Just to comment on this news based on my understanding:
1) There is an increase risk when using the ovary stimulation drugs especially over than ONE year to conceive a child. **Actually we are only using is for a month (long protocol) or two weeks (short protocol) and once pregnant no need to use. So, I guess my risk not high yet.
2) Quoted on this para "Researchers, however, found no increase in the risk in children whose mothers had undergone IVF - even though almost all such women will have received ovarian-stimulation drugs - or those who were artificially inseminated.". This remind me about the embrologist which I spoken to during my ET, they will only select the BEST egg and BEST sperm to mix. So, again the risk is reduced by filtering out the defects.
Worst comes to worse, one thing we can minimize the risk is to store the blood cord stem from the baby. There is a charges for this and I can't remember can store for how long. If lets say no blood cord stem, the doctor will ask for siblings to match it unless the leukemia is at the end stage then nothing can be done.
So, conclusion for myself I will try max another 2 times for ivf. If nothing happen, then i will close shop and move on with no regrets ^^

I am the pathetic IVF patient. I did not respond well to Gonal F stimulation. Only 5 follicles with 7 eggs and then 3 fertilised but out of 3, I got two transferred and the last one discard due to multiple set of dna in one embryo which was abnormal.
The abnormality not due to my hubby nor myself issue. I guess more on procedure on the lab which stress out the embby. Sighs. A little risk of this. It could happened but most of the patients have no ideas. The reason why the embrologist told me because I asked her a question about how many cells my embbies divided and what are their grade.
Anyway, they will produce you a report with the images.

Use the first urine on day14 because if you have low hcg then it is harder to see on the pregnancy test kit.
And also buy the digital one. It will state pregnant with how many weeks or not pregnant. I think clear cut better rather than guessing on the faint lines rite??

Sarah, I feel for you too. My mil asked my hub if we were taking birth control pills, if not, how come no news
Anyway, in the end, she knew that we have got difficulties conceiving. Did not tell any parent about our trying of IVF this round, don't want them to worry and pin hopes. Also, don't want my mil to spread around. She told some of her friends during my last 3 tries and I really dislike that.

Sugary, the V insert that I had was Crione which is progesterone. It was not Utrogen or cyclogests leh.

Throll, actually, to go to blastocysts stage, qty is not the most important factor. it is the quality... I got 61 folicles and in the end, did not get a blastocyst... Sigh...

but I nv angry her la coz is really I married for so many yrs yet still haven't gv birth. V also nv tell her abt v went thru Ivf as she dun understand the process. So no point telling as she always tot Ivf bb can't survive long.... This is her thinking so v dare not tell her. During my miscarriage during my fresh cycle last time, my brother in law they even can say doesn't matter la, just a small dot no need heartpain etc, miscarriage then try again Loh. Nobody understand how difficult we went thru....

Oic maybe different inserts
For one to preg, be it fresh, fet or blasto, quality is the most impt. But For blasto, in order to go ahead, u need quantity. If u have only 2 embbies, u can try to blast , if they are good quality , u get 2 blastocyst to transfer. But there is a higher risk that you end up none to transfer. And I'm sure those 2 are precious that no one would want to risk blasting unless they really tried all methods and doesn't work. Of cos even those with many embryos also have a risk of all not growing to blasto, but at least they have more embbies to start in the beginning.

throll and Shainie: I read that you are taking aspirin, did your gynaes prescribe it? I'm quite curious to know why many people (in US/UK especially) take baby aspirin. I thought this is only for people with blood clotting disorders, but seems like many people are taking it on their own, like one of their 'supplements'. I wonder if I should ask my doc for it?
Anyone other sisters here been prescribed aspirin to help with implantation?

I dropped about 2kgs because i lost appetite ever since i start the jabs esp at the stim level and during the 2ww, i mainly took soupy stuffs and porridge for meals. My appetite came back slowly ard 11dpt of 2ww.
sarah, what about the bill from kkivf? How soon we will receive the balance bill like how much we have to pay? Till now i didnt rececive anything from kkh. What supplements are you taking? Im thinking of taking multivits before my FET, any recommendations beside royal jelly, i have sensitive asthma, i cant take royal jelly.
