Ladies, do you all know where to get a double boiler? I am thinking of making my own chicken essence. Can anyone PM me a pic of how it looks like? Thank you so much.
Is chicken essence to be taken during 2ww or can it be taken anytime?
 
Bee, yes I on max dosage. My menses also become very short after my last failed cycle. I really hope to have more fertilized embroys at least still have my last chance if I fail this round (touch wood)...keeping my hope up!
 
sunniehope, use slowcooker will do! not necessarily to buy the double boiler..i find it difficult to use as i am so afraid the water will be dried up..

I think you are gasy probably becos of TSB medicine... I often feel gasy after taking her medicine
 
sunstillshines, you can buy double boiler from those herbal store. I had one electronic double boiler and i find it very good to use. I can put in the chicken at night and set to 6 hrs of double boiling and then in the morning i can drink the chicken essence. No need to worry about the fire.

Sunstillshines > I find it easier to cut chicken using a good pair of scissors. Cut it into half first, then cut the thigh, drumstick, wings, then the rest into smaller pieces. Rinse it with running water to clear away the blood. I'm using induction stove, so I just bring water to boil then set it low to simmer with a timer.

Bee > Thanks for sharing. I'm so kan cheong and worried... cycle has not even start. I heard the needles are painful... and i'm so scared of it, don't know how am I going to pull through it.
 
sunstillshines, normally i will buy the whole kampung chicken from market. I will ask the uncle to remove the skin and chop into smaller pieces, at times he will help to chop the bones. I will tell him that i am making chicken essence. I wont put the head and wings.
If not, my hubby will do it for me. Ask your hubby to help you.

Its good to invest in a double boiler, cos once you bfp, you will still need to boil birdnests, dong cong cao and etc...
I don't have to worry about watching the stove fire and can drink it in the morning. Cos for me, i felt that its better to drink on an empty stomach so that it can absorb better. But some ppl might find that it's too oily.

This homemade chicken essence is definitely better than bottled type and read that one bowl is equal to 8 bottles. It can improve one's energy level.

Sade: the double boiler is those with a inner layer and allow the essence to drip to the outer layer? Am I correct? Sorry not sure how it looks like.
 
Hi All, please note that chicken wings and legs have high anti-biotic deposition. The antibiotic jab will be jabbed underneath the wings or neck. Do not eat them too often because may have high chance of womb cancer.

Babysmurf, congratulations on your transfer. Awaiting for your babydust. Did you get Dr HH Tan to do the transfer for you or you switch to other doctors?
 
sunniehope, what i did just what website shown. put an inverted rice bowl, then cut chicken to small pieces, then cook for 3-4hours. not sure got any different effectiveness comparing double boil and slow-cooker

Yup i agree with sade.. Easier with electric double boiler cos automatic, no need to watch it.. I find using a whole chicken more troublesome though, especially when i was wking.. My tcm actually told me to just use chicken breast, removing all skin and fats.. According to him, the essence from that 1 piece is equivalent to 6 bottles of brand's.. He said can throw away the meat after that but i tot very wasteful, so i share share with my doggy.. Hehe..
 
Sunniehope, difficult to explain how it looks like. Let me snap a pic and PM u later tonight. My double boiler come in 2 sizes and I bought it many years back. It's a good investment that cost me abt $150. Act there is a base for the chicken to drip in it, but it's v difficult to wash it, so I used the bowl as shown in that link provided by joyhope.

Joynfaith, heard that too but not sure how true. So I don't really eat too much chicken wings.

Actually can use black chicken to make too.

Min81, heard that actually its better to use whole chicken with bones, cos there is calcium from the chicken bones, hence its better to chop it into v small pieces so that can crack the bones and let the bones juice to flow out.

Joy hope, I bought it from hock hua. I just put 4pieces under and inside the bowl.
 
Prosepina, think no difference. Just that the method is different. It's better to crack the bones, but I don't always do that. Haha. Guess the effectiveness lie on the cracking of the chicken bones.

Read in another past thread that Angela from CARE recommend one of the ladies to drink pure homemade black chicken essence during her triplet pregnancies. Acc to Angela, it's more bu than kampung chicken.

Ya knew there must be a good reason why the smashed chicken bones are usually used but a bit too much wk, so will keep to chicken breast.. I drink anlene and ensure daily on alternate days, hope the calcium's enough

Sade, how did you nego price of the chicken with the hawker at the market? My neighbour told me that people like us better don't go to market to buy because the hawker will quote high price to us.
 
Sunstillshines I din nego. It's about $8 for a kampong chicken n $5 for black chicken. Buy at a regular store. Anyway they don't charge for chopping so I find the price reasonable.

Sunniehope, i also thou kampong chicken no injections, but read online that it's not true. Just that kampong chicken is not so oily as normal chicken.

Sunniehope > For pets, cannot add anything. I cook soup often and will usually scoop up some meat for my dog before adding in any salt for taste.
 
ya adoption and doner are last resort. i know in bkk, they allow u to choose the gender of the embryo. but malaysia nv mention abt gender selection..

Hi all, after failed a number of IVF at implantation stage. I asked for advance blood test and found out that the following 3 ratios are above norm, i.e. anti-thyroglobulin, anti-tpo A6 and ESR. Doctor only be back from holiday in Oct. anyone has any idea what would be the implication ?

very worried.

Yup don't add anything.. Their tastebuds are stronger than humans anyway, so the meat itself is already very tasty.. My doggy loves it when i just give plain boiled meat

From what i understand from my doc, the PGD can only be done if there is a chance that either husband and wife might pass on the genes of a life-threatening condition..

Lin > Not sure why cannot drink tcm, never ask since I trust the tcm dr. There's no reason why the tcm dr don't want to earn more. I'm starting my cycle next month, now on suppression stage. Can I check how's the trial cannulation like?

i ever used black chicken! gave me no essence at all..haha..too tiny.. my mum ask me to use "old hen". sigh! according to her, many drank 3 "old hen" for a month then for couple of months then conceived naturally..but not me lo! i drank last 2 cycles and make my cycle to 34days..not sure is because of that or not..

i did smack the bone, but not too much la! i cover by a piece of clean cloth then using knife to chop..

Min81 n joyhope .. For my baobei doggies .. I will boil chicken thigh or drum ( cos they quite picky w the chicken parts) either as my soup base if I am making soup n add in carrots and broccoli .. Sme x I will switch btw carrot w sweet potato .. N they luv it .. N salt or other condiments

precious baby> u have to tell dr zou u had et, and the tcm would be an tai yao... not the usual ones u are taking. another sister, babysmurf is also taking an tai yao from tan siew bouy during 2ww
