Morning ladies!

I'm new to the forum. It's my second pregnancy. EDD is 30 Jan. It's been a surprise to us as my first one will only be about 18 months old! I'm seeing Dr Irene Chua, who delivered my first one as well. Anyone seeing her too?

I found having mummy friends with similar aged babies great with my first one so looking forward to keeping in touch with you all. How's everyone's second trimester going? Hope all is well!

Welcome!!

My lil one was "tortured" quite bit from week 13 to currently (week 15). I had to do a partial root canal on week 14 and now at week 15, I am coughing with phlegm.

Hopefully all will be well during my 16th week scan.

I've just passed 16 weeks and suddenly I have this huge appetite, been eating quite a lot today. Nothing else has changed, still tired as always every day. Trying not to pack on the weight before my checkup on Saturday. So far have been gaining around 2kgs per checkup (every 4 weeks). Anyone's appetite suddenly increased?

Hihi,

I am at week 13, have not regained my appetite yet... heard is safe to gain 2kgs per month...

I still eat my 3 meals a day, not so much at night. Snack in between and trying hard to eat healthy, like fruits. My checkup yesterday, I gained 1.5kgs. Phew. Doc said I need to eat more green leafy vegetables. Oops. So far everything is good. Next appt need to go for detailed scanning at Orchard.

Hello all,

My first time in a forum. My Edd is early Jan and currently seeing Prof John at KKH.
Just 'suffered' 1 mth plus for my first trimester and thought i will not survive.
So glad I'm better now and can learn from you all as it is my first!

Prof John Tee does deliveries??? Heard from my IVF specialist that he don't do deliveries anymore. We wanted him initially.

I'm almost 18 weeks.. still no appetite and not gaining weight at all.. Went for our last check up at 16 weeks.. Doc say not a big concern as baby is growing well..

Abit worried about the not eating much part but really no appetite and dont feel like eating.. Especially veggies!

Hi All,

My wife is having MCDA twins and we are currently with KKH. Doc said there is a high chance for my wife to have preterm babies. Does anyone here have some knowledge about KKH's NICU charges? I heard that the bill could cost up to hundred thousands....:(

hi :)

how are you doing? may i know when are you due? i am about 20 weeks. Are you also consulting some mid wife along with Mary yang? or is it just the doc? I feel just visiting the doc is not enough as Mary yang seems not very open in providing info. Her staff also is quite unapproachable (may be due to work load and overall busyness of the clinic) so i dont know whom to call incase I just want to clarify few things...may be thats how all doctors are in Singapore but still I find it a little cold and waiting for an entire month (monthly appointments) to clarify things seems a little too long to me. let me know what your observations are... :)

Sorry for bothering you with lots of question as this is my first pregnancy I just want to be sure I am doing thing right.

Hi all
Liked to check when did u start taking supplements (vitamins), fish oil etc and what brands?

R they big n difficult to swallow?
Fish oil smelly for the brands u r taking?
Did u get them off the shelf or from gynae?
Thanks

My Gynae's instructions is to have 2 servings of milk per day, and 2 servings of fish per week.

And thus, I'm drinking a glass of milk plus calcium supplement (from gynae) daily.

As for DHA, I'm managing well to eat fish twice weekly. I see that there are Low Fat Milk, enriched with Omega at the supermarket, not sure if those helps too?

Does your spouse or you drive? If so, you will need a baby car seat. And maybe you can look at strollers with compatible car seats, so that you need not lift the baby out from the car seat and into the stroller, and instead fix the car seat directly to the wheels/stroller.

For my #1, i used a maxi cosi car seat with the quinny stroller. And personally, i prefer baby carriers to strollers. Much more convenient, it's a headache waiting for empty lifts.

Hi,

I'm also having mcda twins and have just been referred to kkh. Heard from my previous gynae that you can choose to deliver as private or subsidised patient prior to delivery. As a subsidised patient, the bill will be much more affordable though it is still not cheap. It's inevitable to feel worried about the costs and risks but I guess it's more important to enjoy the pregnancy and look forward to seeing your babies. That's what I try to tell myself everyday and it's really comforting to know that I'm not alone with mcda twins.

Also, do you mind sharing who is your current gynae?

Hello! I am about 18 weeks now, edd 15 Jan 2018. Nope, I am just consulting Mary Yang now but I've had to pop into KKH's 24 hr ob-gyn twice recently (once on a Sat evening and last night) when I had spotting and cramping.

Usually if I need to clarify, I would just call the clinic and ask the staff to relay my queries to Dr. Yang. Dependent on my query, sometimes they might ask me to come in for a scan because Dr. Yang's stand is she wouldn't know how to advise unless she sees the scan.

If you wish to see her more frequently, just sound it out to her. I m QUITE the kan cheong spider so she did say she can always make my appointments twice a month if that was what I really wanted; if not once a month would suffice for me.

Btw, did you go to NUH or TMC for your detailed fetal assessment?

Can anyone advise on NUH's procedure re. detailed fetal assessment? Many thanks :)

hey,

Thanks so much...i guess even I can also ask her for 2 appointments in a month. that ways at least I will be assured enough that all is well. Even I am a big time "kan cheong spider" :D

My edd is 3rd Jan 2018, but doc says baby is big so might arrive a little early....My detailed fetal assessment is scheduled for 29th Aug 2017 at NUH as TMC doc is on vacation during that time....It should have been done couple of weeks earlier but appointments were very tight so thats why got stretched till 29th Aug. Anyhow, Incase yours is before me you can advise me or else I shall keep you posted about the procedure once I am done with mine.

Take care

Ahhh! : ) mine's on 5/9/17. not too far from yours but I am definitely eager to hear about your experience.

Don't be shy to raise your concerns with Dr. Yang! : )

Hey, I am a new mummy too and now coughing, I do not take any medication considering my baby...did you take any remedy that worked for you? Like natural ingredients? hope to learn....thanks!!

Hi! I was also coughing from week 15 - 17 and it affected my sleep so I decided to seek medical treatment from Raffles Medical. I tried the warm water, honey and lemon method but it didn't really worked. In the end, I succumbed and took the medication that Raffles gave me. Dextro sth sth (class C drug) and Bromxhexmine (or sth like that. Class A drug). I still have some phlegm but the cough has improved alot and I am getting sleep.

Point is, if you think that your cough is affecting your sleep, appetite, etc, perhaps you may want to consider taking medication unless you are really sure that you want to ride it out.

: )

Hi, due to not being able to feel any movements on some days, it makes me doubt whether am I feeling it in the first place. Waiting anxiously for the detailed scan date to arrive so that I can be sure everything is ok.
