My son is now almost 10 months old. He was from Vietnam. Is yours a local adoption?

Can I check with you how long does it take for you to obtain citizenship for your son as I am currently waiting for his citizenship to be approved? Many thanks!
Oh dear, let me go home and check can. I think 1 and half years but I want to be sure

Sorry I completely forgot to reply. It took only 6 months
It’s better to go through agent. There are so many paper work involved. u need to attend the compulsory adoption briefing n filled up the adoption documents before u can officially adopt. U can check out my link below.
Adoption process is not simple n the reason why it is so because they want to make sure u are genuine in adoption n not impulsive. U have to attend adoption briefing n then submit documents for review. Home visit will be scheduled and followed by interview with relevant authorities. Once everything completed n approved u can adopt the child.

Lotus is quite established. They were in the documentary before so I supposed it’s quite safe.

Im starting a support group for both adoptees and adopters. This is coming from a personal story - i was adopted myself and carried alot of trauma and questions since I was just a child when I found out. Neither me or my adopted mother knew where to get the right help and we learnt by talking to each other.
I started wondering on how other families similar to us would have handled the situation. That curiosity led to talking to others and realising there is no support group (apart from adoption centres and religious groups). I would love to speak to other parents and children as well to see how we can help each other and change the adoption scene.
