IVF/ICSI Support Group

I hv red spotting since ytdy morning, guess e embryos didn't manage to develop into fetus. I thought is implantation bleeding but this morning, I've AF..

Psp, if its AF alike then quite slim chance but still best to wait till BT to confirm. My first bfp i also thot no chance liao and stopped all my supports myself (geh kiang) and went do housework, shopping etc ... end up next day do BT was bfp thou level was low. I eventually miscarried that one. Maybe if i hadnt gave up on myself, my firstborn will be 3-4 years old now. Hugs.

Bbshower, you not on pregnyl injections right? Then looks like good news is on the way! Take good care!

Psp I thk u better go down to kkh to do a blood test now b4 they closed. Maybe u just need more support like the injection type instead of the inserts.

If want to go KKH do BT, even if KKIVF closed can go the 24 hours clinic. Results have to wait a few hours. If bfp, can request the 24 hours doc to give a jab.

Heartbeats - Thumb upz for u. But for e sake of bb's safety, i will go all e way too.

Psp - yes, pls go n hv a BT to ease urself n if bfp den at least nt too late for additional support.

Bbshower, looks like high chance you hv bfp. Like what heartbeats say, best to go for BT so that you can have more early support.

Psp, please try to do the BT. At least, you will know for sure the verdict, and you know you've done your best. Don't give up yet k?

12bhappy, wanna jiayou for you!! Jiayou jiayou jiayou!!!! We all suffer a lot for our dream, but it's gonna be worth it. Keep up the positive vibes.

Just read in the other thread that a MTB thought no chance Liao cos her hcg level also increased by 6% instead of 50%. Dr asks her to be prepared for the worst. She cried and prayed about it. By God's grace, her hcg increased by 400% on the subsequent BT. So press on, my dear!

Joyfully - Yes!!! Everyting is worth it as long as e lil ones are safe n sound. Im still prayin every morning n keeping positive. Thank you for e Jia Youssss!!! Haha. And Thank u for hving the great determination on encouraging me. ♥

Joyfully, may i ask how much in total u have spent on this ivf cycle at TMC including all tests done? Thank! Once again a big big Congrat to u and finally God had answered to your prayer

Randy, a big hugz to u and may your dream be fulfilled soon. At the meantime take time to built up your health and relax your soul n body!

Bigbear, thanks so much for your well wishes! Hope it'll be your turn very soon.

I spent around $28k (before medisave), but it's partly due to the growth hormones jabs for about 2 mths prior to ivf cycle, and my dosage is also on the high side.

On the average, most spend between $12k to $16k (before
medisave).

12bhappy, the pleasure is mine.

It's a tough journey, so let's give support to each other and hope all of us will be able to hold our little ones in our arms too.

Hey gals, I went for my closure today. My doc is even more disappointed than me....he told me I have 2 grade 1 embryo and implantation has taken place very smoothly after the transfer....cos my progesterone is exceptionally high when I take my BT aft 1 week.... He said with those scores, the progesterone gel can't create so he is sure that implantation is very smooth beginning. So reason for me to have chemical pregnancy is quite surprising to him.... And my DH sperms has also improved dramatically....

So now he said with current situation where everything looks so optimal, he is suggesting I do laproscopy to remove endo (if I have)... He said not sure but just want to eliminate chances before I proceed with fresh cycle... Thru scan there is nothing.... But I never know....

Ladies what should I do? Proceed with lap?

Hi bub..I read your post..
happy.gif
..I am with dr Roland previously and also my current cycle...I believe based on yr embryo quality n high progrestrone level detected in yr previous bt..You had a very high chance of getting preggy..it could sometime be a lining issue too and endometriosis can't be detected through by scan except by symptom that you may have.

Dr Roland is full of passion for his patients and I believe his recommendation would meant well n help you in yr next fresh cycle...

Bub, I also got the same suggestion from my doc due to my 2 cases endometriosis history.

He explained that could be the reason for the low number of eggs. With lap could help to improve the situation.
I'm also considering the procedure and eager to hear the opinions of sisters here and their experiences.

Lap can be covered by insurance if your doc is cooperative.

Thanks Wendy! Yes he is excellent and so are his staffs. I am pretty much convinced that I am proceeding with it until one of gfs said she felt that it's a mistake. She went thru 7 iui and 2 ivf and laproscopy....

And the previous Gynae I went to doesnt encourage it....she said endo is common in woman and the ops will weaken the womb. That's why I am very confused now on the next step....

Great to know u are Roland's patient.... Are u on your 2ww with 2nd cycle with Roland?

Wendy, @waves@ madly. How are you?

Bub, go to Edit Profile, Login, go to Preference and uncheck "Do not send me "Private Message" e-mails from other board users".

I called KKH this morning and was told that even if is pregnant it might be bad or Etopic pregnancy. So ask to go on wednesday to do BT. Since they say until like that, guess no hope.

Wendy, i m ok. U started your cycle?

Psp, kkh always give text books answer one. How can they say that without checking you? Perhaps you may want to go see a pte gynea asap and see if the pte gynea can help you.

Ladies,

Thanks for all ur support and advise. having to be part of this forum, is a bless and gift from God. nothing is better than all of ur advise and encouragement.

Don't worry for me. I will be positive , monitor these few days and do my BT on Wed. If negative, I will rest for few months then proceed with FET. Maybe will see Dr Loh for FET, not sure what is his charges. Maybe if anyone of u know the cost, can let me know.

Bbshower, u take care and get BFP, same to the other sisters. I have faith in ur gals.... 加油

Never give up.

Hello everyone!

Been a silent reader for the last 6 months or so, and I must say this forum has provided invaluable support and information for me. I've gone thru 2 IUIs, and 2 fresh. All unsuccessful. It's truly sad. Currently on my 2ww, medicated FET with Dr Loh.

Grats to Joyfully!

Randy, I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out this time.... it's never easy. But let's press on!

Wendy, hi hi!!!

Bub, Wendy is right. Endo cannot be detected by scans sometimes, unless u have endometriotic cysts. My first lap was to remove an endo cyst and doc discovered more endo than the cyst. Cleared everything and I managed to conceive naturally right after that! So doing a lap may give u a good chance at conceiving too! Of course, u might like to seek more opinions from other doctors b4 deciding. Good luck!!

Hey Wendy n luv, thanks for the advise...I feel more reassured that lap is the way to go. Even after the investigation, it shows tat nothing is there, at least we can eliminate the causes of infertility one by one....my hubby is just concerned with the risk but Roland seems to be an expert in this area so I feel pretty safe at hand....

Is it true that lap also clean up the lining? But if my embies managed to implant....do I still have a problem with lining? I am just confused how it works.....but I have bad AF pains just a few days before I lost it....

Bub, the lap can also let the doc check for small polyps that are not visible by scan. Polyps can be seen via saline sonography too but can't be removed there and then; if u're doing lap to check, doc can remove them directly if any. There's always a risk to everything. Most importantly, choose a doc whom u trust to do the op.

Psp - hugz and take care! Anyway I am surprised with kkh answers being so blunt ...how are their answers going to be helpful to mothers to be in their 2ww? And what If it's not true and its just normal implantation bleeding and the unnecessary emotional distress of the mothers?
Psp I am glad that u are very strong willed and optimistic cos the bb also dont want you to give up on them.... and lots of hugz and baby dust for u...!

Wonder how is celc......is she feeling better?

Bb shower - seems like your model baby coming thru eh?

Psp just wait till nx wed after the BT then decides anythg ya. Hugz.

Bub erm I guess it's still early to say I m keeping my fingers cross n working hard on being positive n strong minded. Look forward to nx week BT.

PSP,

Not sure how to use PM, but will post it here for you instead. Yes, I'm with Dr Loh (TFC). FET is relatively simple. For me:
(1) Went for first scan on day 3. Was prescribed with progynova from day 3.
(2) Went for second scan on day 12 to check if the lining is fine. If lining is okay, doc will schedule for ET.
(3) My ET happened on day 14. Was prescribed with utrogestan from ET day, and told to continue with progynova. To take both utrogestan and progynova till BT.

In all, it took abt 2 wks before ET. Very fast. Hope the above helps! And dun despair, it's not over till your BT. I also had spotting which started on day 4 after transfer for about 5 days till today. Had to go for a progesterone jab and spotting finally looks like its gonna cease. Dunno what's wrong too..probably low progesterone. Hope it's not bad news. Trying not to be worried. Anyway, hang in there!

Hi Bub, I am here. *wave* still recovering from flu, but getting better.

Not sure if u want to try out this tcm at jurong east near imm Ying Chuan Chinese Medical Hall, the doc is simply amazing. she can determine whether there are cyst or fibroid or any weaknesses by listening to your pulse. But her clinic is very very crowded. during weekends, queue already started before 6am. think they open at 6.15am, they dont accept phone bookings unless there are no more queues. U can try to google on it.

PSP,

For my medicated FET, I think I paid about 4k plus nearly 5k (including assisted hatching of $600, medication, scans and the transfer itself, and overall gst). If without assisted hatching, shld be slightly over 4k. Just an estimation as medication and the number of scans may vary for individuals.

Are u thinking of switching to Dr Loh?

Hi hi bigbear, me here "hiding" all the while. Just silent reading since nothing much for me to contribute. Hahaha. Gg BKK next month ;) u gg for your fresh soon ya? I'll b rooting for u...
