IVF with KKH (Dr Matthew Lau)


I'm done with my Et. Soooo hungry. Now at pek kio market eating. Have 2 blastocyst, 4 still under observation.
Cheerywalnuts, so far how are u feeling after your et?

Feeling ok so far just tt easily tired & abit bloated at times. Slept quite a bit haha. Only stress is the inserts. Cos must rem to do :">
 
the inserts indeed abit mafan... since 3 times a day...

sometimes if weekends im going out, i insert twice only... but each time i put 3...
 
Hi, I am new here, I just want to know if its ok to take TCM during pregnancy, Gynae said not to take and TCM doc said take....I am confused, can someone help. Thank you.

I guess western doc dont really believes in tcm. I'm not seeing any tcm thou.

i have a colleague who took tcm for the 1st 3 months...

Ya. I koe can do that cos on the day i supposed to do ET but dr asked me to go back for d5 blastocyst, they asked me to start the insert first. And cos it was nearly noon? So nurse ask me insert 3 twice on that day.

Some insert twice a day and ate 2 orally in this forum.

Hi cheerywalnuts, I'm feeling fine. Only the fatigue and bloatedness. Appetite getting better. Output still not as good. More mobile now as compared to after ER. Can't feel beanie yet. :rolleyes:
Went supermarket ytd. Stock up many snacks. Durian prune biscuits marmite milo oat loh mai kai. .. :p
My bt is on the 15th April. when's yours?

That's good! The prunes will help. Haha still early to feel the beanie maybe will feel abit cramp in a few days time during implantation ;)

Mine is next Friday :)
 
Those delivered under Dr Lau, can share your experience?

How often did you get to see him from trimester 1 till due? And how's the package and cost like?
 
Meiling he has no package. I saw him 3 weekly durin my first trimester due to past unstable pregnancy. Now im in my second tri, im seein him every 4 weeks. But if u have any concern u can speak to him to see u more often. Hes so fatherly sure can understand our concern.

Thanks! How much does it cost to see him each time? I was originally seeing him as a subdisded patient referred from polyclinic. Will it be private rate now?

6 days more to go to my 1st scan... looking forward~
oh ya, did you had v scan on your 1st scan? Read that some sisters here got v scan and have red spotting since then...
 
meilingg as i know if u r a subsided pt at the beginning, then u will be under sub pt after ur ivf programme...
 
Should be bah since im seeing him at clinic D. I heard about the private suite... actually what is the difference? is it better?

Hi Hlixian, are you seeing any gynae?
For me, I'm with kkh all the while so when we decided to go for ivf, it was transferred to kkivf Centre naturally.

Hi Hlixian , if start ivf u need to go back for frequent scan. So chose the near which is convenient to u. As to polyclinic or walk in, it depends on u. If u go thru polyclinic u cant chose the dr. If walk in, u can tell them that u wan to make appt under this particular dr

Hi meilingg, I had been seeing dr lau as private pt before I went for ivf. His consultation is abt 70-80. The benefits of being a sub pt is I think scans and meds are cheaper.
Any diff between private suit and clinic d? To me no diff. But I think his sub clinic is on every tues. Whereas private he has more days for u to chose.
 
I was seeing Dr Paul Tseng @ TMC. Just did Lap 3 weeks ago. I don't find him informative enough. Both my tubes were blocked and all he said was "not worth the effort to clear. You will have to go thru IVF". I was too tired after the lap to ask further questions. Have yet to go back to him for review.

So.. if I really have to go for IVF, not going to go back to him.

If walk in and request for specific doc, considered private? Do I still get govt subsidy?

Hi Hixian, it depends whether u want to be under gov subsidy before transferred to ivf center. The differences between private & subsidy are 1. Choice of dr & 2. Charges.

Under private, u get to decide the dr u preferred. Charges are all in private rates be it consultation(depending on the rank of the dr), scan & meds.

Under subsidy by referral from polyclinic, the dr will be assigned to u. Charges for 1st & repeated consultation are $32 & $30 respectively. Scan will be 50% subsidized & meds will heavily subsidized. You will go to clinic for diagnosis first before the dr refer u to ivf center.

Once at ivf center, all patients are considered private rates. U will only see ur dr during Egg retrieval & Embryo transfer. Once pregnant, ur dr will ask u if u want to convert to private suite or remain as sub pt.
 
Thanks for your reply. Sumiko83 n meiling. Yes i do agree being positive is important. However my gynae said that we only have 50 5o per cent successful. This make us have to tink of many factors. Frankly speaking i tink all odds are against us. My age, bmi n im a smoker. N most importantly is finance.
 
Will ivf programme affect our working lifestyle as in need to take many leaves to go for test n surgeries involve?

Have u consider quit smoking? It do helps alot!
