Actually the jab is not as scary as I thought. V scan was the scariest part so far. How did u ladies overcome it? During the scan, 1 sec is like 1 yr.
 
On day 17 of lucrin, I went for my bloodtest and v scan. And was told to start puregon 200 daily from day 20( today) to day 26. Day 27 have to go back Kk for scan. Is that the normal proceedure for 1st time ivf?
 
Positivecalm: u can store the pen n medication in the fridge. Normally after insert the new cartridge, there is balance left in the cartridge. don't throw keep the balance. Cos at the last round u may be just that bit more. The nurse will ask u bring all the balance back n they combined together n jab for u. Jia you.

I've received the call and only 2 eggs have been successfully fertilised.. They are keeping with the day 4 transfer as they feel it's too early to transfer tmr.. Will stay positive and pray that the embryos can hold out that long

Positivecalm - I usually try to concentrate on what the nurse says during the scan, she will usually be shouting out follie sizes for another nurse to record down.. That will catch ur attention and u'll probably forget abt the uncomfortable down there.. I also lazy one, whole plastic bag goes into the ref with the pen, needles and med...
 
Positivecalm > Im on my 4th day of lucrin today. This is my 1st long cycle cos the last round was short one. I only remember gynae said i must jab lucrin for at least 10 days. So unlike the short cycle where we will start stimulation on D2. But i dun really know when I will start stimulation this time as clinic asked me to call when my next AF arrives. If D20 then start to stimulate, wah, then long cycle is really very long lor. Other sisters can share your experience pls.

On the v scans, try to breath out when gynae insert the scan into u. Then breath normally thereafter. Cos sometimes when we are tensed up, we tend to hold our breath and the opening there will also close de lor.

Min > We only need ONE to strike. Who knows, maybe you will evenually be pregnant with twins lei?

Purple > I strongly encourage you to try TCM. I like somehow it will make our body condition better. See what your TCM say about your condition also. Tiao for a period of time b4 trying again. Will sure yield better results de.
 
Positivecalm: usually we use cycle day as the "measure yard". Meaning, std is start Lucrin on D21 of your cycle then you will have your period, then start stimulation a few days into your period. It's also possible then with you on Lucrin, they can start stimulation anytime depending on hospital schedule. As long as stimulation is not started, you can remain suppressed. Hope this helps you.
 
Yes lakigal. All of us will start lurcin on D21 of our current menses. What i read from positivecalm is that she was asked to start her puregon, which is stimulation on D20 of her next cycle???
 
I am on long protocol. I start lucrin on the Day 21 after my menses.
On the first Day of lucrin ( I consider D1), on D17 i went down to Kk for bloodtest and scan. And was told to start puregon on D20. Kk did not advise me to call them for the menses after I start my lucrin.
 
positivecalm, KKH asked you to go down on D17 of your lucrin to do blood test & scan itiz? Was your AF delayed while u were on lucrin? When did your AF arrive while u were on lucrin? Some said lucrin will delay AF, dun know how true.

Has anyone here undergone hysteroscopy assessment for cavity procedure after failed IVF?

A doctor has suggested that I go for this test since he can't find anything wrong with me so far.

Would appreciate if you could share your experience with me.

Sunstillshines: Puregon and Gonal F are essentially the same but one is beta and latter is alpha. Structurally slight different.
 
positivecalm, i thot stim shld start on D2/3 of yr mense? if start D20 of lucrin means yr D10 of mense cycle?

sisters who did long cycle before can comment?
 
i knw someone who tried both gonal f and puregon, and her response is the same... but it doesnt mean the same for someone else lor.....dpns on indi
 
Lin: I was on long before and started lucrin on D23 n then D5 for stim drugs. So start stim on day13 of Lucrin.
 
lin: ya. I start stim on my day10 of my menses cycle. Did Kk ask u to inform them the menses after u start lucrin? Is my long protocol very different from u all ? Wats ur daily puregon dosage? And how long were u told to stim?sorry for so many question
 
Positivecalm, my interpretation is KKH determines whether we are ready for stimulation by our estradiol level. This is the blood test done on the same day as the V scan.

Brchow provided a very useful link a few pages back which helped me to understand the suppression stage better.

I failed the estradiol test and have to continue lucrin for one more week before another same set of test.

dreambear, Lucrin did not delay my menses in fact it came a few days early but there was a fairly big piece of clot.

I also just realised that we are to continue lucrin into our stimulation stage until the pregnyl jab.
 
Had acupuncture done by Dr Zou earlier.. Very nice lady.. Told me to call her after scan tmr to let her know how's the growth like.. She gives me a very motherly feel.. Hehe.. Feel very comfortable around her.. =)
 
Chris, wat does it meant by beta & alpha Hah?

tingaling, I also just got to know that we got to continue withlucrin during stimulation, ie at least 2 jabs per day. I wanted to take leave from stimulation period, hence think I can only play by ear le.

Lin, I'm also pondering shd I change to puregon instead although my gynae did say no difference but different people will react different. Will only know if we try.
 
Min81, don't worry, your fertilised eggs will grow big and strong and wait for you on Monday. They are now out of your hands so just relax and be in a happy frame of mind so that your nice, comfy and warm womb will be all ready to receive the eggs next week

Dragonhopes, I tried both puregon & gonal-F. Same number of oocytes, fertilization rate, growth rate, etc. But doctor did say for some ladies one works & one doesn't.

Prosepina: I tried both. Have almost same nos of eggs. But puregon has better effect on me. Pregnant under puregon for both long n short cycles.

"the protein drugs follitropin alfa (gonal F) and follitropin beta (puregon), have slightly different amino acid sequences, contain FDA-approved label statements indicating that the two products are “indistinguishable.”

The fact that in the IVF studies, the odds favor follitropin alpha and not beta appears to be mainly due to the fact that, compared to the follitropin beta studies, the control patients perform significantly worse in the follitropin alpha studies (difference: –5.5%; 95% confidence interval: –10.7 to –0.3%; two-tailed P = 0.037). This should have been recognized by the authors.

The embryologist just called.. 1 embryo is of satisfactory quality at 3 cells.. The other is of below average and remains the same as yesterday.. They will monitor closely and if that doesn't make it, will transfer hopefully at least 1 embryo on monday..
 
Hi gals,

Just finished at KKH.. My leading follie which was at 10mm last scan, now only 10.5mm the rest more or less remained the same.. Got a few new ones but all small, around 6mm.. Dr increased my dosage from 133.3 to 250 for next 3 days. Next scan on Tuesday.. Lining from 5.5mm triple also up 0.5mm only to 6mm triple.. Quite disappointed with the progress.. =(
 
Abple: IVF is a v personalized treatment. What works for one may not work for another since there are many factors involved. What is good is at end of it, you might find something that will work consistently for you.

Min: I hope together with you too!

Babysteps: The increase in dose will help and there is still at least another week before retrieval. Your lining will be growing on par also so keep your head up ok buddy! JY!
 
Chris, Thanks for e research. I've kind of decided to change to puregon since gonal f didn't make me bfp. Will hope for better results with a long protocol & with e help from Dr Zou.

Positive , Chris - Thanks! I feel better now le.. Cos was expecting at least some growth but end up dont have so was shocked.. The review doc only say we will know next tues hows the progress when i asked him is this considered not ideal.. But the nurse when teaching me how to split my dosage per day was very comforting.. She say cos i was on low dosage for 5 days so the growth is ok.. Now the doubled it, next scan will have all grown le, no need worry..

I also called dr zou, she asked me to go for accu tmr instead of monday.. She also told me not to worry too much..

Got so many ppl comforting me, including u girls, i must jiayou la.. Enjoy my weekend and relax.. Hubby is back from trip today too! =)

For me personnel , I don't like the feeling to have too much medicated stuff inside me becos I really don't kwn what wl happen dwn the road. Then dr Loh also reluctant to use it . I went to see another dr, she also tell me whether to use the growth hormone it may or may not help me. So I a bit skeptical in this matter.
 
Juz went to see dr this morning n he conf that the egg quality is not compromised by the extraction quantity.. Each egg is different... Is a pity that SG does not approve the genetics check before ET...

So supposed to go for medicated FET.. So will wait for a few mths... Still quite keen to go for blastocyst and assisted hatching ...

Has any sis tried assisted hatching before?

There is no one for all successful formula and it depends on other variables too. I was relating my experience with the 2 different stimm medicine.
 
Babystep- take more high protein food since now up yr dosage of med.
Accupuncture & zz early also help to increase the follicles sizes
Min- all the best for yr ET on mon
I likely mon or tues ET, only will confirm tmr

I may go ahead with Growth Hormone injection in my next IVF in May or June 2013. According to my TCM and some IVF doctors, this is a very common injection used by many IVF doctors now (not only in SIN).

I may also do the hysteroscopy assessment for cavity procedure to check if anything is wrong inside before my next IVF cycle.

Will update all of you who are interested if I get any outcome/results.
