IVF/ICSI Support Group

Gals, just want to inform u all that my gynae had already stopped my ivf session cos of some health issues.. I will be doing a scopy & MRI on thursday, if the results are fine, probably can resume the ivf session next month, otherwise.. Am very sad & cried whole day, why all these have to happen to me..
Although i can't do the ivf this round but will continue to pray for all of u, hope u gals will have a successful ivf & continue the journey to pregnancy & happy motherhood..
 


Hi Sunbelle, haven't started planning for next stage. AF finally started after med so I'll test again this Fri. Dun think I can start in Nov, mebbe Dec or Jan but will check wif my doc first. Are you preparing for FET or fresh?
 
Jessica: Sincerely wish all things are fine and you will carry on with your journey to motherhood soon. I know it is hard t have added on concerns for IVF alone is not an easy journey already. May your tests results be all things ok. Please keep us posted ok. take care

Siblinghopes: I said a prayer for you first thing this morning and i hope that even though it may seem challenging, the outcome will exceed your expectations. My ER will be on Friday. I am just nervous as usual but i think its another hurdle i gotto cross. Keep us updated of your progress ok.

Sisters, I hv a question, why does they ask us to take progesterone inserts via rectally? I was in a dilemma how wud this pipe carry the progesterone to uterus/ cervix?

Also, tody I had to pass motion after one hour of inserting cyclogest(sory for being gross) So do I hv to insert one more capsule agn? Please advise.
 
Jessica - i know it must be disappointing to cancel but as the sistas say, better to have a thorough check & ensure body is healthy before ivf for the safety of ourselves and our baby..Take care, dear. Stay positive & stay strong, ok!

Hope283 - most meds that are taken rectally work via the capsule dissolving/melting by our body heat once inserted into our rectum. The meds inside the capsule is released & absorbed into our bloodstream via the blood capillaries in the rectum. Same reason why HIV & other transmittable diseases are easily transmitted via unprotected anal sex due to the existence of the blood vessels in the rectum. No worries, the progesterone will be absorbed into the body.. If you think about it, the rest of the methods for progesterone support can be either vaginally, orally or via injection... all also not directly to the uterus

Girls, do u take follic acid along with conceive well gold? I am not tkg follic acid seprtly as conceive well gold has already in it. Hope Iam doing right?

Tody is my day 2 after 4 day transfer on mondy. Can't see any symptoms yet. Is there anybodyelse in 2 week?
 
Hi Hope283, Actually i am taking both because if you look at Conceive well's portion, if i am not wrong, it is only 0.5mg and my doc actually prescribed me to take 10mg (although at NUH and KKH, i think only 5mg of folic is required). You may want to check with doc? From what i know Any excess folic acid will be passed off in urine and it will not have any burden on your liver. To play safe, better check with your specialist

I am on my 2ww too. Tummy still bloated but nausea hv gone dw.

Btw, why do some gals take progesterone? Doc nv give me. She ONI give me inserts thru vagina. I also realize diff patients given diff kind of jabs or med.
 
hope283, I take both together since the folic acid in Conceive Well is not sufficient for per day's requirement that is 5mg. Access will be pass out in urine. Please check with your Dr to give you the green light.

Piglet02, try to stretch/ leave your seat sometimes if you are sitting too long. You can place a cushion behind your back to have a better support when sit. Get your DH to lightly massage your back too or put some cushion below/ behind your back for better support when sleep.

Ooh I stopped follic acid since past three months after startg conceive well gold. Hope it does not affect.

Fatefully - bloatg is a good sign, jst hang on there. I dont hv any bloat yet.
 
Hi hope283 I taking folic and conceive well togather. U may want to check with pharmacist. I was told the conceive well contain very low dosage of folic acid.
 
Jst calld Kk Ivf, they said can take follic acid in addition to conceive well gold. I will start tkg from tody. Thnk u sisters for ur advise.

Am feeling fine now. Still a little giddy but conscious. Managed to retrieve 3 but dr said 1 may not be tt fertilised so he's banging chances on the 2.

Siblinghopes, I finished my ER this morning too. Retrieved 15 follicles. My ET on Friday too. Actually wanted to ask you that day why your hcg jab is on Monday night if your ER is on Tuesday. Cos I also jab on Monday night and ER was today. Anyway, hope everything works out fine. Good luck!
 
Hopeful, thanks for the info. You're so brave. If I faint after any blood test, I think I'd probably not want to do blood test again! Too traumatic for me. :S

Does anyone have a food guide on cooling and heaty food which we're supposed and not supposed to take?
 
Fatefully - what vaginal inserts are you getting? Likely it's also progesterone, just in different form of delivery & dosage

Hi ladies, I'm on my 1st IVF cycle @ kk. Just did my ER yesterday. And now feeling like stomach muscle ache- like I've just done 50 sit-ups. Is this normal? Going for ET tomorrow.

Hi sunnie, yes it is normal to hv pain after ER. This is because of punctured follicles from which they retrieved the eggs. For me it took abt 3 days to relieve from pain. Did they give u any painkillers?
 
Hi Hope, thanks for responding to my query. For a while, I was suspecting OHSS.I was not given painkillers but the nurse was telling me that I could take panadol. But I dint take any.

Enigmaysl, I knock out real quick. The last thing I remembered was I wearing the oxygen mask. The next thing when I wake up I was wondering where am I. So no need to worry. All the best for fri ER.

Mine is Utrogestan. I have to insert 3 times a day. But today I forgot to insert once, which mean today I oni do 2 times. Is it ok? Blame on me for playing FB games. Usually insert was done by my hub if he is around... it only in the afternoon he no around and no one to remain me, I totally forgot.. shit!!!

I will be having my BT tomo after a my 1WW. I dont kw what to expect. I dont feel like what u gals feel. Cos my bloatness has giving me a hell and only last 2 days it getting better.
 
Thanks gals for your kind wishes. I will jia you and not be a scardy cat... Just did trigger and well it is much rougher than Superfact and Puregon lol... dunno why ever since i started IVF, my time clock is 10.30pm and i will get really sleepy. Am trying to clear work before ER and HL but at the same time wonder how i can settle my meals next week cos no one around at home. :p How exciting and i pray that we will all have successful cycles

Siblinghopes: Do we have to insert Crinone in the evening after ER? I have 2 boxes of 15 each so not sure whether it is to start after ER or ET...

I order Tingkat during my 2ww. They have a 10 days order which is from Mon-Fri. Mine doesnt come with herbal. And I order 10 days for lunch only. Weekday dinner and weekend my hub can tabao for me. It more easy since we cannot go out. I have been stuck at home for like 1 week+ and tomo i finally can go out (to KK only).
 
Fatefully : set reminder in yr phone. I blur once too, and insert twice within 3 hrs! many times I insert an hour late.
U gg for what type of BT? Progestrone?
 
Fatefully, I use my mobile phone alarm to set the different insert time. Progesterone is for embryo support so try to remember. You will find it easier to do insert yourself than others doing for you. Try a few times and you will get a hang of it.

Tanny, if you are having 3 inserts per day, as long as they are 7 hours apart in between 2 inserts, that will be fine.

Hi gals,
Just got back from KK. Waiting for them to call me. I also went to collect my summary of my embbies and found out that I have total of 14 embbies grade 3 and above to be frozen. Those 2 embbies inside me now is grade 4. They have retrieve a total of 25 follicles and oni 16 eggs can be used.
