Oh I nvr heard of these 2 medications before! What is d&c? Will starting too soon on next cycle affect results?? Gosh unsure if I've the patience to wait for a few cycles... Keep me posted on your progress!

Santhiya,

It is to increase estrogen. That is why dr s di not want to prescribe for me. Cos she says i had 21 eggs retrieved and so shld have a lot of estrogen in my system.

I am going for second opinion with dr loh tmr. Will chk w him again if i need to continue.

It's better to build up ur body well before rush to next cycle. Although It's aso doesn't guarantee bfp next try but too much stimulation on our body in a short period is no good too... u wld want a healthy body for pregnancy n takes CARE of ur bb as well..

Awwww, thank you for your suggestions! I would think so too by I'm the impatient sort... Haiz... May I ask which stage r u at now?

WOnder why they keep changing protocol. When i was on natural FET, no prognov at all.. even during dr Loh days back at kkivf. That's the whole advantage of natural FET. Less medicine.
 
Me ending my first tri soon. Me aso impatient n not knowledgeable for my 1-4th cycle, blindly follow gynae n ivf centre just kp trying but nvr sit down n analyse where is the problem.. they just made us spend lots of $ n went thru roller coaster physically n mentally. My dh was so angry w them cos I jabbed my tummy until 2 permanent black bruises w scars. N progesterone oil jab at butt daily during 2ww.
In the end we switch gynae n ivf centre.
Tats y I say things cannot b rush, be patience. If It's urs It's urs no matter when n wat u do..
I had lots of support during 2ww but nvr bfp.. but after I switch to my current gynae , everything was at the simplest, just utro inserts n progynova support.
Ladies dun panic when ur support is different from others, u need to trust ur dr, Tats my feel.

Congratulations!!! I understand how u feel... Which dr are u with now? I hope I can get more valuable tips from you!

maybe becos i am having a high risk pregnancy...had one MC, one Ectopic pregnancy and two chemical pregnancy...

i totally agree with u...wen i was under Dr. sadhana, i was blindly following her instructions and doing ivf without finding out the underlying conditions..i switched to Dr HH Tan in March and he sent me for the relevant tests required and found out i had cervical polyps and adhesions in my womb..did a op in april and the following cycle did the natural FET.and now i BFPed!! should have done all the tests long ago!

I have learnt not to look back but I m glad I change to current gynae. Though he is quite straightforward , I can See my dh can communicate w him more openly n at ease which I tik It's impt.. we didn't go govt hospital bcos of the long wait n he knows my condition better.

Adhesions r fr past d&c done. Adhesions n Cervical polyps can result in pregnancy failures! Haiz... from wat u told me, u dun hv an issue getting pregnant! THe problem is to substain a pregnancy which root causes maybe due to adhesion and cerivcal polyps.

Wasted so much of ur time and money!

for myself, I prefer morning. better to see him at TFC or O&G clinic?
for my friend, she can only make afternoons, does dr loh take consultation at TFC in afternoon?

This is why i insist on doing my own research, seeking 2nd opinions and sometimes 'challenge' the doctors by asking them for their reasons in doing certain protocols and asking them about alternative protocols or treatment. I never believe that the doc is right all the time.

In this time, this age, with our education and availability of info, we should participate in the discussion and decision making of our treatment. Afterall, it is our body, our $$$, our pain and our effort in making our dream cone true. So we need to take charge and not follow blindly and let the doctors make the decision without in depth discussion with us.

To them, we are just 1 more patient that adds to the statistics if we are a success or failure. To us, it is a lot of time, effort, pain, $$ spent, shattered dreams or happy life.

Santhiya,

So are you still seeing dr tan hh now or hv u gone else where?

I am going to dr loh tmr for second opinion. Will decide within the next two weeks if i will stick with dr loh after things stabilises.

Ron,

I alwayd see him at O&G at TMC in the afternoon. I think he may hv slots tmr if u call now. I just change my timing for tmr.

dr loh only in TFC in the moni n afternoon in his own clinic O&G ;)

I gave up a slot at 3pm. See if they can give that to u. On average i wait around an hour during each visit.

Im on a fresh cycle but NUH did not prescribe Progynova to me.
Im taking Estrofem instead. It's the same kind. Just a different brand. I was on 4mg after bfp. Now at 6th weeks, my doc reduced it to 2mg.

I'll check with dr loh tmf to see if i still need to takd progynova. I am on 2 tabs daily.
 
Hi ladies, congrats to all who have BFP and for those who have not, let's jiayou together! I have failed my fresh cycle in last July and would be starting my FET in June. Dr Tan HH proposed blastocyst as I think it may be due to my age (41 this year ). Work was so stressful when I last did the cycle but I have just resigned to concentrate on FET. I have been seeing TCM since last August and have recently started accupunture. Time is not on my side, so can you please advise what food I should be taking and what I should be doing to increase the chances? Thanks in advance!

I agree with dollygal. I find this thread overloaded with info and not necessary healthy for the mind of ttc and bfp ladies. Dont mind me saying that although we are talking about medical intervention here, it's ultimately still "what's planned to be yours, will be yours" to some extend. I see so many of the ladies here so tensed up! It's good to do due diligence in finding out what doctors don't tell us. But i feel our heart and mind must be at peace when it comes to ttc. Natural or not.

And congrats to the many bfps I read. The journey has been challenging indeed I'm sure. Everyone has our own story. Have a safe and happy bfpssss.

Hope42014, have more faith n dun tik abt bfn before u start the cycle. Relax n stress free to b good for urself mentally n physically. Hands off Google n forum once u in 2ww if not u read too much n too tense n paranoid over every symptoms or no symptoms..
 
Estrogen and progesterone are required for a successful pregnancy.

Estrogen is produced during ovulation and continues if pregnant. Then progesterone is produced too when pregnant. So estrogen is not really required for ivf patients unless is medicated FET where there's no ovulation. Even a fresh cycle, we ovulate. Our pregnancy is minic to be like pregnancy conceived naturally, so, the minimum is progesterone support in case the brain didn't know we are pregnancy under ART and hence the body does not produce enough progesterone to support the pregnancy.

Prognova = estrogen
Dupuston, those inserts via vagina or backside = progesterone

In all my ARTs under dr loh during kkh days, i have only taken progesterone when i m pregnant. And when spotting occurs, it usually mean progesterone not enough hence the painful oil jabs on tge butt or increased doses of dupuston
