Agree! I ate potato chips during my 2ww and even now too. The only thing I stopped was coffee. But of course potato chips are definitely not healthy for my little growing baby. Will have to moderate my intake.

I still ate Xmas cake with alcohol during my 2ww cuz I thought don't have..oops pl don't be like me haha.

Just curious wat if hub is nt available to produce the sperms. Eg overseas? Postpone few days or?

He can produce days before and pre-freeze his sperms. Sperms storage is for 1 yr. After that,need to renew if u intend to store for 1 more yr. But some doctors prefer e use of fresh sperm(that is soerms producex on actual retrieval day). Maybi speak to your doctor abt it if you are worried,see wat he says.

Mine in July but thanks in advance tho....Not going to be too concern or too careful bcoz the last time round of fresh had a very careful mmt on evry detail dat eventualy it failed..

I've started taking red bean soup too, every chance I get, something I picked up from this forum... It's good for lining right? That's just what I need, I assume, from my weird period pattern...
 
During my first frest IVF cycle, i ate anything curry, chicken, fried stuff, ice-cream, (Not cold drinks though), it was last Christmas hence the eating spree. I got 8 follicles and 3 fertilised but for my second IVF fresh i was very careful, ate all healthy diet stuff, strictly followed on egg whites, red bean soups, fresh vegetables no oily stuff and also deprived myself of ice-cream and guess wat?!!!! I only had 5 follicles and none fertilised. Sigh. I discussed it with NUH nurses and found that we need not be too careful, eat anything tat satisfy me and eat moderately everything i want to. No need to constraint to IVF diet. Also I had ensure milk, egg white and chicken essence almost every altnate days to eggs retrieval.. I put on so much weight. Only to find out by the NUH nurses that Ensure milk puts on weight.!!!!! Nurses were saying that if we eat egg white good enough we dont need to take ensure milk AT ALL. Sigh wish they cld have told me this earlier.

So ladies, during the 2ww be more careful and eat more egg white and healthy food. Prior to IVF eat wat you want and do not deprive yrself.

The yolks have very good nutrients that the whites may not have de. I also ate up to 3-4 eggs a day, any extra will be the whites. So sometimes it's 3-4eggs + 2 egg whites a day, just an example.

Yes agree that balanced healthy diet is ultimately key. Don't steer too extreme suddenly as it can cause imbalance and doing so during Ivf cycle is not ideal as the body suffers from burden of adjusting to any extreme diet.

I have previously shared the following sometime back during my Ivf journey while recently taken a backseat after bfp. I thought it may help to share again as many are starting new cycles soon.

I collated this list from what I gathered from the support forum and from doctor and TCM physician.
  • Eat healthy balanced diet. No extreme shifts in diet even when including foods suggested to benefit TTC.
  • Drink at least 2L of water to keep well hydrated.
  • Have ample good rest.
  • Do light exercise like walking to enhance blood flow.
  • Continue pre-natal supplements (min. 4mg folic acid or otherwise as per doctor's advice) and post transfer support meds.
  • First week post transfer ie. hatching and implantation window, take things easier. Talk to and encourage your embie to attach, implant & stick! (If have, can listen to hypno/meditation cd for post transfer)
  • Can take foods that support implantation as suggested by IVFers sisters on the forum - brazil nuts, walnuts, avocado, double-boil chicken essence (http://jewelpie.com/homemade-chicken-essence-to-relief-tiredness/)
  • Ensure adequate protein to support growth, regeneration and esp. in fresh cycle, to prevent OHSS - e.g. Egg whites, fish, chicken
  • Take fruits & leafy vegetables that are not too cold/cool - e.g. can take golden kiwi, broccoli, cai xin, etc.
  • If not heaty, can take warming foods/ drinks, otherwise cut down (e.g. take less or do not take daily) or stop - e.g. longan red date tea, durian (signs of heatiness include heavy headed feeling, swelling tongue that is more red than usual, sweating too easily, very warm palms and soles to extent of discomfort, constant thirst; don't let heatiness escalate to constipation)
  • Avoid cold and raw foods - e.g. NO papaya, banana, watermelon (any melons), sashimi, salads, ice-cream
  • Avoid pineapple which may cause uterine contractions
  • Avoid dairy foods esp. if you hv phlegm-damp constitution (see http://www.maryzhang.com/food_function.htm)*
  • No unpasteurised milk which causes risk of listeria infection
  • Avoid eating mould-ripened soft cheese, e.g. brie and camembert, and blue-veined varieties, such as stilton or Danish blue, etc as these are usually made with unpasteurised milk.
  • Limit soy foods (GMO corn crops very prevalent in soy foods; also very high in phytoestrogen so higher risk of excess)*
  • Avoid seafoods high in mercury, e.g. mackeral, shark
  • Avoid spicy stuff esp. even more so for those with poor digestion
  • Avoid caffeine - no coffee, tea, chocolate (caffeine is not good for blood flow and may restrict absorption of nutrients), if you need to, do not exceed 1 cup a day
  • Avoid alcohol - may affect kidney function and hence metabolization of meds, affects fetal growth & health.
  • NO soaking in hot baths, no sauna, no massage, no spa.
  • Avoid smokey/hazardous areas.
  • If red spotting or bleeding during 2ww, no need to panic, just call clinic & follow advice.
  • In case of constipation, can take some prune juices along with daily intake of vegetables, fruits and lots of water. If no improvement, check with clinic/ doc for advice and before taking any OTC laxatives.
  • Keep feet warm -can wear house slipper/ socks
  • Laugh a lot!
  • If in doubt, take the path of least regret.
  • Breathe, be positive and hang in there!

If you really have to think about it, focus on at least the one reason it will work and forget all the reasons why you think it will not work.

*It is ok to have a bit of milk or tofu sometimes. We don't usually eat these excessively so it will be fine. The key is overall healthy balance diet, adequate hydration and rest so that our bodies function optimally.

Yeah, I just done my endometrial biopsy and the nurse also told me just eat watever we want, too conscious over foods will end up zero result.

is this to determine when is ur best implantation period? I have read about uterus biopsy, just wondering if this is the test you have done?

The procedure, known as womb scratching, or endometrial biopsy, feels much like a pap smear or IUI , heard higher chance of getting pregnant, not sure though, doctor asked me do, am just follow his instructions.​

Yup, endo scratching will increase the chances of implantation. I am a strong believer of endo scratching.

Today is day 4 and am cramping alot and in pain. My endo and adeno r killing me. Had to get 4 jabs plus so many pain killers..rushed to a&e and it's still not completely ok. Af is a disease to endo n adeno gals and I really hope there is a cure soon. Black strap molasses helped but it actually thins lining so affects fertility I read. Have to tahan and fight all pain to hold that miracle in my arms.

Hi sistas, i m back for my frozen cycle after a failed cycle in apr. now i m in dilemma. I hv 2 D2 embryo & 1 blastocyst left. Should i culture e 2xd2 to blastocyst n transfer with e other blast? Or shld i jus transfer e 2xD2 embies? I m worried dat e next round when i thaw e last blasto, it will not survive e thaw n waste e cycle. Fyi, tis is my 3rd cycle & last. Can anyone advise me?

If I were you, I would blast & get the best 2 to transfer. Blastocyst has a higher chance of implantation. If the D2 embryos cannot survive thawing, chances of them implanting in your womb would be lower.

I will blast too. Keep e faith!i read that u bfp during 1st try. So u can give it a try. I also feel that e fittest survive put in chances will be higher. After trying a few tries,i realise ultimately its e embryo quality that is most important factor followed by womb condition

Will try for blast, if it doesn't survive til day 5 then Juz trf the only blast u have.
