Prenatal Yoga

I m not too sure which is good.. Looking ard.. U? I m only in my week 11. Dunno is it too kiasu to look for one now. Hahaha..

Can look for one already.. But not all will take 1st trim.. Cos got to be very careful. 2nd trim will be good time to start. At 20 weeks now, I think I'll go for my usual yoga centre if I really wanna go via lazy to do myself. Lol.

Thanks, netzz! I will wait another 6weeks before I sign up.. Safer if 2nd trimester? Or 1st trimester also can? Used to go for exercise classes but now stop awhile.. Have withdrawal symptoms.. Lol

whiteteakat, you have to check with the place you wanted to go to for yoga lesson. it depends if the instructor is confident to take you in 1st trim or if they are comfortable to take in pregnant ladies at all.

For me, I did yoga quite frequently and rather intensive prior to pregnancy up till the point i found out i am pregnant. cos it is my first pregnancy, i prefer to stay on the safe side. :)

jelly bean, I started my pre-natal yoga at Mother and Child at Tanglin Mall yesterday. They take in from 13 weeks onwards. It's $110 for 4 lessons. I don't think we should anyhow go for normal yoga classes cos certain positions are not suitable for preggie ladies. That's why there is pre-natal yoga. My gynae also told me the only yoga I can go is pre-natal. The instructor not bad, class size is small and I feel my muscles aching after not exercising for 3 months. Which is good. :) can go check it out if you like.
another highly recommended one is como at delfi orchard. slightly more ex but heard its good.

Very much agreed!

Mummies do note if you feel uncomfortable in any asana postures during your pre-natal class, do take a break as well. If you are new to yoga, do take it easy and slowly cos as oppose to frequent yogis your body is not used to these exercises.

no problem.. go try and see if you like them before signing up ba. what I like abt mother and child is that they nv push or hard sell. Just tell me go take 1 lesson and pay them after the lesson over.

Como at Forum is good. Did my prenatal there. They are not pushy as well. You just buy sessions and use it but I think got time limit.

I forgot. Cos that was 2 years back. But I think they sell it in blocks of 5. Am going to go back there once my pregnancy is stable.

Como is $30 - $40 per session. What I don't like is that you must attend consecutively 5 sessions in a go.. Can't skip. think even if can skip at most also 1 lesson. After that it will be considered forfeited.

that's quite strict. i think something flexible is better cos sometimes i just feel so lazy till i dont want to move ard. hahaha...

Hmm. I think you mean must complete the 5 sessions in 5 weeks. But u can go any slots you want.

hi Won - What is the class size like? I was thinking of going for the Siglap one after my first trimester which is closer to my place. Thxs.

Como class size small can be around 5 if a lot of people then around 8-9?? I went to recee both mother and child and Como before. But I prefer Como cos its a proper yoga studio, Tanglin is like half a studio half a shop selling baby stuff.

glitterystar - yeah mother and baby is not a proper yoga studio and they cater to about 12 mothers per session. but the place gives you a very comfy feel with bright colors, cushions and all. it makes me wanna go yoga as compared to when I was doing normal yoga at True Yoga last time, very impersonal.. and also mother and baby has lots of posters abt breastfeeding and all around so you can read them while stretching..
