This is my last cycle of fresh liao. And only transferred 1 golden embryo inside. Praying hard that this will be it.

Thanks sisters for the supportive words. You guys have been my greatest pillar of support as other than hubby none know we r on this journey. So u r my family here.

What is the impact of ovulating early in a natural fet gals.
Sister, why do u hv this qns? Timing of transfer in natural FET depends on timing of ovulation. The risk is in case lining does not reach the usual clinical standard (~8mm) when ovulation happens then doc needs to decide to proceed still or cancel as cannot postpone further as body progesterone will start to rise and implantation window will occur after ovulation. Usually the first scan on CD10-12 for natural FET is also to check follicle size & lining, apart from other signs of ovarian & uterine health, to see if there is such a risk so doc can advise accordingly.

Stay focus dear.. just concentrate in yr little fighter to fight all odds.. many hugs..

Sometimes it takes longer to detect .. stay positive till bt..

Thank you ladies. I felt really bad today as i was ask to abandon this cycle. I have lost my soul and really don't know how to continue my journey. Queby77 and Chubby1314 I started my journey around your time too in Dec 2014. I Rem reading all your post here last time. And that you guys have graduated and I am still here. Really appreciate these comforting words. Thank you

The disadvantage on nuh is I always get different doc and the opinion greatly differs. Every cycle end up crying. Got successful once yet lost it. Everyday looking forward to start a new journey, full of hope yet I fail badly. I lead a life full of obstacle but nv have I felt so bad before. I nv give up.. but unforunately strong forces want me to quit my career of 10 years and now that forces is targeting for me to give up hope on getting pregnant. i feel my strong heart and body is letting go. Really hard to carry on. After every fail cycle I cry myself to sleep for days..

And yes next is ivf. But I doubt I can afford 3 cycle. Life is so tough and cruel. Where else can I seek help ... is there going to be an end. Or is god hoping that I end this myself
I went thru the same in NUH, as mentioned it was the nurse who asked me to ask doc to go straight ivf. Been wasting time and money on protocols that were not suitable. Do you know your issues? It's yours or hub? If it's hub, the more it won't work for iui. If it's yours, your clomid will yield you how many eggs? And what were the sizes? Did you use puregon? Most importantly is you can ovulate and the eggs sizes and lining is good. So during your ivf cycle, eat foods that help implantation and must remain very zen and happy throughout. Have positive vibes and energy. Go for acupuncture to further improve your chances. Must overcome your negativity to embark on this journey. Hope that this will give you strength and motivation to go on. Fighting.

Hi Mesara, I had early ovulation during Sep natural fet & had to abandon cycle as the doc missed it! So they put me on artificial cycle following month. Tts the impact for me. Hope it helps.

Hi, does anyone know if KKH will do Ivf in feb 16 if AF comes at a certain date?
Depends if short or long cycle. I am on long cycle. Ivf starts 20days later once AF come. Also, make sure you have registered (in queue) for the feb batch. I registered mine 3 months earlier for sep batch.

@DawnBB reason why it was bothering me was cause I ovulated fri early morning and transferred on Monday a day 2 embryo. Wondering whether missed the window by too late transfer tho lining was optimal at 10mm. Thinking of trying medicated fet for next frosties.

@chanel83 was your lining above 8mm when u ovulated early thus they cancelled natural fet. Did u bfp yr last cycle and had some infection. Sorry recall one sis with similar nick mentioned. Wanted to check if on any antibiotics.

Eat high protein foods like egg whites, fish & chicken. Egg whites is the quickest to get most protein per whole food. As I was high risk for OHSS, I took up to 6 egg whites after ET then cut down when feeling better. Can drink H2O or 100plus. Drink at least 2L water. Get plenty of rest.

Even after symptoms subside, Must continue to protein rich foods as part of balanced diet to prevent onset or recurrence of OHSS symptoms later in case you bfp & body produces HCG.

All the best! Jia you!

Thanks dawnbb

Actually, one Q, if natural FET is so unpredictable and there is a high possibility that the cycle may be cancelled if you were to ovulate early, why do some ladies still go for natural? Why not go for something controlled? *scratch head*

Found this article:

There are two possible options for performing a frozen embryo transfer (FET): Natural-Cycle FET (NC-FET) and medicated FET.

Natural Cycle FET is available to women with regular ovulation and monthly menstrual cycles. In patients with predictable menstrual cycles, we can carefully monitor the cycle to determine the precise timing of ovulation. Alternatively, ovulation can be induced with the administration of an HCG injection. Once the precise date of ovulation is set, then the uterine lining should be receptive to embryo transfer 5 days later (for embryos frozen on day 5 in a previous IVF cycle). In this way, the embryos can be replaced at approximately the time when they would normally be arriving in the uterus.

One problem with Natural-Cycle FET is that the optimal time for implantation may fall at an unpredictable time during the laboratory work schedule, so some clinics choose not to offer NC-FET. In addition, NC-FET demands frequent patient monitoring around the time of ovulation. If a cycle is suboptimal in terms of the estrogen level and endometrial development, then the embryos should not be thawed and the cycle should be cancelled.

A medicated FET allows the couple to avoid some of the pitfalls associated with a NC-FET. In this type of FET, estrogen pills, shots, or patches are used to prepare the endometrium for embryoimplantation. Three days prior to embryo transfer, the woman begins taking progesterone to modify the endometrial lining so that it will be receptive when the embryos are placed. Some clinics prescribe GnRH agonists (such as Lupron) to their patients the month prior to a medicated FET cycle so as to reduce the chances of spontaneous ovulation. The use of Lupron reduces the chances of cycle cancellation owing to unexpected ovulation to near zero.

The choice of estrogen supplementation varies somewhat between clinics. Some clinics prescribe oral estrogens; other clinics administer intramuscular estrogen shots twice a week, and still other clinics use transdermal estrogen patches twice a week. The choice of estrogen protocol is clinic-specific and should be discussed with your reproductive endocrinologist. Many clinics prescribeprogesterone-in-oil injections to prepare the lining for embryo transfer. Women who have aprogesterone allergy can use progesterone suppositories instead.

Pregnancy rates have not been shown to differ significantly between NC-FET and medicated FET. However, medicated FETs do allow for advance scheduling, which both patients and physicians find attractive. The advantages of NC-FET are its simplicity with no injections (besides the HCG trigger shot) and minimal additional medications with an overall cost savings compared with a medicated FET.

Thanks for sharing. This is very good info on NC-FET vs medicated FET.
I have tried medicated FET before and didn't work. My doc said to do NC-FET for this round so I don't think there is concern with coordinating with doc/ lab schedule. Previous natural menstrual cycle has been regular for me and previous scans indicated my lining growth is normal in follicular phase. Also I always have inter menstrual spotting/ bleeding after AF after failed fresh cycle and doc agrees that my body is very sensitive to excess hormone meds. So I guess that's why he thinks I may be more suitable for NC-FET.
We will know better after trying it. Just have to trust doc and see how it goes.

Dear sis, as I understand, implantation window averages 6-12 days after ovulation. The earliest a normal embryo will start to hatch and attach is day 5 and latest start by day 7. So I think it is unlikely that they missed the implantation window if they transfer D2/3 embryo on day 3 post ovulation.
As Towkayneo shared, there are both pro and cons with NC-FET vs medicated FET. Don't worry too much.
Do BT tmr first. Anything else can discuss later with doc and seek his advice. Stay positive & jia you k.

Regular menses ok, but as you know menses are always affected by stress, diet etc, so plus you have to worry about the lining, whether it will reach optimal before you ovulate etc. So many uncontrolled variables..I tried once before, as in natural FET and it's pek cek not to see the damn smiley face or kan chiong that you see the smiley face too soon when your lining's only 5mm (for example).

What happens to you if you have excess hormone meds?

Ya ya, @mesara, I agree, just go for the BT first and see how. No point thinking back and see what's wrong with the process since you are already near the finishing line.

I recall my lining was ok but repeat scans show follicles not growing much so the dr told me I ovulated early & cancelled the cycle. Had to fork out cash payment of abt $700 Loh. Actually... I kinda no confidence with the on duty doctors tt I see after the scans... Most of the time they just read the lining & follicle measurements & when I ask more indepth questions, they were not confident in answering me, even had to consult the nurses which frankly I find it ridiculous. I hope I'm not the only one with such sentiment. This cycle I told the on duty doc I was itching there & asked for cream. I wanted to get rid of infections if any before I start my cycle. She actually said oh do you have more discharge, It's normal side effect fr the medications I'm taking. & I'm like, yes... But can u prescribe something for me in case it's a infection. Her reply was she can't prescribe for me unless she examine me & I'm like... What's stopping you? I insisted and she only examined me after the nurse said ok... Turns out I have infection down there.... & when I get to the pharmacy, best thing is I'm being told I can just get the cream off the shelf. =_=

Yes Mesara I bfp from last cycle but suspected bleeding due to infection by private gynae. Was put on antibiotic drips but didn't manage to stop the bleeding.

Excess hormone meds usually causes spotting or bleeding between AF periods for me, e.g. I started spotting or bleeding on CD14 after last AF after stopping the support meds when BFN. When checked by doc, there was no follicle growth, i.e. no ovulation in the cycle following the fresh IVF. Then that cycle will be short around 24-27 days before next AF back to normal. This has happened for both 2nd and 3rd IVF.

Last time did chart BBT plus OPK test then recently, only OPK test during my natural cycles, OPK always +ve around CD17 and luteal phase always 14-15days. But as you said NC-FET, a lot depends on your body and I won't know till doc scan. Just trying my best with healthy diet, exercise and sleep + tcm then see doc tomorrow.

Hope all goes well for you this round. Stay positive & jia you k!

Dear Sistas,

It is of sadness as I'm writing this. Have seen dr tan - unfortunately it will not be a viable pregnancy, there is no way at beta 100 to rise to 1000 ( which it should be by now). This should be concluded as a biochemical pregnancy. I will do another blood test next week to bring it to a close. He say 99% it will not be viable.

I felt better after talking to him. Just have to think it positively that yes the embbies did implant in me however they did not develop. Should they continue to grow, it will be more heartbreaking to learn that they could not carry on after the few weeks.

With this I felt even more grateful that I have my girl and continue and always cherish having her with us as I always do.

Thanks so much to all the Sistas here who constantly gave me encouragement, positivity and energy especially @towkayneo ( my Ah Neo) @DawnBB @mesara @gan1972 @littlemonkies @spinsterella. I will move on with life and stay happy of course.

I will not be trying anymore. Still, I want to wish all of you here success and I'm sure everyone here will graduate to be a mummy eventually!

It's not an easy journey! You have been very brave! Was your first girl conceive via ivf or natural?
I guess the condolence is you have your princess with you. Think positive! Life is not all about kids. Having said that, I'll still continue to fight for my first bb!
Fighting!

Since you have decided that your family now shall be complete, now focus on the days ahead and building fond memories with your family.
I will also continue to fight till the day my family is complete with a child I can carry in my arms.

Sister, I'm sad to hear this. I had hoped so much that you would be an IVF mommy in 2016 too.

I am relieved, however, that you seemed to have found closure. Never doubt that you tried your best. Your embbies, no matter for how brief a moment, would have felt your love. I believe one day you will meet them in heaven and they will call you 'mama'.

*big hugs*
