have not return to this thread my apologies. yeah now i can appreciate better. at the moment of transfer because i've read so much about blastocyst and after having done so much, it was a little disturbing to not do the blastocyst. :) but i accept his explanation that to do blastocyst to choose 2 out of 3 same quality good embryos is an unnecessary risk. i may end up with only one left or even none. and the clinical pregnancies rate for blastocyst is better also because of the significantly less transfers (most of the time single).

i had to wait one and a half hours for dr tan in the procedure room, until cannot hold the pee, had to let go and drink water again. everything was slow and calm up to the point dr tan came in, then there was only a few minutes discussion before we went ahead with the transfer. in fact because i only have three good embryos, dr tan was more like informing me i should transfer two day 2 embryos; not really asking if i want to have blastocyst option. i kind of halted a bit and asked for the reason which he spent some time explaining. otherwise i think we would have finished even faster :p dr tan is always very chop chop and fast; i only met him three times, consultation, oocyte pick up and then transfer liao. everytime less than 10 min. but he is very sure of the decisions which in a way is reassuring too.

Same situation as u. I did ET with 2 D2 embryos. On ET d2 day I thought dr tan will review egg fertilized summary for my decision to do ET that day or wait for blast. However when my name was called up, I was brought directly to ET room and dr said today try d2 transfer. I asked why not wait for blast. He said d2 and blast are relatively same. Doesn't mean blast transfer will succeed

When did u done ET?

I bfn with my day 5 blasto last fet. Then my day 6 blasto cannot survive the thaw this tues and fet cancelled. Im going for 2nd fresh. Thinking maybe my embryo quality will drop after day 3 so was thinking is it better if i dont blast my embryos

Not all blast is good quality de. Dr tan will see hw it goes. I think for my case is take 6 eggs to self fertilize then another 6 eggs to inject the sperm in. So the self fertilize de cannt make it. I had my ET on the 3rd day i think

When is your next fresh? Curious to know how long is the wait now.

It depend on embryo quality able to survive in the womb. Some bfp on d 2 D3 or d5.

But u did try D3 embryo before right?

Dr thh say i can start in nov.but it will crash with dec lab closure. I thinking to do in jan

Dr Tan is right! What's most important is the cells can multiply and attached to your womb lining, be it D2 or D5 embryos.

I have a friend who has 5 blastocysts. None was successful. Her son was from a D3 embryos.
 
By the way I wanna ask does anyone know if Dr Tan is leaving KKH? When I consulted him last month, there was another female doctor sitting at the desk. He was just sitting beside the female doctor. It looked like the female doctor was under training but I didn't have a good feeling. I hope he's not leaving KKH to private any sooner.

The female doc could be a trainee doc to be there to practice n observe how dr tan works. Doesn't mean that he's leaving.

But she was the one sitting in front of the computer, taking down case note, while Dr Tan just sat beside her and chit chatted with us.

I know it might not mean he's leaving. Just pray hard it is not.

Need to train up new doctor also ma if not whole department of ivf only dr tan then isn't he cannt breathe. Dr tan was once a trainee doc. Under dr sf loh
 
Hi all.. i have asked dr tan a few times on this. This has been speculating since last year.. dr tan emphasized he wont be leaving for private practise..so dont worry

A few months ago, somehow Dr Tan and I got started on the topic of doctors going into private practice, but got quickly interrupted by the ultrasound image. He said that there are reasons/considerations why he and some colleagues don’t go into private practice. Unfortunately we didn’t get to continue the conversation. I suspected he said that to distract me cos I was going to have a vaginal ultrasound. From what he said, doesn’t sound like he has plans at the moment.

If a dr is leaving to private sector they dun need another dr to seat with them in a clinic consultation room. If they were to go and need to hand over cases they do it in private among themselves. That lady dr with him in a room probably another senior wanting to grasp some knowledge on ivf cases or maybe her career path is towards ivf speciality

if it's Dr Michelle, she's a trainee. I met her too. I agree with Hajar on the protocol if the drs leave KKH.
he said he will handle my next fresh cycle personally. as good as promised he will be around until then? LOL.
my next cycle is planned for March.

Dr Tan HH from specialist until now is prof. 2yrs ago, he even went to ktph to help guide & set up their gynae dept. until he so busy. Too much paper work. He stopped the additional duties like 1yrs. Now that he is prof he need to trained new blood for this industry. Pass his knowledge to the younger dr. My cousin's husband also followed Tan HH when he studying doc.
 
Hi ladies, I just had my hsg last thur due to my late ovulation, but I have appointment on coming thu with Dr tan to discuss if I should st away go for ivf based on all the test results. My concern is will the hsg result out already by Thursday wen I see him? Or I should postpone my app. I check the schedule, the next available slot is 28 Jan. ..which means I need to wait very long. ..=(

no worries, your HSG test is ready, actually you could ask about your tubes right after the test.

I chose THH because I saw that he's a patient and friendly man after much research from the internet and his hit-rate is quite high too : )

Heard that Sadhana is not bad, just that she's very direct and no nonsense

Sadhana dun do delivery if u are preg while dr tan he does so majority stick with him throughout

Also mention to the Doc what exactly you want, I mean try IUI and after IVF or straight to IVF. Otherwise they will send you for first 3 round of IUI.
