From experience, usually the nurse would ask when was your last bowel movement.. If they think you need to clear, they will help you to clear bowel using enema method..

Btw, have a smooth delivery! :)
 
If your waterbag burst & dilate quite fast, the nurse will skip this stage.
It happen for both of my kids. :)
 
I heard before that we need to clear bowel, but not sure how it is done. I think it is good to clear so that we can have a peace of mind.
 
The nurse will use fleet enema to help you clear your bowel if you haven't done so.. You can check more w/ your gynae, I'm sure he/she would be able to tell you what is the common routine used in the hospital that you are going to deliver..

Oic, I think they sell this fleet enema at Guardian and Watsons, used for constipation.
