12BMami, I also asked for HL to extend till bloodtest date. Wanted to know the result before going back to work

<font color="aa00aa">JJ - you can wait at the normal clinic waiting area for your husband to pick you. Thats what I did too, plenty of nurses around to keep an eye out</font>

I m new to the forum &amp; oso ivf. I will start my ivf program in sep/oct, so wan to know wat are the things tat i need to start prepare now? seen tat Dr Zou is popular here for TCM, so should i start on TCM &amp; acunp first b4 i embark on my ivf? Is there a need for me to start consuming some of the supplements even b4 the ivf? all advises are greatly appreciated. M so worry &amp; anxious on tis ivf thngy, &amp; nd lots of info fr u sistas here! Congrats to Kitty &amp; Hopefulmummy on ur BFPs, spread ard the BB dusts!!! For those in 2WW, GOOD LUCK 2 ALL &amp; hope to hear good news (ie. more BFPs) soon. To those gtg for ER &amp; ET-Good Luck &amp; hope everything will be a GOOD +ve!!! Jia You Everyone!!!

<font color="aa00aa">Sheryln, I'm having progesterone in oil (PIO) jabs daily for the last 5 days. Having a bit of an allergy to them which causes bad bruising, swelling and discoloration. One of the more senior nurses picked it up yesterday and told me its not normal to have such a bad reaction. She suspects it may be allergy to the alcohol or plaster. So she tried to not use either. Today Nurse Phua advised to jab on thigh. So haha, I become experimental!</font>

shoes - jab on the thigh more painful then bum rite? I start to shrek at the thought of cycle, dunno if I can endure it thru!

I told my side here going for medical procedure. then they probe day surgery ? woman issue ?
I say ya ...

so work side settled ... now can go to ER with ease
 
i wrote my HL on notice board from 16/8 till 00?
now my colleague all gossip abt my leave and suspicious what happen to me..
How long the HL KKIVF will give untill BT ?
 
i've not told my colleagues yet tat I'll b on HL from 16Aug onwards for 2 weeks. Juz now my colleague fr other dept told me I must complete this task by 13 Aug or 16 Aug. Anyway, I 'll try to complete as much. Then next wk tell her abt my leave. If I tell her now, she will pressurize me to do faster! I dun wan to stress myself wif work!

i'm also cycling sept/oct! Are you gg to be with kkivf?
Currently some supplements you can start taking are folic acid, coq10, royal jelly.

I'm gg to see dr zou this thur and that will be my 1st visit to her. Not sure wanna do this tcm and accu, but seen that many are doing well with her, though hubby feels that less is more... Will see her n see hw it goes.

So happy, we can be cycle buddies!! My 1st ivf too!!</font>

why do u need to have pio jabs daily? I had my 1st pio jab yesterday n only need it once weekly. It's painful.
Luckily the more senior nurse is able to pinpoint the possible reasons, hopefully u won't get anymore allergy reaction.
 
iloveshoes/ Sherlyn:- Quens here?? why do both of u need to go for the PIO jab? Is this the own choice? Understand from the nurse that if the P is low, they will give us oral..
 
Mic1980:- Wow!! good memory!! My ET is on 30 July.. Based on the injection form given from KK, I am required to go for my Blodd Progesterone test on 5 Aug.. and Blood HCG on 16 Aug..
 
Mic1980:- on 30 July (ET), its considered D0, therefore, 16 Aug, will consider 17 days after the ET.

Based on the KK brochure, its stated that we will need to go for a pregnancy test, after 17 days after the ET.

Bt the way, what is NPL??

i had my 1st pio jab yesterday right after et n was told to go back weekly for it. Do u hv bt to determine your p level? I'm not too sure but I guess diff clinics hv diff practices?

So far I'm not informed to take any bt to determine p level.
Are u on progestrone inserts? I'm on crinone insert once daily.
 
Hi again. I am going for my appointment with Dr Loh on next monday. Abit apprehensive about what he would say. Can someone share what to expect for first appointment?

For ladies with CARE, can you tell me what is the waiting time like? Cos' I can't take leave and would probably have to go during lunch hours. And are all of you with Dr Paul?
 
leeoh - I'm with CARE and I went for the last appt at 4.30pm. waiting time was reasonable like 30 mins, can't advise on lunch hr waiting time. I'm not sure if they gonna assign Dr Paul to me cos I only went there once and saw Angela

I heard that KKH's waiting time is in hours :eek:

I thought angela is the embryologist? Can we choose our doctors?

so you will be doing ivf with kkivf or care? =)

my 1st appt, hmm...i did all the fertility blood tests before seeing dr loh. he just ask me iui or ivf, then did a scan to check ovaries and follicles, then tell me to take folic acid and vitamin C. after that i just ask him when to start, and once decided, he will refer me to kkivf and that's it. if you need an mc from him, remember to ask... =)</font>
 
Hi. I am going for kkh first. If it didn't work out, I might go CARE. But hubby must agree to the higher cost for private first lar ;p


I need to do blood test first?? How do I do that? Do I need a referral? So far, I have done a HSG (I presume that's the one about checking the tubes) but no blood test.

since you've made an appt with dr loh, then dun worry. see what he say, if need to, he might ask you to do it.

cos i referral from polyclinic, so i did the tests first, then later on then i switch to dr loh. for my case, all my tests are subsidised, cos referral from polyclinc. but since you've mad an appt with dr loh, then considered as pts patient, so all tests no subsidised rate....all in private rate =)</font>
 
Can I check - how long does it take to start the ivf process? I mean after seeing the doctor to the start of the ivf? How often do we need to see the doctor?

If I remember correctly, we paid ard $5k cash (after medisave) for my fresh cycle in apr. But I stopped at er n freezed all embryos without gg thru et. For my fet we were told it will b within the medisave coverage n we haven't pay any in cash yet.

Ladies,
may I ask if anyone of u experience difficulty in urinating right after et? It took me 5-6 toilet visits with rest in between n using force to clear my bladder. N since et, I m having constant urge n feel my bladder is not totally emptied. Similar to having uti. Feeling worried. Can anyone advise?
 
leeoh - I think u need to be monitored for 1 cycle before u can start ivf. I saw Angela last mth and showed her all my past records, then she say most likely start in Sept and the whole treatment will take around 7 weeks. I'm due for a day 2 blood test next mth too. She'll discuss more details with me after my blood test
