for the blood test. Now I find out my results are not favourable. Does anyone have any insight on ANA?

Hi, I don't have very much info on ANA. I'm positive, borderline . initially doc didn't seem to think was an issue but I couldn't get pregnant after 2nd MC. After consulting with Dr Vasoo, she confirmed it was positive and put me on prednisolone for it. You prob need to take it and also monitor protein S when u are pregnant, I'm not sure if that's related to my other conditions. I had to take Clexane as well which is an injection blood thinner. unfortunately I still miscarried. I also have joint pains, strangely on my big toe and knees. I asked to be tested too for rheumatoid but it was negative. when I was on prednisolone, the pain was gone. yesterday I started to feel some pain in my elbow.

@Blessed daughter Hope you will recover wellf from yr D&C. It really sucks that those of us here have to go thru this difficult journey.

May I asked what do you mean by unrelated tests? did you test for other things?

Hi!
I was aching in my joints so I requested for a test for rheumatoid arthritis, which included the ANA test. Everything else under rheumatoid arthritis was negative but ANA was positive. Now I’m terrified if I have an autoimmune disease. And I think having autoimmune antibody can cause miscarriage. Mine was a blighted ovum, I don’t know if it makes a difference between a miscarriage where there was fetus but no heartbeat.

Did you do any further tests with regards to autoimmune diseases? I’m afraid of SLE/lupus, since ANA positive could mean lupus. I have joint pains in my knees, ankle, elbow, fingers but usually not all at once. I also have tightness in my chest, so I feel it’s all coming together quite scarily.

ANA could possibly be related to miscarriage, it's part of the recurrent preg loss panel tested for like 30 items, many tubes of blood incl. Lupus but R.A want one of them.

Maybe don't worry so much, cos there are meds that can help. you have had 1 MC ? chance of next preg being normal is high.

Can't seem to edit.

You may want to go for 2nd opinion. sometimes diagnosis can't be not accurate. I have a friend who was diagnosed R.A here... and when she moved, tot another country. they said it was something else.

Yes, it’s my first mc.. my first two were conceived quite ‘easily’ so I was really sure when Dr said it’s a missed abortion, that it was related to all my physical condition recently when I really haven’t felt well for months. We really hope to have one final baby. I really regret not trying for my last one earlier, when I was well.
I’m going to see Dr Sheila Vasoo tmr, for her advice on my ANA status, I’m more desperate to get well then my Husband will be willing to try for #3. But I just feel so strange and worry that there’s something more that is wrong with me.

Did you do tests with Dr Vasoo? Do you know the costs for tests done there? Actually I have rheumatology appt at TTSH, but the wait is till May, so I decided to seek faster and more professional help, found Dr Vasoo on Google then I see that many mommies go to her for recurrent miscarriage.

Oh. My tests were done during pregnancy. How does it affect? Will it make it a false positive or false negative? I went to see Dr Vasoo today and did the whole panel of tests but did not repeat the RA test. But I thought I mentioned to her I did the test during pregnancy.

O

oh, to clarify, my first round of test for RA wasn’t done with Dr Vasoo. It was done at TTSH. I brought the results to Dr Vasoo. Think that’s why she’s redoing the tests since now I have mc.
Oh I thought so good can do but my case not allowed keep saying doing while pregnant don't help n usually they do b4 pregnant or aft MC...

Ya I had d&c on Monday, so it’s been 3 days actually I wonder if my internal stable already or not. Dr Vasoo thinks it’s coincidental that the egg and sperm just not good quality also because of me and my hubby’s age. But I’m quite scared to try without making sure it’s not related to my ANA levels. Are you still TTC now?

Exactly. So many women who mc and happen to do ANA test realise it’s positive, it cannot just be a coincidence. I don’t want to risk another mc, it’s very weakening to the body. I’m 39 this year, not much time to waste already.

You had positive ANA? Or were u diagnosed with autoimmune? I’m actually very scared to be diagnosed. I have positive ANA and I’m in denial. I refuse to believe Lor. How come last time I’m so healthy and in a few months suddenly ache and pain everywhere. It’s very scary. I’m scared I’m going crazy

oh, I’m so sorry. Ok I understand now.
After this mc, actually I can sense hubby is abit resigned to fate. He told my mom we are not young also, so maybe it’s a sign we shouldn’t try anymore. Plus I’m the very anxious type. Ever since I started not to feel so well since late last year till I became pregnant, I was anxious and afraid that my health will affect baby, I was physically and mentally stressed. And it got so much worse after my ANA result. I just want to get my health sorted out before I dare to think of ttc. Honestly if after today’s blood tests, I really get diagnosed with SLE (touchwood), or RA (touchwood), I think I will have a problem trying to accept, these two autoimmune diseases are more dangerous in my opinion. I might not ttc already if that’s the case.
