Plan to give birth @ NUH

Hi all mummies,

I am planning to give birth at NUH. Any other mummies got any suggestion or comment?

Hi Amy...

NUH is a great hospital where they support women to be mobile and upright during labour, provided that baby and mum are doing well during labour. Being upright is really important as this can help baby descend faster because of the help of gravity and it helps the mum to cope with contractions a lot easier too.

Also, they have a waterbirth facility should you wish to labour and birth in the water.

What kind of birth are you planning to have?

My first baby was cesarean. Doctor advised me to go for cesarean this time.

Do you have some kind of medical condition that you can't have a vaginal birth for your next birth? If you don't, it's strongly encouraged to have a vaginal birth cause having a repeat c-section carries more risks for mum and baby.

The midwives are quite nice and supportive. The nurses at ward are also very good. They practice room in with baby at NUH and advocates breastfeeding. The nurses there are all train to help you with breastfeeding.

Prof Chong Yap Seng is highly recommended for his pro-natural approach to birth.
