PAP Smear abnormalities

Hello! Wondering if anyone has gone through a similar situation and can give advice. Recently I went for a PAP smear and received a LSIL result, with negative HPV test, about two weeks later I went in for a colposcopy and biopsy, I just got a call and the nurse said that they didn't find anything serious from the biopsy, but said that in cases like these they usually follow the result of the more serious one. They suggested 2 things for me. One is to do a procedure to remove all the top cells of the cervix, another is to do another colposcopy in 3-4 months. For the first one I'm worried as I've read that procedures like that can weaken the cervix and result in difficulties during pregnancy/child birth. I'm wondering if I should get a second opinion? Has anyone gone through something similar?

Hi I suggest u go for 2nd opinion first before u decide on anything. I got a positive HPV from public hosp and was scheduled for a colposcopy. I went to a pte gynae for 2nd opinion and he did for me a Pap smear first to check for abnormal cells first. He told me if my result is normal I can skip the colposcopy and do pap smear 1 year later. End up my result is normal and public hosp let me skip the colposcopy with the pap smear result. Hence I think you should go for a 2nd opinion and maybe do another pap smear to see if the result is the same and on what the doctor has to say.

Thanks for your reply! I'm getting the full report of the colposcopy tomorrow and will probably go find a second opinion.
