normally your doc should go thru the whole process with you before you sign your consent. You need to give your nurses a call to check on the details. I'm not sure abt gleneagles, but sounds like you are also doing the long protocol. For kkh, lucrin jabs start on CD21, then scan and blood test 2wks later. Then they will notify you whether you need to continue on lucrin for a while more or if can start puregon jabs. After one week of puregon, they will scan your follicles and let you know if need to continue puregon for few more days. Else can proceed to ER. So the whole thing may be extended at diff stages, and this is case by case.

If you are travelling during ur jabs, u may need to get a letter from them to explain to customs abt the injections you are carrying. Oh, and both lucrin and puregon need to be refridgerated.

I dare not walk around too much. These few days, not much discomfort at all , except stomach being rumbling , dun know if it is hungry or pain or something is coming. I think i swell on it too much. keep thinking if it is there . And i keep going toliet to peep and if i see any colour beside clear and cloudy, i will go and lie down for hours and not moving.

And i am only allowed to walk around the house , I missed walking in the park !

I am at NUH, and the prcoess is similiar to Petal mention, which i start my lurcin at CD21 too maybe varies in the duration at each stages. Think you need to check with the doc or nurses there. As i have someone who explain each stages and what to expect. At least i have an idea that time.

Petal & Nano had to go to the hospital for daily jabs because they had a lot of eggs retrieved. For me, the jabs were a little stinging but tolerable.
After my ET, I had a little brownish discharge for a couple of days. Then the discharge turned yellow. Until today, I still have the yellow discharge. The nurse said there's nothing to worry unless there's a smell or it itches down there.

Nano and I had daily progesterone jabs, which is a diff alternative from ur pregnyl jabs. I think you can walk around the house or go for a short walk, it'll help circulation, rather than just lying down and not moving.

I'm like Nano, can't seem to take plain water. Even threw up a few times after drinking plain water. Also still can't take milk. So, my breakfast is very plain. Hot chrysanthemum tea with bread. What to do... I also drink lots of fruit juice, especially carrot juice, to keep myself hydrated.

My waist has also increased, but not my weight.

My family already knows about my pregnancy because they knew from the start that I was going through IVF. My friends.....they can wait.

I'm beginning to drink and eat everything. As my work requires me to travel all round, i dun seem to have much choice. Juz drink whatever is available. Carrot is gd cos got vit A but I read that we shd avoid taking too much carrot at early stage of pregnancy so better take in moderation.

I met up with Dr SF Loh with hubby today n he has given me contraceptives to kick start the program. He put me on the long protocol.Can i ask u ladies if u've taken the long or short protocol?

Thanks for the word of caution. Actually, I alternate my drinks. Carrot, apple, orange... anything that is a little sourish so that can help to keep my food down.

Actually i'm very new to all these....i've read up a little. i think short protocol jus start with stimulation jabs to make u ovulate then the rest is the same.
long protocol is wat i'm doing..starting with contraceptives first than lucrin jabs....
Have yet to read up. except dr loh said it's best i do the long one n it has better success rate.....on hearing better success rate, i jus do it, no ques ask

For those tt has done ivf n is preggie now...did u guys do the long protocol as well?
Also any accupuncturist to rec besides raffles hospital?

Thanks! You're right. In long protocol, there is the additional suppression stage using lucrin for abt 2-3wks at the beginning. For me, I wasn't given contraceptives before my lucrin stage. As for acu, I did it at AMK. Oh, u can check out the kkh ivf website which briefly explains the procedure and success rates for last yr.

Do u gals feel very warm? Sometimes I get hot flushes at diff times and start perspiring. And my temp goes up to 37degr, even in aircon room. And I have stuffy nose too for the past wk...can't really smell.

Your BBT is increased when you're pregnant. That's why your temperature is high. My temperature can be as high as 37.6C.

Feeling the heat? This is just the beginning. I feel it too. Some mommies told me it'll get worse in later pregnancy. You'd even want to sleep naked at night, in an air-con room!!!

hi everyone! So encouraging to read all the success stories! Want to check if anyone conceived via FET? I've had 2 fresh cycles (1st one negative, 2nd one resulted in embryo not growing well). I only have 2 frozen embies left. My expectations r not high since I've been told they may not thaw out nicely but at the same time, I don't want to dispose of them. I'd like to give them & me a shot probably in Nov. Just wanted to see if anyone's had success via FET. Thx!

Recently, I also feel warmer than usual esp last nite. I am one of those that feel cold easily but now I always need the fan on at full blast..haven't resort to turning on my aircon though.

Thks! I was also on long proto but wasn't put on contraceptive. Intially prefer short proto but after hearing that long proto has higher success rate i decided to try it.

I haven't try FET before but have read that some IVF-MTB succeeded thru FET so there is always hope. All the best!

thanks for replying. i dun know why dr put me on contraceptives but i jus follow lor. last nt i went into a panic attack...suddenly feel very frightened tt i'm doing this IVF thing... i've actually taken a year off my hectic work to try to get preg. it's been rather disappointing. a few rounds of clomid, ovulated 2x on it only,1 failed IUI, 1 failed SO-IUI in july. Seeing all my friends jus pop n my PIL asking y even without working still no gd news. Friends asking every other wk...how, preg? during this 1 yr break 2 of my friends has already preg n given birth 2x!!!! Since i have no advise from pp around me about PCOS n Infertility n hubby's low morphology etc i kept searching frantically for ans on the web......MR google became my best friend.......I dun know how many times i've cried, the sleepless nights searching on the web and scaring myself, how many times i've wanted to leave the country from pressure to get preg......Not to mention the no. of times i quarreled with hubby n asked for a divorce.....Those times i dun know if it's me talking or the HORMONES!!

now i'm being offered a job to start work while on IVF program n i dun know if i shld take it up...wat if i turn down the offer n i fail this IVF cycle, won't i be wasting my chances to go back to the workforce. Then again, starting a new job has it's pressure, wat if by starting this job, i'm so stressed tt i jeopardize my IVF cycle? then won't my efforts be wasted.....

Don't put too much pressure on urself now. I've also gone through clomid twice i think, but didn't respond both times. Also failed at IUI. Then decided on IVF, where the chances are higher. We knew that there's no guarantee but at least we felt that we are being proactive and doing all we can. The rest, just have to leave it up to fate. As for work, you have to decide for urself, cos all our cases are diff. Some mums work well through ivf and pregnancy until they deliver, while others prefer to stay at home. You'll prob have to discuss with ur hubby. I understand that ivf is stressful, but both of u will need each other's full support. That's most impt. I was very lucky to have hubby's support, even though he can't go thru the jabs for me, but he shows appreciation and tries to help search for more info when we have questions.

Whatever it is, we're here for u. You can vent on this thread.

ya, think i need to relax. My hubby is supportive, Only thing is i've been doing all these fertility research and i'm the one asking all the ques at the dr's using gargons he has never heard of

so in a way i felt most of the burden....mayb i shld communicate with him so at least i won't feel tt i'm alone in this....Although he did offer to let me jab his tummy with blanks each time i take a jab so he can feel wat i'm going thru! haha...silly him!

Well i've started the contraceptives to get preggie.....irony right.

i've managed a BFP when i had my FET last May.. but unfortunately.. I had a miscarrange shortly after..

But I knew of many sisters here who managed to concieve thru FET. So.. the chance is there..

I also tot of doing my FET in Nov. I have 3 frozen embryos left. Hope we can succeed together

Have u tried TCM and Acu?

Yah, it will help to communicate so that u r sharing the whole experience with him. Also if ur hubby also understands the terms so that sometimes he can also ask questions that u may not have thought of. I find that sometimes I have a lot of questions, but when i actually see the doc, I forget what I want to ask. So either I write down or hubby help to remember. Like what hopes said, maybe u can think abt acupuncture or tcm. A few of us tried acu.

Story to inspire you IVFers...

I am in my 11 weeks now. I had 2 blastocyst transferred in and was expecting twins.

Went for my fortnightly check-up yesterday; lo and behold there were 3 babies seen! We saw 2 babies 2 weeks ago and their tiny heartbeats, and yesterday there were 3 babies swimming. All I could say yesterday was "oh dear!".1 is swimming happily in it's own placenta, the other 2 are sharing a placenta (yup I have a monozygotic!) Am slowly getting used to the idea of having triplets now.

So all you ladies trying; do not be miserable. I had 2 IUIs done, 1 SO-IUI, and 1st IVF done in July. I only had 12 follicles, retrieved only 7 eggs, 5 were ICSI-ed, only 3 viable. Transferred in 2 blastocyst and 1 kept frozen.- Successful on 1st IVF.

Be strong, be positive, and have faith. )))

Hi all, I have also gone thru 1 IUI(failed), and 1 IVF-ICSI this April, retrived 8 eggs, only 5 fertilised, transferred 3 blastocysts, 2 kept frozen. Striked with twins boys (fratenal) but unfortunately my 2 water bags burst during my wk19+ and had a stillborn twins in Aug

(until now we do not know the reason of this to happen)

However, I will try FET next year after getting my body to recover...

Just to share my IVF story during this Mar/Apr...

I managed to jab (Lucrin) myself every morning b4 going to work. After that I dare not jab for Puregon due to pain, and I went to SGH for Puregon jab every morning after my Lucrin jab at home, then rush all the way to my office at Eunos... when I reach office was already 10am++++

But my boss and collegues all very understanding, even after I pregnant, I went to work by 10am (my office starts work at 9am). I was like a Queen most of the times...even now I am still on hospital leaves for 2 months ++++, my boss allow me to start work when I feel ok...

So I considered very lucky on the IVF journey... and I hope the same for my FET next year...

Just did my scan yesterday, Dr Loh did a V scan for me and i could see the slight movement of the heartbeat. so tiny and amazing.

I still have very bad all day morning sickness , but can't vomit. very tired and sleepy.

How are you feeling Nano, Rammy, Petals? Anyone has any remedy that can help ease this unpleasant nausea feeling?

I brought forward my doc's appt to yesterday afternoon. So happy to see the tiny little thing with its own little heartbeat.

I think I saw you walking towards the TPS with your hubby yesterday afternoon. I am also having very bad morning sickness, at any time of the day. Just like you, feel very nauseous, but can't vomit. What I usually do is whenever I feel nauseous, I'll drink hot chrysanthemum tea, or anything sweet. If that doesn't help, then I'll drink anything sourish, like orange juice or lemonade.
I also tire very easily. Always want to lie down. I also have heartburn & gastric at times.
I feel miserable sometimes, but I always psycho myself, this is only a test. I will endure it. It will go away...

Finally it is 6th days. i am getting bored of lying around. And i have been walking around which is much better. The prengyl is not as bad, i left one last shot tomolo. And it is not as bad i think it is just a matter of where i inject.

Phew luckily i asked about the discharge, now i am less apphrensive about the changes i am facing now. I did face a little itchy but it is at the skin part.

can you all take sour plum when feeling nauseous?
At which stage then the doc will allow you to take a photo of the little one home.

Yup, I'm carrying a singleton. Doc prescribed Vit B when I informed her of my yellow discharge. She said it could be a fungal infection, shd be alright but just to be safe.

I still can't really take plain water so so to add ribena or honey. 2mr, I'm going to buy some lemons to add into plain water, see whether can take it or not.

Is yr discharge sticky type? I also got abit yellow discharge but not sticky so i din ask doc abt it, dunno ok or not. When is yr next doc appt?

My hubby also have poor morphology and I also went thru clomids, IUIs but din even get preg once. It can be very frustrating along the way but I believe you will pull through. Before i start my ivf i also worried alot, but thank God after i start the programme, I find the process is not as bad as i expected.

They considered us as new case although i went TPS to c doc before ivf so consultation charge more expensive today. next visit just $60 for consultation. They will give the printout. Shd be singleton only see one tiny little one.
